"Hello?"
"What's up?" Mingi's voice came out from Wooyoung's phone speaker.
"Nothing much," Wooyoung answered as he stretched his limbs and sighed. "Just laying around in my room watching some youtube videos,"
An uncomfortable silence linger in the air for a few seconds. "What's wrong, Woo? Why do you sounds so gloomy?"
"Nothing. I just... I don't know, feel a bit down, I guess? Everyone is busy and I...kinda feel lonely,"
"Are you alone in the dorm?"
"Yeah, I'm free today. Hongjoongie-hyung is stuck in his studio as usual, Yeosang has rehearsal with the other MCs, and the others are filming something for the drama promotion," Wooyoung stood up when he heard the door lock beeping. "Wait, I think someone's back home,"
Wooyoung frowned when Mingi suddenly hung up the call. He then left his room and gasped as he couldn't believe what he saw.
"Mingi??" Wooyoung shrieked when he saw the taller entered the dorm.
Mingi laughed at Wooyoung's reaction. "Surprise,"
"What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me that you're coming??" Wooyoung's eyes blinked rapidly, still couldn't believe that Mingi suddenly appeared in front of him.
Mingi just grinned. "Go change your clothes, let's go get some ice cream,"
Wooyoung's face lit up, he then rushed to his room to change his clothes. Mingi smiled at the sight and plopped himself onto the couch.
Five minutes later, Wooyoung poked Mingi's shoulder. "Let's go! Where are we going?"
"How about we hang out at the park first? It's a bit chilly, but the weather is nice today," Mingi stood up and pulled up the zipper on Wooyoung's jacket. Wooyoung nodded and rushed to the front door to wear his shoes.
They chatted as they walked to the park near their dorm, the walk only took them few minutes. Wooyoung excitedly ran to the swings as soon as they arrived at the park.
Mingi laughed at the younger and quickly followed behind. He then sat at the swing next to Wooyoung. "Why are you so excited?"
"I don't know, maybe it's because the weather is so nice?" Wooyoung answered as he started kicking the ground to swing himself.
Suddenly, Mingi got off the swing and turned to Wooyoung. "Are you okay being alone here for a bit? I need to buy some things in the convenience store," Mingi pointed at the convenience store near the park.
"Sure," Wooyoung kicked the ground and swing himself slowly.
Ten minutes later, Wooyoung saw Mingi waved at him at the bench on the other side. Wooyoung got off the swing and walked to Mingi's side.
"Here, it's yours," Mingi handed an ice cream spoon to Wooyoung and motioned the younger to sit next to him.
Wooyoung rolled his eyes. "When you said about getting some ice cream, I thought we're going to an ice cream cafe or something,"
"I didn't said anything about ice cream cafe, though?" Mingi defended himself which got Wooyoung chuckled. Wooyoung let out a squeal when Mingi opened a bucket of mint choco ice cream he bought earlier.
"Seriously, I didn't expect you to suddenly popped up at the dorm today," Wooyoung said while scooping a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth.
Mingi smiled, he took some tissues and wiped the ice cream smudged on the corner of Wooyoung's lips. "You deserve a surprise once in a while,"
Wooyoung let go of his spoon into the bucket and hugged Mingi.
"Thank you, it's a nice surprise for me," Wooyoung said. Mingi giggled as he ruffled Wooyoung's hair.
No, Wooyoung definitely didn't have to know that Mingi in fact called Hongjoong that morning to ask about Wooyoung's schedules of the day.
