Truth went around asking everyone on the boat what Marinette's secret was. "She's in love with Adrien Agreste," was the only reply he'd gotten. But that was no secret. Some movement caught his attention from the corner of his eye. Was someone trying to escape?
He turned quickly, capturing the victim in the spotlight. It was Adrien. Maybe he was trying to hide something. Why else would he run? "Adrien, what is Marinette's secret?" Surely, Adrien Agreste, the boy Marinette was so in love with, would know her real secret.
"She's constipated," the boy in front of him said simply. "I think she has a lot of issues with that."
And suddenly, it all made sense. Why else would Marinette make such awful excuses to run away? She always did look a bit clammy and nervous whenever she came up with them. Maybe she was afraid to tell him about her issues with constipation.
The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. She always ran into bathrooms and took a long time to come back from them. She sometimes used the excuse of needing to use the bathroom, too. He always thought she took too long for that to be the truth, but maybe it was because she was constipated.
Immediately, he felt terrible. He got all worked up for nothing. His girlfriend was suffering, her bowels failing her, and he was storming around Paris. What type of boyfriend did that make him?
First, he would figure out who his dad was, but as soon as he was done, he would make sure to help her. After all, the least he could do was get her some constipation medicine.
Marinette was running late. She wasn't sure why Luka had called her, but she had a sinking feeling in her gut. Maybe he wanted to breakup after what happened earlier in the day. But, if that happened, maybe it was for the best. It was just too risky to have a relationship with all of her responsibilities.
She found Luka sitting on a bench and staring out into the sunset. He seemed contemplative. But then again, didn't he always?
"Sorry I'm late," Marinette panted. She could run around Paris, jumping across rooftops for hours, and not feel out of breath, but out of the suit running wasn't her best sport. Nothing really was, though.
"It's ok, Marinette," Luka told her calmly as she sat down beside him. He was always so understanding. "I now know why you're always running off."
Oh no. What gave her away? How did he figure it out? Did he see Tikki? Did he see the miraculous box? Did he see the resemblance? "How-how did you know?"
"Well, when I was akumatized, I asked Adrien what your secret was. When he told me, I felt terrible. I assumed the worst of you, and I'm sorry for that." He reached on the other side of him and grabbed a plastic bag she hadn't noticed before. "Take this, it's the least I can do. I hope you can forgive me."
Marinette, confused and curious, looked into the bag. Inside was constipation medicine. "Oh, thank you!" She exclaimed, trying to sound thankful. Her relief wasn't faked, however, so maybe that's why he believed her.
"I should get going, it's getting late. Would you like me to walk you home?" He asked.
"Nope, I'm good." Seemingly satisfied with her response, Luka nodded then got up, waving as he walked away. Once he was gone, Marinette groaned. What was up with her and guys she liked thinking she was constipated?
