Suspicious Success

Summary:

This uses the Dsmp CHARACTERS only. Not the actual streamers

Dream was happy.

He had the love of his life by his side, he was in perfect harmony with his blob self. Everything was going well in their peaceful, secluded home.

It’s no secret Technoblade is considered an enemy to the servers structure. His anti-government message tends to make others in the greater SMP cringe.

The pair try their best to keep others from spotting them.

What will happen if someone sees them together?

Notes:

I’m back y’all!

Sorry it took so long, I’m currently doing a ton of work on my aquariums to prepare them for new stocking.

I should be back to a semi-regular schedule soon!

Chapter 1: Contentment and Intuition

Chapter Text

Dream let out a laugh as the clang of swords rang out through the valley. His opponent was none other than Technoblade; the god, the warrior, the lover. His lover.

They’d kept the relationship a secret from others for just over a month, even from Phil. That was, admittedly, not very easy, as the man and his flock of crows visited Technoblade quite often.

Dream’s ragged breaths put a smile on techno’s face. “Oh, you’re tired already?” He teased. “What happened to my great little warrior~?”

Dream glared playfully at him, taking the piglin down with a swift blow. “Absolutely nothing, dear. Just waiting for the perfect moment to strike.”

Technoblade grinned and nudged the point of the sword away, allowing Dream to help him up. Neither of them were making any process; at this point they sparred purely for fun.

The early morning sun was just starting to leak into their little forest as they finished the match, spending a moment in silence. They tended to spend bits of time like this; nothing else if not just appreciating the other’s presence.

Techno was the one who broke the silence. “We have to go to the SMP today, right?”

Dream nodded; Techno needed food for their horses and he himself was scheduled to meet up with George. “Yeah... it’s going to be weird pretending I don’t like you.” As if that wasn’t further from the truth... he liked- no, loved Technoblade more than anyone else.

He could feel the blob’s faint protesting. Who would want to act like they hate their lover?

Techno reached out ran his fingers through Dream’s hair. “It’ll be ok, I’ll be waiting for you when you get home.” It wasn’t everyone who got to see such a tender smile from the disgraced god. Dream couldn’t help but cheer up every time he saw it himself.

Dream pulled away to start heading out, leaving techno with a forehead kiss and a happy smile.

The trek back to SMP territory was always long, but also rather calming. He liked his quiet time, times where he could just appreciate existence and not have to worry about awful, awful violence.

Well, it’s not like he hated violence per say. He absolutely adored chaos, but a break was always good when dealing with constant fighting to survive.

The walk was short lived, however, when he saw that the hatch to his old base was open.

Someone was in his base.

Dream creeped forward, axe in hand, ready to take down anyone who dared to attempt this.

He visibly relaxed when George popped out of the trapdoor and not some enemy of his.

“Oh! Dream!” George scrambled out of the hatch and covered it back up. “Where have you been?! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!”

Dream didn’t deign to show any emotion. Warriors persona and all. “We were scheduled to meet up today. I don’t see why you have any reason to be going through my base.”

George looked at him incredulously. “Four days ago.” He corrected. “We were supposed to meet four days ago. You always send notes when you’re going to be late, can you blame me for being worried?”

What a stupid question, of course he could! Dream was always so meticulous with his time, he could never have forgott-

Oh.

Technoblade. He’d spend a few days resting with Technoblade after their fight. He’d been so sure it was only one day, how did three pass by without his knowledge?!

“That still doesn’t give you reason to search my base.”

George sighed and shook his head. “It’s empty, Dream! All of your stuff is gone! You’re talking as if you don’t have people that worry about you!”

Ooh, low blow. He knew George cared about him. But he also knew techno cared for him. No offense to his friend, but he did find himself more inclined to spend time with his lover.

“Someone was lurking outside my base. I moved. Before you say anything, this will continue to be our meet up spot.” Firm, assertive, cold. His usual dark facade. Like hell he was letting George see he’d gone soft.

George seemed satisfied with that. “As long as I know you’re ok...” he cared for Dream, genuinely cared for him. Like an older brother kind of way, even though they were fairly close to the same age. “Just sent me a note next time you’re going to be late, please?”

Dream nodded. He was rushed; George could see that. Time passed very quickly in the greater SMP territory. Something he assumed had to do with XD and their control over the terrain. All he wanted was to get back to the tundra to spend time with his lover.

“Alright... that was all I got for today.” George sighed. “Are you sure nothing else is going on?”

George had always been good at getting information from people. Not like an interrogation, but voluntary. He was dreams informant for a reason. Not only was he good at suckering information from people:

He was extremely observant.

George watched Dream leave the clearing, knowing damm well he was hiding something. And he was DETERMINED to find out what.
