Chapter 1: The First Time

Chapter Text

Stiles was breathless as he walked into the school, excited to see his friends once again after the summer they had off. Sure he saw Scott here and there but he had mostly been distracted between Allison and Kira and Stiles didn’t really want to get into the middle of that drama.

The summer was like a movie for Stiles as he met someone and had fallen in love with them quickly and hard. Deucalion was a transfer student who had arrived a couple years ago from England and he was just a year older than Stiles. The reason he had never noticed him before was Deucalion went to a different school.

He didn’t go to Beacons Hills High School, instead he went to the private school that was ten minutes out of town and is called Hills Private Academy. Stiles had known about the place but never truly paid any attention to it even though the schools competed against each other in almost everything.

Anyway, back to the story, Stiles had met Deucalion at the sheriff station of all places because apparently someone was breaking into the rich side of town and Stiles had walked in, a paper bag in hand with the determination of making sure his dad didn’t order takeout for dinner. The people that stood in his dad’s office just stared at him as Stiles plopped the bag onto the desk and asked what was going on.

The rest kind of went from there but now he and Deuc were seeing each other, boyfriends labelled and everything and now he could tell the others that he wasn’t single anymore.

“Stiles! Hey man, how was your summer?” Danny asked and Stiles just beamed as the others all fell into place at the table.

“It was awesome, how was yours?”

“It was alright, already went through a couple colleges I am interested in applying to.”

“Hey batman,” Erica said as she fell into place beside him and Stiles grinned as he hugged her close. Soon enough the entire table was full.

“Alright everyone, since we are back I am going to have a party at my place and everyone must bring a date,” Lydia declared and Stiles perked up, “Except Stiles considering he is the only single one in our group.”

“Hey!” Stiles squawked as everyone cackled.

The fact was Stiles was in a relationship with Derek before it all fell down and burned when Derek wanted Paige over him and it still stung from time to time but he was okay with it. Or as okay as he could be okay with it considering. If it wasn’t for Deuc he would be the only one single with everyone paired off.

Scott has been with Kira since Allison was with Isaac now, Lydia and Jackson are still doing their dance of breaking up and making up. Erica was with Boyd and he totally shipped them because they were perfect together, Danny was busy with his boyfriend from Australia of all places.

Derek didn’t really sit with them anymore since he broke it off with Stiles, which he was thankful for because it still hurt from time to time. He was looking forward to showing Derek that he didn’t depend on him anymore, that he had moved on.

“I’m not single!” Stiles blurted and the table went quiet as everyone stared at him.

“Okay so who’s the lucky guy or girl?” Jackson sneered. He was grateful when Lydia smacked him for that and he sent her a small smile.

“He goes to Hills Private Academy, his name is-”

“Hills Private Academy?” Jackson laughed and even Danny chuckled at that.

“Stiles you don’t know anyone from there,” Scott said softly as Kira gave him a weak smile.

“I met him over the summer,” Stiles defended and everyone just chuckled or rolled their eyes at him.

“Then bring him to the party Stiles and we will meet him.”

“Fine, I will!”

With that, whatever good day Stiles was going to have was gone as he stormed off to his first class of the day. It only got worse when he realized he shared most classes with Derek and Paige except for the very last class of the day. Wonderful.

“So how was your first day, love?” Deuc asked over the phone and Stiles melted at the sound of his voice. Stiles didn’t even realize he had a thing for British accents until Deucalion was whispering things in his ears that made him gasp, his toes curl as he pressed himself closer. Or maybe it was just a thing that drove him crazy that was just Deuc.

“Horrible but it’s better now that I’m talking to you,” Stiles replied softly, smiling as he heard the soft hitch in breath that always happened when Stiles would say things like that to his boyfriend, “How was your day handsome?”

“Oh you know, typical day of people being all over each other and not listening to the teachers as they blabber on about what to expect in their classes.”

“Hmm, sounds wonderful.”

“Oh, it’s truly marvelous,” Deuc replied before they both chuckled.

“So, are you busy tonight?”

“Why do you ask love?”

“Well,” Stiles muttered as he rolled onto his stomach as he picked at the lint that was on his pillow, feeling embarrassed at the silly fact of what he was about to ask, “My friends are throwing a party and I was hoping you could come with?”

“I would love too darling but my parents are having their special dinner tonight,” Deuc said softly and Stiles sighed in defeat, wonderful if he showed up without them then they wouldn't believe that Deuc was even real.

“I forgot that was tonight,” Stiles admitted as he winced. Deucalion’s family wasn’t bad, his parents were sweet even if they did have high expectations from their children and only wanted the best for them. Special dinners they didn’t mess around with when they had important company over, even Stiles wasn’t special enough to be a whole special dinner affair.

Which, fine by him really. HIs family was slightly terrifying in a whole different way from Derek’s.

“If you want I can make it up to you later love, I know you have been looking forward to me meeting your friends.”

“Don’t worry about it Deuc, you just focus on the dinner. I know how your family can get about that.”

“Yes, they do get their what is it that people say these days? Panties in a twist?”

Stiles laughed, it was always hilarious when Deucalion who was all proper would say something so… improper he supposed, “Yes, that is correct.”

“I do have to say that you Americans do have some weird sayings.”

“Gotta keep you on your toes Deuc,” Stiles giggled and he smiled as he heard a chuckle come from the other line.

“You certainly do keep me on my toes love, now I have to go but I love you my darling and I hope I get to meet them soon.”

“Yeah yeah yeah, go do your British thing handsome. See you this weekend?”

“Absolutely,” Deuc promised and Stiles smiled as they both said their goodbyes and hung up.

Sometimes Stiles wished they went to the same school, or even maybe if he went to the academy despite his father never being able to afford that. Or maybe even Deucalion being at Beacon Hills, he knew he would easily be one of the more popular kids with his looks and everything but he knew Deuc would struggle with that.

He would also never force him to make that decision. He was just happy to get him in anyway he could.

“So where’s the boyfriend?” Jackson immediately called when Stiles finally managed to gather the will to go.

“He couldn’t make it,” Stiles admitted weakly as Jackson threw his head back to laugh as the others just smiled sadly at him.

“I expected that, didn’t realize you were so desperate Stilinski.”

“Jackson, leave him alone! We will meet him when we do,” Lydia snapped before she wrapped her arm around Stiles’ waist, “Now let’s party.”

Stiles smiled at her before he nodded, he was forever grateful for her. He wasn’t sure if she believed him but she wouldn’t stand Jackson’s treatment but he was determined to get them to meet Deucalion.
