What Are You Wearing?

Summary:

Jaskier joins Geralt on a stream

Work Text:

Geralt adjusted the microphone on his headphones as he loaded up the game. He wasn’t recording yet and he was still waiting for Jaskier to connect to the call. His boyfriend was late but there was nothing unusual there. Geralt had warned his followers that they’d probably be late starting tonight. Jaskier had scoffed haughtily at his warning but naturally Geralt had been right. The screen flashed in front of him and he heard a beeping in his headphones.

He smiled.

“Geralt?” Jaskier’s voice crackled through the headphones. No matter how many times Geralt tried to convince him, Jaskier still refused to get a better microphone.

“Jask.” Geralt greeted warmly as Jaskier’s face popped up on his monitor. “Are you ready?”

“Ah. Umm. I think so. It’s on the menu screen.” Jaskier hummed, he was chewing his lips and holding his controller far too tightly. Jaskier was a miracle worker when it came to writing his songs but he got completely lost with video games.

Geralt shook his head. “You want multiplayer mode. Once we’ve spawned, I’ll come and find you and we can explore the map together.”

“What if I get killed before you find me?”

“I won’t let that happen.” Geralt reassured him.

“Well I’m only level three, dearest, and woefully terrible at this game.” Jaskier whined and pressed the controller against his nose.

“You’ll be fine, Jask.” Geralt double checked his connection and got ready to open his stream. He glanced at the chat. There were already a few people in the chat, sending their greetings from around the world. “Let’s go.”

He started the stream. He introduced Jaskier and checked both their video and mics were connecting probably to the stream then they hit play. They spawned in different locations and it was up to Geralt to find Jaskier’s character so they could get going. Jaskier would never survive if they played opposite each other. Luckily Geralt’s followers thought it was cute that they were playing cooperatively. They’d heard Geralt talk about his mysterious boyfriend before but they’d never had a chance to meet him before.

Jaskier greeted the chat with a wink and dazzling smile, the bloody flirt. The chat exploded with comments about how cute he was and how lucky Geralt was. Geralt rolled his eyes.

“Don’t feed his ego.” He grumbled.

“Oh hush, love. They adore me.” Jaskier cooed and Geralt was sorely tempted to kill Jaskier himself. “But I’m the lucky ones, dearest fans. Have you seen my boyfriend? God, he’s gorgeous. He’s truly been blessed by the devil.”

“The devil?” Geralt snorted.

“Well, you are far too tempting to have been made by god, dear heart.” Jaskier winked at him through the screen. Geralt felt his cheeks heat up but he just sighed and pretended that he didn’t love having his boyfriend’s attention.

His followers were right. Geralt was the lucky one.

“What are you wearing?” He asked as he started to make his way through the in-game world towards the blue dot on his radar.

“Really? We’re gonna do this here? Alright, I’m wearing something sexy but not too sexy. I still want to be comfortable. That button down blue shirt you like-“

“In the game Jask! Sheesh…” Geralt cut Jaskier off before he could continue. He knew exactly where that conversation would go. They’d had plenty of phone calls like in before and it was not appropriate for his channel.

The chat erupted again. Message after message popped up, all yelling at Geralt to let Jaskier finish. Geralt groaned and ran his hands through his hair. Jaskier laughed and Geralt knew the bastard had known exactly what he was doing. Geralt glanced at the viewer count. It was going up and fast. His boyfriend was thirst trapping Geralt’s fanbase, and very successfully.

“Ohhh, my in-game character.” Jaskier sang with feigned innocence.

More comments in the chat arguing that they wanted to hear more about Jaskier, despite the fact he was clearly clothed as he lounged out on his sofa in his small flat. Jaskier’s eyes flicked down as he looked and the chat. He laughed again and winked at the camera.

“Maybe later chat.” He purred with a seductive smirk.

Geralt sighed and shifted awkwardly in his chair. Jaskier’s winks and smiles were affecting more than just his fans. It was worse for Geralt. He knew exactly what Jaskier looked like when they were in bed together. He knew the gasps and breaths of his lover as he moaned Geralt’s name.

“No. Jaskier, your character. What do they look like?” He growled, trying to get his head back in the game. He should have known this would be a terrible idea. His sponsors would not be happy if he couldn’t keep Jaskier in check. His channel was meant to be kid friendly.

Jaskier beamed cheekily at the camera and Geralt knew he was in trouble. “Right! I’m naked.”

Geralt groaned and pressed his fingers to his forehead. “Jask….”

Jaskier’s hands flew up in defence, and he almost threw his controller across the room. “What? I worked hard to make my character look good. I wanna see his body.”

Geralt glared at his boyfriend on the screen. “You’re incorrigible.” He muttered.

“You love me!” Jaskier cooed. “Oh shit. Geralt!” He suddenly focused hard on the screen on front of him, tongue slipping between his lips. His bright blue eyes shone with with. “No no no!”

“What’s going on?” Geralt downed a potion in game to boost his stamina so he could run faster and further towards Jaskier’s blue dot.

“Wolves, Geralt. Oh fuck!” Jaskier whined.

Geralt rolled his eyes. Even at level three Jaskier should have been able to defeat a pack of wolves. He glanced down at the chat, sure enough everyone was laughing at Jaskier’s ability to defend himself. He couldn’t see Jaskier’s game screen but they could and he sighed. It didn’t sound good. “Leave off.” He grumbled to his followers. “He’s new at this.”

“Geralt, you promised you’d protect me!” Jaskier cried. Jaskier’s blue dot faded from screen and Jaskier’s controller landed on the floor. “Cock.”

Geralt chuckled and spun around whilst he waited for Jaskier to respawn. “This time stick to the path and head towards the yellow dot.” Geralt told his boyfriend.

“You told me to wait for you!” Jaskier rested his head on his arms and pouted.

“And now I’m telling you to head towards the yellow dot. I’ll find you faster that way.”

Jaskier scoffed.

“And put your armour on.”

Jaskier whined. “But Geralt. He’s so pretty.”

Geralt sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Jaskier was fucking shit at video games. “Armour, Jask. Now.”

“Spoilsport.” Jaskier grumbled but a quick look at the chat told Geralt that Jaskier had done as he asked. The fans were less than pleased but at least Jaskier would have more protection this time round.

Just as he predicted he managed to find Jaskier in the middle of a path fairly quick this time. He glared the screen as he noticed the silver haired character with bright golden eyes.

“Jaskier?”

“Yes, dear heart?” Jaskier trilled with a smirk and cocked his head.

“Your character looks an awful lot like me.” He raised an eyebrow at the screen.

Jaskier blushed prettily and ran his hand through his hair. “What can I say? I have a type, darling."
