Work Text:
George loved stickers. They were colourfully, albeit him not able to see it quite well, and useful for decorations and more. He used a wide array of them, from sticky notes to customised stickers that he bought just for his happiness.
It reminded him of his ability to make anything feel like home.
Stickers remind him of one thing, belonging.
George sat on the floor. The lights were blue (purple according to dream) accompanied by the sparse early morning light out the window. He scrolled through YouTube, looking at nothing in particular until a certain music video caught his eyes, titled 'overdrive'.
His sophomore year of high school came. George walked with Karl, Quackity, Dream and Sapnap to their lockers which were, thankfully, right next to each other.
He put in his combination and when he opened the locker, he was greeted by a familiar scene. Stickers littered the entire inside of his locker but was still able to look clean. Organised chaos.
That day however, something felt out of place. He took another glance at the locker. His books were all there. Numerous stickers and sticky notes were pasted filled with reminders and upcoming due dates. A picture of all of the feral boys squished into one photo booth was taped on the inside of the door. It was all normal. Except for one small note.
Near the bottom of the photo, a small note was stuck, with the words. Everyone else heard a small short gasp from George, looking over at what he was staring intently at.
"Be mine? ~green"
They started dating almost immediately. From quick glances in class to visiting each other in the early mornings of weekends.
Today was no different. Dream came in after feeding patches and sat next to George on the floor.
"what's the 'amazing thing' you wanted to show me?"
"hmm... For a price" dream cheekily said before tapping his cheek with his finger
George rolled his eyes before giving him a chaste kiss.
"I had to climb through the window AND give you a kiss?!" he said with fake annoyance.
Before George could say anything further, Dream quickly took out a pack of something before poking George's cheek. In place of dream's prod, a green smile sticker now laid there.
"now people will know you're mine" he said with a large grin on his face.
"oh shut up" he replied as a pink hue spread across his face. The rest of the late night, they laid at the foot of dream's bed playing some music as they tried to sneakily paste stickers onto each others faces.
By 5 am in the morning, both boys had dozens of stickers specking their faces, holding their stomachs as they laugh at the numerous ways they surprised each other.
YouTube started to autoplay the next song which George faintly remembered from the thumbnail earlier.
Overdrive by Conan grey
Their laughter slowly calmed down, both opting to just cuddle with one another. There in his boyfriends arms, he felt at home.
Stickers remind him of one thing,
Dream.
