Summary
To be the child of a god was to be the equivalent of royalty.
Daine, daughter of Weiryn, had been raised as such—though her father had no priesthoods dedicated to him alone, so she had been passed from the priestesses in service of the Great Mother Goddess to the priests of Mithros and back again, occasionally staying in the House of Gainel or Pelmry's schools or the Smith's God's temples. She spent a great deal of her childhood on the road.
When the king of Galla sent her to court at the age of thirteen, she was finally allowed to settle, and it was at that time that she met Arram Draper, her first true retainer.
