SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 555+!

PS: This is not set in canon TCF! This is basically a spinoff of the TCF AU I created called Why am I Karin?, and so it is an AU of an AU kind of thing! So, this is an alternate timeline for Karin's story in regards to the Korean Arc! I guarantee nothing in regards to this in relation to the main timeline Karin AU fic! OK? Great!

Honestly I just really wanted to write my OC Karin being badass in a ruined Korea with KRS!Cale despite not knowing how to read any Korean while also being forced to wear an Alice dress she hates because gods suck. The new god in this fic is made up and does not exist in canon. This fic was written purely for my enjoyment and stress relief, and dumbass yandere Choi Han is my punching bag.
Enjoy!

Chapter 1: A Not-So-Wonderful Land

Chapter Text

Karin’s POV

I had been tinkering with a new tool to try to paint the White Star’s mask hot pink, when all of a sudden everything went black and I lost consciousness. You know, Cale’s usual routine. However, I am not Cale. I am Karin. Once some amount of time had passed, I’m not sure whether it was seconds or even days, I felt cold concrete under my butt, and I started to stir.

I opened my eyes to see a ruined world. Buildings were crumbling, no sounds of mundane daily life to be heard. All I could hear was noises made by monsters and the occasional sound of human distress. Man, Kim Rok Soo survived through this sort of shitty reality? Incredible. Smoothing down my-

“...Why is my dress so blue and frilly?? This is going to be so hard to move in! And why is there a bow in my hair!? It’s not even tying my hair back, how useless can this outfit get?”

I froze in place when I heard a voice in my head. The voice sounded hesitant but also amused? It was also unclear whether it was a man or a woman. Shit, I guess it’s a god. It makes sense gods are interested in Cale, but really? Me too? It’s probably the one that brought me here, let’s just pay attention to what they say for now.

[Hello, my beloved child. Pardon me, I am the God of Arts, and I am the one who brought you here. I apologize for not asking you for permission, however I knew you needed to come here once I sensed the sealed God of Despair moving the soul of that child you work so hard to protect to another dimension you know as Earth 2. I left you a gift as compensation. I look forward to seeing more of those amusing inventions you keep creating. Good luck! Bye bye~]

“... Really dude? I see, I get a gift from a god, huh... ”

To be honest, my expectations weren’t very high considering my knowledge of the gods following Cale around. So I was both irritated and pleasantly surprised when I noticed a pouch tied to my hip.

“My tools and other stuff! At least they didn’t just dump me, someone without any battle ability, here without giving me my goods… Thank goodness. This outfit still pisses me off though. Alrighty, first things first I gotta find our boy Rok Soo. I hope he’s done being beat up by that Park Jin Tae dude by now… I don’t wanna get involved with that. Hup!”

Clambering to my feet less gracefully than I’d like to admit, it was time to find Cale while avoiding as many monsters as possible. That’s easier said than done. That’s also not the only issue… I don’t know where I am. Honestly, where the hell am I? I’ve never even been to Korea before! I’m a young woman in a stupidly frilly Alice dress and my magic bag alone in a ruined Korea infested with monsters. I must look like a lunatic and I am lost before I even started moving. What even is this situation… Well, let’s just start walking for now, I vaguely remember the description of that asshole’s Shelter, and I doubt that god would have dumped me in some city that’s irrelevant to Cale’s current location. I’m probably in Seoul according to what I know.

“RoboKarin Combat Model #3, I choose you!”

I say as I pull out one of my homemade assistants I put in my bag just in case. Seriously, I’m so glad I put it in there. Thank you past me, you were smarter than I thought you were.

“At your service, boss.”
“Let’s head off. Use what we know of the novel to find out our location, and prioritize Kim Rok Soo’s location while keeping me safe.”
“Yes, boss.”

The RoboKarin took the lead, while I just trailed behind trying to keep my creeping anxiety under control. The monsters that showed up were taken care of with a few mana shots. Wow, I was so smart to make this combat model. I’ve never liked apocalypse movies or settings in general, and it’s definitely more scary when it’s reality. This really sucks.

“Whatever or whoever caused the Cataclysm to happen to Rok Soo’s world and this world… I’m gonna come for your ass. Wait for me.”

After about two freaking hours of traveling at a brisk walking speed, the Shelter was in sight. Honestly, I’m not sure what Kim Rok Soo looks like, especially a twenty year old without the scars that the novel kept mentioning, but he’s apparently almost skin and bones… Oh. That’s definitely him.
“#3, cease navigation and battle mode. The poor boy is spotted and we need to act chill.”
“Yes, boss.”

I ran towards the walls of the shelter. I’m actually pretty excited to be able to witness this arc in person, although it’s still really scary. I’m also excited to be able to watch over this version of Cale, and to be able to see these people who were so important to him. I’m gonna tease the heck out of him when we meet Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk!

… Of course, I was stopped at the gate. I look like a lunatic, this godforsaken blue dress unblemished while my non-human companion has splatters all over it. I also still have Karin’s silver-blue hair, hazel eyed appearance since I was ported here. It’s not the color combination you would expect of a human in a world like this Earth. Anyone would be wary of me. I’m just glad they haven’t attacked me.

“Hey, Kim Rok Soo! I see you there, you little punk! Your noonim is here~”

Ah, he flinched. I know, you weren’t expecting anyone and you’re desperately strategizing right now. I could see Jang Man Soo sitting next to him, they must have been talking.

Cale’s POV

“Hey, Kim Rok Soo! I see you there, you little punk! Your noonim is here~”

Cale’s eyes opened wide as saucers as he turned his head towards the gate at that frustratingly familiar rude voice. Ah, damn. It’s her. He ignored the small feeling of relief blooming in his chest at the sight of the familiar face.

‘How is she even here?! She doesn’t have any connections with gods! Aigoo, what’s going to happen to my plan if she’s here… Ah, she’s jumping and waving at me. I need to tell them to let her in so she stops.’

Jang Man Soo grabbed my wrist as I went to get up to go see Karin, concern evident in his eyes.

“Rok Soo, is she someone you know?”
“...sadly.”

Sighing loudly, I got up and started to head over. After slowly walking to up the gate, the people guarding the Shelter asked me if they should let her in.

“Rok Soo, finally! I’ve been finding my way over here for like two hours. Let me in! I’ll help you out!”
“...What are you wearing?”
“...It’s a long story.”
“Alright, you can come in. You’ll need to explain to me what’s going on though.”
“Yes, sir!”

Mock saluting, she waltzed her way into the Shelter grounds, and immediately walked over to mister Jang Man Soo. She leaned a bit forward so she could make eye contact with the sitting man, her hands laced together behind her back.

“Hey there mister, are you going to help out our Rok Soo with your ability?”
“Wait a minute, you know about my ability too!? What on Earth is going on?”
“You see mister, Rok Soo told you he got an ability right? So, just think about it as though I have something similar. Don’t worry too much about whether you'll be helpful either. You’re stronger than you think. You also won’t need to worry about moving around because a strong friend will be arriving soon. So mister, please help him.”
“Uh… sure.”
“Thank you so much, mister!”

Upon Jang Man Soo’s confused sounding reply agreeing to help, Karin pivoted on her left foot, twirling back around to look at me, her skirt fluttering from her movement and a happy shit-eating grin on her face.

“This is great! Hey Rok Soo, what next? Take me with you~”
“...Karin.”
“Yes?”
“Why are you here?”

Karin proceeded to touch the back of her neck with a hand, genuinely looking awkward and a bit embarrassed. Embarrassed? What even is this, this chaotic punk is never embarrassed.

“Hehe… Um, I didn’t mean to? I’m not exactly sure myself… It just kinda happened… But hey! I have my pouch, so I can help you with your plan for everyone to survive and your plan to go to Busan!”
“What the hell, how do you even know that? Wait, never mind, I shouldn’t ask. I assume you know my plan for tomorrow?”
“Yup!”
“...Alright, for now, stay by my side as we introduce you to the others.”
“Okay~ Oh right! Rok Soo, since my name is foreign, call me noonim!”
“No.”
“Pleaseee?”
“No.”

‘I really have difficulty handling her, she’s always so free-spirited. Why is she even wanting me to call her noonim all of a sudden? I can’t keep up with her pace. Also, somehow I get the feeling she’s being more considerate of me than usual?’

"Grandma Kim, Noona, Seung Won. This is my… acquaintance. She'll be helping us out. Her name is Karin."
"Hello there, it's very nice to meet you. I'm our Rok Soo's friend. Please take good care of me~"
"Aigoo, what a pretty young lady you are. I am called Grandma Kim. I help heal the people of this Shelter. Thank you for getting along with Rok Soo."
"H-Hello, I'm Lee Seung Won! Um, it's very nice to meet you."
"I'm Lee Jin Joo, Seung Son's noona. Sorry about him, it's been a long time since we've seen someone as beautiful as you."
"I-I see. It's very nice to meet you all. Thank you very much for taking care of Rok Soo…. So, we're gonna go chat over there now. I look forward to getting to know you some other time, okay?"

We went over and sat down in a corner of the first floor building together to get some space from the people around us as we waited for Park Jin Tae and his group to come back from hunting. Karin held her knees to her chest, slightly rocking back and forth. Her face was downcast and she was even lightly biting her lip. This is completely unlike her usual bubbly demeanor, is something the matter? ...Should I ask first? I’m not good at taking care of others though. Her mouth opened, and I listened carefully when Karin started to speak. She was almost whispering, and her tone was serious, unlike usual.

“Hey Rok Soo, please call me Evelyn while we’re in this test of yours.”
“Evelyn?”
“Yeah, it was my name before I became Karin.”

‘What the heck kind of bomb is she dropping all of a sudden? Is Karin the same as me, and that’s why she knows I’m Kim Rok Soo? Is that how those sorts of things work?’

“Are you a transmigrator?”
“Um, not exactly. Do you want to hear about it? It’s not a good story, and I know you don’t usually care for people’s pasts.”
“... That’s true, but since we have time and I have nothing better to do, I might as well.”
“Thanks. So before I became Karin Orsena, I was a fifteen year old girl named Evelyn. I lived in a house in the sticks with my mother and stepfather in the United States along with a little brother. I had been six years old when my mother and father divorced, so I remembered everything, and it was hard to accept my new reality… Anyways, that’s not important. In that house, my mother verbally abused me and my stepfather hit me, and I was bullied at school… Ahaha, it was a rough time. I did my best to hold on as long as I could, but after my birthday passed and nothing changed… I couldn’t take it anymore and I tried to commit suicide. And turns out, I succeeded. Everything had gone black, and I was floating in a void of nothingness. I wasn’t fully conscious and I had no senses. It was just me.”
“Mhm.”
“But then I woke up in Karin Orsena’s body. Honestly, I was kind of looking forward to this because I read a lot of isekai novels before, but then I received her memories. It really hurt. Apparently, Karin committed suicide at about the same time as me after becoming tired of life. I thought she had somehow given me her memories and then passed on, but reality is weirder than that. My soul seems to have slipped into this world and ‘swallowed’ Karin’s. Our souls and identities have partially fused- I am now two souls but also only one, and her soul is now working similar to a golem’s core to power my soul. We- I, I am an anomaly. Not quite transmigrated, not quite reincarnated, but both and also something in between. Ah, I-I’m sorry, I’m sure this is a lot to take in and sounds crazy, even I think it is. But um… yeah, that’s my story?”

‘Wow, shit. That really is a lot to take in. I know I was the one who suggested she tell me but… that’s even more complicated than my situation. No wonder she was acting strange. This girl has been through so much. I’ll need to tell Beacrox to make some food she likes when we get back.’

“... I see. Are you okay?”

Her eyes opened wide with surprise before slowly nodding her head. She had a small smile on her face, and her eyes seemed a little wet, but she didn’t start crying.

“What? Oh, um. Yeah, I’m doing okay now. I’m happy where I am. I like being with you and your group. It’s warm and I feel loved here.”
“I see. That’s good. As you know, I’m a transmigrator.”
“Yup. Thanks for telling me.”
“I’ll call you Evelyn while we are here.”
“Thank you so much. Cale, you’ve helped me more than you know.”
"..."
"Hey Rok Soo?”
“...What.”
“I’m glad I’m here.”
“Why? You hate situations like this.”
“Because you won’t be alone.”
“...”
“Rok Soo.”
“What.”
“It’s gonna be okay. Choi Han will be here soon. Don’t be too mad at him.”
“Okay… Wait, what?”
“Yep, the plan will go well since he and I are here with you.”
“...Evelyn.”
“Yes~?”
“Haaah... You’re so frustrating… but thank you.”
“You’re welcome, Cale.”

‘What does she mean that Choi Han will be here soon and that I've helped her more than I know?? Well, whatever. It’s fine since she seems better now.’

“Hey, it seems that punk Jin Tae is back.”
“Seems so. I’ll go greet him. Stay here for now and come upstairs with me once I come back with them.”
“Alrighty.”

Karin’s POV

I watched Rok Soo walk out through the gate to meet Park Jin Tae outside of the Shelter’s walls. I twiddled my thumbs waiting for him to come back. Alright, it looks like he convinced that bastard just as expected. I watched Grandma Kim, and those two Lee siblings approach him and Jin Tae, glancing at me once or twice. Guys, at least be more discreet about it... I know, I’m visibly a foreigner and yet I look close with Rok Soo. I totally seem out of place here. Rok Soo finally motioned for me to come join him and the rest and go with him up to the third floor. Hehe, I’m looking forward to seeing him put that foul mouthed punk in place.
...I was stopped from approaching by that dude named… Chul Min, was it? That coward.

“Hey, who are you?”

Rok Soo walked over to him and verified my identity. He looks visibly worried I’ll mess up somehow. Hey, I’m not THAT bad! He spoke to Park Jin Tae, and it was so weird to see him speak politely… Who is this? This isn’t our boy, it must be an impostor. Cale honey, polite speech is not becoming of you.

“She’s with me. Is it okay if she comes too, sir?”
“...Sure.”
“Yay~”
“Evelyn, shush.”
“Okay.”

Up in a third floor room, Park Jin Tae sat down on a couch while Grandma Kim sat on a chair. The rest of us had to stand. I parked myself right next to Cale, as though I was trying to guard him. I kind of was planning on doing so until Choi Han got here, anyway. This works. Everyone else was staring at Cale, their eyes brimming with questions. Honestly, it’s kind of funny.

“So, what was it you wanted to tell me?”
“I awakened my ability.”
“...That is completely unexpected.”

Grandma Kim basically glowed, and the siblings were almost bouncing in excitement.

“My goodness Rok Soo! that’s wonderful!”
“Wow, Kim Rok Soo!”
“That’s great, hyung!”

Then Cale pulled a Cale, and it was really really funny to see the reactions on everyone’s faces.

“That is why I am able to see the future.”
“...”
“...What?”

I facepalmed. Cale, why did you think that was a good way to phrase it??

“Rok So-”
“Evelyn, shush. Ah, of course, I’m also able to see a few pieces of information other people cannot see.”
“...”
“What nonsense-”
(Same, Chul Min. Same.)

Cale got up and walked toward Park Jin Tae, and that Chul Min dude tried to stop him. I intercepted by putting myself between them. This bastard will not touch our Cale ever again. Not if I have anything to do about it. Park Jin Tae held up his hand for him to stop.

“Hey!”
“Don’t you touch him.”
“Both of you, stop.”
“Fine.”
“Yes, leader-nim.”
“... Kim Rok Soo.”

Cale is right next to Jin Tae now, and bent down to whisper something in his ear. Welp, he must be telling him he knows about his other ability to convince him that he really did awaken. The thing about awakening is all bullshit though. I can’t hear what he’s saying, but Jin Tae’s eyes opened in surprise and he stuttered in response to what was said. Cale’s calm voice echoed through the room.

“Y-you, you!”
“Tomorrow at noon, there will be a minute where the sun is covered by a shadow. After that minute, all central shelters around the world will become ineffective. The nearby monsters will all start to attack the central shelters that are no longer useful. They will come charging forth like a tsunami.”

Everyone was silent until that bastard Chul Min broke it, spewing all kinds of nonsense and rude things towards Cale. When he started to approach Cale as though he was going to grab him by the neck, I prepared #3 just in case. Small whirring sounds could be heard in the small room. Everyone froze except for Cale and I. He looked relaxed as ever, but I could tell he was worried a fight would break out and negotiations would break down.

“#3, activate protocol 15, ‘protect the princess’.”
“Yes boss.”

#3’s gun pointed at Chul Min, daring him to get closer. I stood in between him and Cale as well. Park Jin Tae shouted at Chul Min. Good, he was in the wrong after all.

“That’s enough, Lee Chul Min!”
“Leader-nim!”
“Enough!”

He turned back to Cale once I cancelled #3’s command and Chul Min backed away into a corner of the room. Yeah, you better back off you bastard.

“...Explain in detail.”
“Hyung, this-”
“Rok Soo.”

Grandma Kim had a forced smile as she asked Cale if he was serious and understood the weight of his words. Of course, he responded that he did. He reiterated that tomorrow there will definitely be an eclipse and the monsters will swarm the shelters afterward.

“The monsters will not randomly attack together. They will attack based on their grade.”
“Grade?”
“Yes, sir. Grade. It is based on a monster’s strength and abilities.”
“...Monster Grades-”
“It starts with those at Grade 3 and below. Then the Grade 2 monsters will come. Finally, the Grade 1 monsters will attack. Of course, Grade 1 monsters are the strongest.”
“...Are you crazy?”

Park Jin Tae proceeded to call Cale crazy and to tell him one more thing about himself, to which Cale responded by calling him out as a foul-mouthed tsundere crazy bastard who would try to evacuate everyone else before running away himself. That was highly amusing to witness. Park Jin Tae laughed for a little bit before looking at Cale with a serious gaze.

“What is your plan?”
“Leader-nim!”
“Mister Lee Chul Min, shut up and trust your leader-nim. This isn’t some sort of joke. ‘Kay?”
“... She’s right Chul Min. Keep your mouth shut.”

Lee Chul Min, shut up. Cale explained his plan to all of us

“We must create an attack team. We will then initiate a defensive battle. The center of the defensive battle will be Jang Man Soo. It needs to be him. The mister’s ability specializes in defense.”
“... Mr. Jang Man Soo awakened an ability?”
“That’s right. You can confirm it tomorrow. The mister will be the center for defense. And Park Jin Tae, you will be the center of the attack team.”
“Does a Grade 1 monster have to be as strong as the bastard with three horns?’
“Yes, that monster is one of the Grade 1 monsters.”
“Those things will come charging in like a tsunami?”
“After the Grade 3 and 2 monsters go by.”

Cale nodded his head in affirmation. Lee Chul Min opened his mouth again, subconsciously starting to speak.

“O-Our attack team can’t handle it if more than four of them come at once! We will die! But they’re going to come like a tsunami? How is that possible?”
“Of course, there will be less of them than the Grade 3 and Grade 2 monsters.”
“That’s obvious! Even still, there has to be at least ten of them right? Especially if all of them nearby come to attack!”
“Definitely more.”
“...We can’t last through that. It is impossible. All of us can’t survive.”

Cale shook his head sternly at that, as though what he said was nonsense. It’s true that it seems impossible, especially for these normal people. But you see, we have a Cale, and I am also here. Choi Han should be arriving soon too. It is totally doable.

“No. We will persist. We can definitely move to the new central shelter without anyone dying.”
“...How?”
“Data. I have all of the data regarding those monsters. Weaknesses, movement patterns, attacking styles, destructive force. I also know the order in which they will attack. All of that information is in my head. We can win because we have this data. Please trust my data. Then we will all survive.”
“...Lee Chul Min.”
“Y-Yes, leader-nim?”
“We are changing to emergency status immediately. We don’t have much time, so we will trust your prophecy for now, Kim Rok Soo. Lee Chul Min. Call over all ability users with attacking abilities!”
“Yes, si-”

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!

“Aaaaaah! What was that?!”
“O-Outside!”
“What? Did a monster already appear?!”
Cale went to look out the window after hearing the sudden explosion. I peeked out the window too from behind him, and I felt my mouth stretching into a grin. A familiar black Yong was shooting up into the sky. Cale was so surprised he even stuttered while trying to form words.

“Rok Soo, Choi Han has finally arrived!”
“...T-This crazy!”

Cale frowned slightly and rushed towards the door, pushing Park Jin Tae out of the way as he dashed out the stairs and out the front door of the building.

“Hey, what’s going on?! Kim Rok Soo!”
“...A black dragon?”

I couldn’t help but laugh as I gave a brief explanation before booking it out the door after Cale on #3 which I had turned into a sort of motor ride powered by my mana.

“Choi Han is here! Yay~”
“What? Hey, wait!”
“Bye bye~ #3, transport mode!”
“Yes boss!”

I quickly caught up with Cale as he ran in the direction the black Yong came from. The sparkly aura dissipated into the air, but at least it was clear the direction it’s coming from. Twenty year old Kim Rok Soo. He’s so skinny, it hurts my heart to see his body like this… Would he want a lift? Gliding alongside Cale on #3, I decided to ask if he wanted some help.

“Need a lift?”
“Ha, haha.”
“Hold on tight, okay? Gotcha, let’s go~”

I pulled him onto #3 behind me, and he grabbed onto my shoulders for support. Picking up speed we soon reached the boundary where monsters could start to attack us, but that wasn’t important. I could see a shock of black hair and the glint of a certain swordmaster’s blade quickly coming into view.

“Hey Choi Han! Long time no see!”

Choi Han’s head snapped to the side at the sound of my voice, and upon seeing the figure behind me he started running towards us. Alright, let’s disembark #3 and reunite with our feral doberman knight~

“Rok Soo, we’re getting off now.”
“Sure”
“#3, disengage transport mode.”
“Yes, boss.”

Whirrrrrrrr~

By the time our feet touched the ground, Choi Han had reached us. He looked surprised to see me, but that was nothing compared to when he saw Cale. He froze in shock. Cale seemed almost as shocked as Choi Han, but perhaps due to already meeting me here he retained his calm better than he did in the novel. That doesn’t mean he spoke properly though. Cute.

“You… Choi Han. Why are you?”
“You seem to be around my age right now, when is this?”
“How did you..?”
“I found a way to squeeze in.”
“What?”
“Cale-nim, you are currently imprisoned in a black orb inside of the Endable Kingdom. I went to the Endable Kingdom, but I was unable to get near it. That is why I found a way to squeeze into Cale-nim’s mind, into the test.”
“How can you get involved-”
“I made a deal with the God of Death.”
“...What?”
“I needed to help you, Cale-nim.”

Hey, you yandere puppy punk. I’m still here, you know.

“Hey Choi Han.”
“What is it, Karin?”
“Your deal. You didn’t happen to agree to such unspecific terms like ‘matching with Raon’s lifespan’ without proper numbers being provided, did you?”
“Ah, ahem... How did you know?”

Ah, I want to slap him.

“Did you ask if the matching goes both ways?”
“No…”

Alright. I’m slapping him.

“#3, activate protocol ‘slap a bitch’.”
“Yes, boss”

#3 detached one of its legs which I then proceeded to infuse with my mana before immediately turning to smack this fool that has potentially endangered a small child because he was feeling rushed. Choi Han was not expecting an attack from me, and the metal panel successfully made contact with his cheek. Damn, he reinforced his face with aura at the last moment. Well, whatever. I’m not done yet.

“Rok Soo, tell Choi Han to withdraw his aura. This fool needs to be hit a few more times. He’s made a mistake that can’t be undone. He’s signed a highly exploitable contract involving a life that is not his own, and who is also literally just a small child. I can’t forgive this.”

Cale looked at Choi Han, then my face, and then after thinking for a moment a spark of realization and then anger and dismay appeared in his eyes. He nodded in approval. Choi Han looked at Cale with a face of confusion before recalling his aura. This buffoon really doesn’t realize what he has done.

SLAP
SMACK
SLAP

I must have slapped Choi Han around 12 times. His face was red now. I didn’t feel any better.
I handed the panel back to #3 after the deed was completed. Cale has been watching this with a dumbfounded expression this entire time, but I don’t really care. I’m pissed.

“#3, thanks for lending me this. End protocol ‘slap a bitch’.”
“Yes, boss!”

Choi Han is holding his face with a shocked expression, His eyes tell me he still doesn’t understand why I just whacked him upside the head. Now then, let’s change that.

“Choi Han.”
“What? Why did you slap me? I don’t understand.”
“What if it does go both ways. Think about it. What if you die prematurely, and Raon ends up dying on the spot as well? Huh? What if this means that if the White Star kills you he gets a two-for-one deal? If Raon dies before you, do you die as well even if everyone else is still alive? Huh? We don’t even know, and you already agreed to it! How dare you. I know you felt panicked and desperate, but come on. I can’t believe you agreed to such a sketchy deal. Vague wording in a contract is just loopholes asking to be exploited you know. Listen here, I truly am happy you came here for Cale, even at the cost of your lifespan. It’s true. I’m glad you’re here. However, if this deal you made without checking the fine print ends up endangering such a small child like Raon, even after you’re dead I’ll come find you and beat the shit out of you. I don’t know if there’s even dust in the afterlife, but I’ll make it fly. You understand? It could be fine, but until we know for sure, you must keep yourself completely unharmed no matter what. You may be the vanguard, but consider yourself directly carrying two more lives on your shoulders. Cale and Raon could be in serious danger if you fuck up after this. You hear me?”

Choi Han's opened wide with realization and his face contorted with horror. He looked like he was going to cry.

“I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize…”

“Don’t you dare apologize. Apologizing in this situation doesn’t solve anything but make yourself feel better. Raon’s life has only just begun, Choi Han. He is only six, four of which were pain and suffering. Raon has literally only been living a real life for two years now, and you have installed a guillotine over his head that could fall at any moment. Choi Han, you have potentially sentenced a six year old to death in your moment of distress and panic. I don’t believe you truly comprehend what you have done.”
“...Yeah. You’re right.”
“Rather than saying sorry or starting to cry or feeling bad or regretful, take responsibility for the consequences of your decision and prevent that guillotine blade from falling no matter what. Consider Raon’s life directly linked to yours, and act accordingly. I will try to find a way to fix this, but you will never do anything like this ever again. Period.”
“...Yes, ma’am.”

“...Ahem, ahem.”

Hearing a fake cough, Choi Han and I spun around to see a very awkward looking Park Jin Tae and Lee Seung Won. I looked at Cale, my eyes asking ‘how much did they hear?’... He avoided eye contact. Shit.

“Who is she, and who is this?”
“Hyung, who are these people?”

...Hehe. Oopsies?
