"...'m not cold."
"I can see you shivering."
The temperature is rising as noon approaches, melting the leftovers of last night's snow into sludgy slush. Even so, it's frigid enough to empty the streets, with most people opting to stay indoors.
Nishida and Minami don't have that luxury.
The former is well-equipped in a winter coat and cozy beanie, while the latter sticks to his usual philosophy of 'nothing above the belt'.
"I'll be fine!" Minami insists, rubbing his goosebump-covered arms. "Boss said he'll be back soon. 'sides, he doesn't wear a shirt either, and he never complains."
"At least he has a jacket. And he's so prideful, he'd probably rather freeze to death than ever admit he's cold..." He shoots Minami a look that's somewhere between exasperation and genuine worry. "Almost like someone else I know."
"Ya don't gotta act like my damn mom. Gonna be naggin' me to clean my room next?" He huffs and shoves his hands into his pockets.
Nishida takes off the coat and drapes it around the other's shoulders. Minami can't help but sigh — it's lined with soft fur and still warm from being worn. He hugs it closer to himself, even though he's too stubborn to put his arms through the sleeves and wear it correctly.
"Feeling better yet?"
He didn't realize how miserable he felt until he started to thaw out. His skin still stings from the wind, and his hands are stiff and achy. "Yeah, but... don't you need this?"
"I have a long sleeve shirt on. I'll be alright."
Minami grins. "If ya get chilly, we might have to huddle together for warmth."
"Good idea." He puts his arm around Minami's waist, between the fluffy jacket and his bare skin.
Despite the weather, both of their faces feel burning hot.
