Imposter

Summary:

When Oingo impersonates Jotaro, he has the bad luck of running into Noriaki Kakyoin, one of the only crusaders with two braincells to rub together. He's unaware that Kakyoin and Jotaro are dating, and almost immediately manages to blow his cover.

Notes:

A short little thing I wrote in an hour or so to help get over my writer's block.

Thank you to Andi for telling me my idea was funny and giving me some good ideas.

In this au Kakyoin didn't get his eyes injured by Geb so he wasn't sent to the hospital.

Work Text:

After spending the morning and afternoon traveling through the desert, their small group stops in town to pick up supplies.

Avdol goes off to gather information with Iggy in tow, and Noriaki opts to follow Jotaro, Polnareff and Joseph to the market.

Polnareff and Joseph go to ask for directions, and Noriaki takes the opportunity to be alone with his new boyfriend, who's just returned from wherever he wandered off to.

He grabs Jotaro's hand and pulls him aside with a small smile, but Jotaro turns to look at him with shock. "Why are you looking at me like that? And what happened to your hat and clothes?"

Jotaro looks uncharacteristically nervous, rubbing the back of his neck and looking away. "Uh, nothing. My clothes got dirty so I changed, and I was just surprised to see you."

Noriaki gives him a confused look, but shrugs and pulls Jotaro into a small alleyway. "I missed you today. We should have a few minutes before Polnareff and Mr. Joestar come back and we'll have to rejoin them."

"What are we doing? Maybe we should wait for them." Jotaro takes a small step back towards the road.

"Relax, they probably won't even realize we're gone. Come here." He smiles as he reaches up and loops his arms around Jotaro's neck, making his partner lean down.

Noriaki closes his eyes and leans in, expecting to feel Jotaro's lips against his own.

His eyes fly open when Jotaro shoves him away, panic in his eyes. "H-hey, wait! Are you trying to kiss me or something?!"

"Yes? What's wrong with you?" Noriaki cocks his head in confusion.

"You're gay?" Jotaro exclaims in pure shock and surprise.

"You are too. You've been kissing me for weeks!" He can't deny that the sudden rejection hurts. Has Jotaro changed his mind about being with him? But he's seemed so sincere, so happy whenever they're alone. Something is wrong.

"Oh, uh, yeah, I'm gay. Yare yare daze. Kiss me?" Jotaro is openly sweating, his eyes frantically darting back and forth.

"When did I first confess to you?" He throws a question at his partner.

"Hey, I think I hear Polnareff calling for us. Let's go." Jotaro starts to turn away, but Hierophant Green's tentacles lash out and wrap around his limbs.

"Not until you prove it's you. Answer the question." After Yellow Temperance impersonating him in Singapore, he can't rule out this being an imposter.

"I forgot, just let me go!" Jotaro struggles against the stand's hold. But if he truly wanted to escape, he could call on Star Platinum and rip Hierophant off of him. It only makes Noriaki suspect him more.

"Then show me Star Platinum instead. I'll let you go then."

"I don't feel like it, get your weird melon stand off of me!” he turns and tries to punch Noriaki, who ducks under it and feels his hair move.

"You're not Jotaro. Who the fuck are you?” His eyes are hard as he stares at the man who looks exactly like his boyfriend.

“I am Jotaro, what are you talking about? Maybe you’re the fake!”

Noriaki ignores his desperate attempts to save himself. “You have five seconds to prove it’s you before I beat you up.”

He silently counts to five in his head as the fake Jotaro continues to struggle. Hierophant Green lifts his victim into the air, throwing him across the alleyway.

The man skids along the sand and hits the wall head-first, falling unconscious. Noriaki dusts some sand off his coat and leaves the alleyway.

When he returns to the car, Noriaki finds the real Jotaro leaning against the side, holding a bag of oranges.

"Jotaro! I missed you." He's relieved to see his boyfriend again, especially because Jotaro appears unhurt.

"Was only gone for a few minutes, got hungry." He grabs an orange and peels it. "Want one?"

He grabs half of the orange from Jotaro's hands with a smile, ignoring Jotaro's small huff of annoyance at his snack being stolen.

“Your hair is a bit messed up.” Jotaro reaches over and fixes it. “What happened?”

“Just the wind.” He lets out a soft laugh, and after looking around to make sure they’re still alone, he gives Jotaro a quick kiss.

“There’s an alleyway over there if you want me to kiss you properly.” Jotaro is wary of the rest of their group discovering their relationship, preferring to keep it hidden for now. Who knows if the others will fully accept them?

“That alleyway?” Noriaki follows Jotaro’s gaze to the same alleyway that Jotaro’s double is currently laying in. “No thanks. Let’s find a different one.”

Jotaro shrugs but allows Noriaki to take his hand and pull him along, the two of them happily occupying their time until their friends return.
