If I were you...

Summary:

...I'd do the same.

Midoriya doesn't know how to feel when the villains show a different side, and when they all act like family around each other, he's even more confused. Why did villains understand him better than his own classmates?

OR: U.A has a Villain Rehabilitation plan and Midoriya happened to be selected to show the villains around. How are the members of LoV going to treat him when they learn about his past with Bakugou?

NOTICE: AS OF RIGHT NOW, NO CONTINUATION CHAPTERS ARE BEING MADE, HOWEVER I PLAN ON REWRITING MANY OF THE CHAPTERS. THE PLOT IN EACH WILL REMAIN THE EXACT SAME, I JUST DONT THINK IVE WORDED THEM CORRECTLY TO WHAT I MEANT FOR THEM.
no new fic will be posted for the rewrite, each chapter will simply get edited. sorry for leaving this fic abandoned for so long ( ̄^ ̄|| )

Chapter 1: New Arrivals

Notes:

Heads up, I have the barest idea of first aid since the only injuries I get are all just scrapes, so please feel free to correct me if anything is incorrect or just doesn't make sense.

Also when I refer to Deku as Izuku, I'm writing from his point of view, and when I refer to him as Midoriya, it's someone elses point of view, usually Aizawa's.
Dabi and Shigaraki are both around 19, and Twice, for the sake of how young he looked with his costume on, is 17 or 18 (he's 31? thirty fucking one? why does no one tell me this shit? he looks like a crackhead teen when he has his mask on goddamnit)

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The classroom of 1-A was noisy as ever, everyone finding something to talk about despite it only being Monday morning. Izuku was sitting at his desk, chatting happily with Iida while Todoroki and Uraraka plotted on how to max out his father’s credit card. Just as the bell rang, Iida shouted for everyone to be in their seats while the door banged open. No one was really surprised when Aizawa walked through, having grown used to their teacher’s horrible mood at the start of the week, though this time he seemed more exhausted than usual.

“I have some news for you, class,” Any idle chatter died down as Aizawa leaned on the podium, looking a few minutes away from collapsing. “Several members of the League of Villains have been captured and chosen for a new program. The Villain Rehabilitation program started up recently, and 1-A has been selected to deal with rehabilitating the LoV because we’ve had the most experience with them. So when I call them in I know I can’t expect you to immediately trust them, in fact I hope you don’t, but you will have to treat them like any other classmate. They’re going to train with you from now on, and I expect no discrimination, no matter what grudges you may hold. It’s a hero's job to save people, and while they may be villains, they will need to be ‘saved’ from the path they’re falling down. You can come in now-”

“I’m offended you think there’s something here that needs saving.”

The face of Shigaraki Tomura came walking through the door, and some students bristled angrily while others shook in their seats. He smirked at Aizawa as he walked through and stood at the front, quirk suppression bracelets around his wrists. He crossed his arms and leaned onto the chalkboard while more villains appeared.

Dabi, Toga, and Twice looked around before returning to whatever conversation they were having before. The students caught onto the words ‘burn it with fire’ and ‘then it makes it taste like ash’ when Aizawa covered the three villain’s mouths with his scarf, migraine visible in his face. Toga giggled while Dabi smiled at the class, looking towards Todoroki with a weird expression and Twice’s face couldn’t be seen behind his mask, which was still in place (for reasons unknown to the class but we know those reasons *wink*)(if you dont, its because of dissociative identity disorder that twice has, google it).

“I am in absolutely no mood to deal with these guys, at all,” Aizawa glared at the whole room, including the villains. “And thank god Nedzu decided that my duty as a teacher meant I was too busy to be babysitting these absolute children. So by some crazy stroke of luck he told me to do a random draw to pick a student to ‘help’ these guys around the school. Give ‘em a basic tour, have a dorm room next to theirs, help make sure they get to classes on time, whatever.”

The class outburst into noise at that, and Izuku stared blankly at the front as he watched Shigaraki. He looked… sad. He cocked his head to the side, trying to understand the ‘villain’ standing at the front of his class, when Aizawa pulled out a box of names.

“Firstly, I’ll pick who’s taking care of Shigaraki and Dabi. I know that there’s four of them so four of you should do it, but we decided it would be better for them to be paired with someone who’s familiar, just so that they don’t snap or whatever it was Nedzu reasoned,” Aizawa shuffled the box while Shigaraki started whispering to Dabi. “Whelp, Midoriya Izuku, have fun. You can take them on a tour tomorrow, and maybe today to get them used to the area, but you gotta wait til’ this period is over, we still have a lesson to go through. Just wait for me to draw the next person...”

Izuku shot out of his chair, eyes wide as he stared at his teacher. He could feel eyes on him and he flushed, sitting back down swiftly while Uraraka and Iida shot him sympathetic looks. Everyone could hear Mineta shouting about how disgusting murderers shouldn’t be allowed in a school, though everyone had learned to tune him out at that point. When he heard Bakugou get called out as the other person to help the villains around, he hunched over, making himself smaller while Bakugou exploded.

“I don’t wanna look after shitty extras!” The popping of his quirk filled the room and Aizawa merely glared his quirk away, watching the ashy blond slowly move back to his seat. “Pick someone else, I refuse.”

“Midoriya didn’t refuse, are you saying you can’t handle a few villains?” Aizawa’s glare cut through the tension in the room and Bakugou glared right back before huffing, the closest to agreement you could get.

“Ok, so you can all go and sit by your respective ‘tour guide’s’ now,” Aizawa shooed them away from the front, leaving Izuku to deal with the two villains who were awkwardly leaning against the wall next to his desk, Shigaraki sighing before sliding down the wall and onto the floor. He caught their eyes and hesitantly smiled, facing back to the board soon after, utterly oblivious to the wary shock on their faces as he turned back to the board.

As Aizawa began to drone on about villains and how to analyse their fighting styles and quirks, Izuku began quietly muttering to himself about it on his own. Aizawa merely looked at his student, cutting him off before he could go down into a tornado of mumbling.

“Is there something you’d like to add, Problem Child?”

Izuku gulped when he was called out, looking around before he spoke up.

“I was just thinking that Shigaraki’s quirk could be really useful for rescue…” Izuku knew he was getting weird looks from his classmates but Aizawa’s face urged him to continue. “He could disintegrate any rubble that could have trapped someone, and if he’s worried about disintegrating the person then we could get him fingerless gloves, the ones that have two fingers covered or something… Then there’s Dabi, who’s quirk would be great for heroism too. I mean, Endeavour is an asshole but he’s still a hero. And Dabi would be great for underground work. He co uld use his scars as part of his disguise and work undercover or as a spy on the inside since even if villains don’t recognise him as someone from the League of Villains then he’d be a convincing villain just from the obvious trauma that comes from having too many scars and-

As the class stared at him like he’d grown two heads, Aizawa cut Izuku off once more before he passed out from a lack of oxygen. The villains in question glanced at each other while the class started whispering about how crazy he was to have seen the good in bloody murderers. Izuku hunched over in his seat, reminded of the days when Aldera first found out about his quirklessness. He looked down at his notebook, his body feeling numb as he began picking up habits that had been left behind in Aldera. His eyes focused and unfocused on his book and his nervous, embarrassed expression faded away into a blank, empty look. The class’ whispering dulled to a mere buzz, and he stayed silent, ignoring them while he numbly began to write out his train of thought at speeds that should have been inhuman. Dabi stared at Aizawa, wondering if he would do anything about the blatant disrespect while Toga and Twice sat off to the side, obviously sitting away from the explosive blond. Shigaraki decided to poke Izuku, wondering what the bushy-haired kid was up to.

Aizawa could see the way Midoriya’s eyes clouded over, and he made a mental note to bring that up at a later date. He saw Dabi stare and him, and he stared back for a second when the burnt male gestured towards his class. He sighed, rubbing his nose as he cleared his throat. He saw that he had the attention of the class, except for Midoriya, and he couldn’t help but sigh again. Aizawa saw Shigaraki poke Midoriya on the ankle, and he hid his smile behind his capture weapon when he saw his student focus back into the present. He missed the way Midoriya smiled down at the ashen man, turning his notebook towards him. He turned to the class and decided that it was the perfect time to tell them all why the program was made.

“The whole reason why the Villain Rehab program was for exactly what Midoriya said,” That certainly got the whole class to shut up. Good. “We should all know that quirks don’t define who we are, and just because they have a quirk that you might think is bad does not mean it’s a villains quirk. If there was a knife sitting on the kitchen table, would you call it evil? It’s not hurting anyone and it can’t hurt anyone. It’s an innocent blade, but as soon as someone picks it up, it could go several ways. It could be used to hurt someone, but even then it can’t be the one at fault. It’s just a tool , and that is exactly what a quirk is. A quirk is just a tool that has become a part of society, but it can’t be evil unless you choose to use it like that. Even if these people have used their quirks in such a way it could be villainous, they can use them to be heroic just like Izuku said. Same goes for you; you could all easily kill someone with those quirks, and you don’t see me mocking anyone for helping you use them in more heroic ways.”

He could see the looks that the four villains were giving each other, and then he moved his eyes to Midoriya. Midoriya who was looking at his notebook, words strewn across the page while he rapidly filled it, thinking up ways that the villains could help with rescue or hero work despite what the class just did. He found it somewhat concerning, the way Midoriya could so easily lose concentration and ignore anything anyone said in class, yet reacting whenever Bakugou spoke. He really should have looked into it a while ago, why did he only notice it after the villain program was implemented? Either way, something was going on.

As the bell for the end of class rang out, Izuku packed up his bag, planning to begin the tour for the two villains, when he heard Twice and Toga begin giggling loudly at each other. Bakugou’s growling could be heard as he quickly grew impatient with the two. Izuku froze when a boom sounded across the classroom, flashbacks to Aldera flooding into his mind. Bakugou’s voice shouting at the villains to shut up were drowned out by his pounding heartbeat and the echoes of explosions that used to burn against his skin. He quietly ducked his head, bag falling to the floor as he subtly covered his ears.

Izuku heard Twice yelp, probably from surprise at Bakugou, and Izuku saw the way his hands began glowing brighter before he jumped out of his seat. He ran over, knowing from experience that no one ever did anything, and he moved in front of Twice, letting Bakugou’s hand fall and explode on his shoulder instead. The class fell silent as Izuku worriedly checked over Twice, noting that the forearm of the man’s costume was burnt away, but he was relatively uninjured. Izuku sighed, straightening up Twice’s mask that had lifted up slightly, and didn’t notice the way Toga stared at him, or the look of concern on Aizawa’s face.

“Hey so, can we go to lunch sensei?” Izuku looked over to Aizawa, who nodded slowly in response to his question, and he smiled, rubbing his neck awkwardly. He looked down at his shoulder, confusion obvious on his face as he realised. “Oh…”

The class was openly staring at the steaming flesh of Izuku's shoulder, most of them horrified.

Shigaraki’s face twisted into conflicted anger. “Did you not notice the third degree burns that are practically covering a quarter of your torso?!”

Izuku’s face seemed to dull as it set into an oddly fake smile. “It’s fine, it doesn’t hurt me.”

Dabi silently passed Izuku’s backpack to him, and with a smile, Izuku walked out the door, beckoning for Shigaraki and Dabi to follow. Instead, all four villains ended up walking out the door, awkwardly following behind him.

Izuku smiled as he slowed his pace, walking in the middle of the group.

“Hope you don’t mind us leaving early,” Izuku poked his shoulder, trying to get a feeling back in his arm. “I can’t stand the smell of nitroglycerin, and I probably would’ve gone into a panic attack if I was in there for any longer. The atmosphere reminded me too much of middle school.”

Inwardly, Izuku was wondering why he felt like telling the villains this. He knew that Aizawa said he’d prefer it if he didn’t place in the people who tried to murder him previously, but he couldn’t help it. Their faces said it all, he knew that they’d understand.

Notes:

Is it clear I had no fucking idea how his timetable works? Because I'm letting you know now, I have no fuckin idea how it works.

This whole chapter was just an attempt to get some form of an idea into written form so that it wouldn't just rot in my head. I don't see enough villain rehab works out their so I decided to make my own, though it's hella messy. You can probably tell which parts I had no idea of what to do and just did whatever to fill it in. When this sorta shit runs through my head, it normally comes in chunks and I end up struggling to fill the in between with other stuff.

Chapter 2: Learning More

Notes:

I'm bad at first aid or just infirmary stuff in general so please ignore my shittyness and don't question what I was trying to do.

Also I will post a new chapter once I complete the chapter ahead of it. Just so that I can keep some form of control over it ya know?

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“Hope you don’t mind us leaving early,” Izuku poked his shoulder, trying to get a feeling back in his arm. “I can’t stand the smell of nitroglycerin, and I probably would’ve gone into a panic attack if I was in there for any longer. The atmosphere reminded me too much of middle school.”

Inwardly, Izuku was wondering why he felt like telling the villains this. He knew that Aizawa said he’d prefer it if he didn’t place in the people who tried to murder him previously, but he couldn’t help it. Their faces said it all, he knew that they’d understand.

---

“First, I’m gonna take us to Recovery Girl’s office,” He ignored the whispers of other students around the hall, instead walking forward, muttering random things as he went. “I know you aren’t going to be starting fights most of the time, but some of the students in this school aren’t exactly kind towards villains, even if you aren’t anymore, if you were to begin with. And I don’t know what Recovery Girl’s opinion on this is, so I’ll show you where the side room and first aid kit is, since I get injured so much, Recovery Girl basically gave me my own room. Since I’m good with first aid, I want you to come to me if you’re injured, and as long as they aren’t too severe, I should be able to patch you up. If Recovery Girl refuses to heal you, (wouldn’t be the first time she’s refused a patient) then come to me.”

Soon they arrived at a door, and Izuku opened it, strolling in as though he practically lived there. He walked into a room to the right of the entrance, and the villains walked in to see a bed with cabinets filled with medical equipment on one wall of the room. Izuku turned, leveling Twice with a stern glare before ushering him onto the bed. The man hesitantly sat down on the bed, and Izuku immediately pulled a kit, seemingly out of thin air. He made small talk as he got out the disinfectant.

“Do you have clothes on underneath this suit?” He gave a small tug and Twice nodded, pulling his arm out of the sleeve so Izuku could access it properly. He ignored the hiss he got from Twice at the sting of the disinfectant as he got to work. “Would you mind if it took it after this to get Hatsume to repair it? She might even be able to add some extra support items to it. Oh yeah, that reminds me, when you duplicate, do you duplicate just the person, or anything they have on them at the time? Or do the objects they’re carrying count towards the limit of two people? As far as I know, you can only duplicate two people and their clothes, but do objects count to that limit? Do they also disappear like the people you duplicate if they take enough of a beating? Oh I wonder if you duplicated me, would my duplicate be quirkless or have my quirk…”

The last bit was muttered, but the villains were too in awe with the hero student to notice anything odd about it. Twice smiled underneath his mask, Izuku’s curiosity brightening his mood. He quietly answered what he could while he was being patched up.

“I wouldn’t mind letting… Hatsume? Yeah, I wouldn’t mind letting her repair it. No! Don’t let her repair it.”

Izuku’s face twisted into confusion at the opposite replies. Twice rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

“I suffer from dissociative identity disorder,” Twice sighed. “It happened from an accident with my quirk a while back. You’ll get used to it, probably. It helps having something wrapping around my head, it doesn’t feel like I’m splitting in half that way.”

Izuku finished up the bandaging, before pulling his notebook out of nowhere. Twice stared as he flipped to a page with a detailed drawing of him, notes in a neat scrawl all over the page. Soon he was scribbling more notes into his book, doodling different headbands and bandanas onto the margins as he filled out a paragraph under the title that said ‘Facts’. Twice shrugged at the look he got from Toga, deciding to just strip out of the rest of his suit. He thumbed at his mask, wondering if Izuku wanted him to take it off too. Toga was looking concerned, when Izuku snapped his book shut and looked up.

He took hold of Twice’s suit, folding it neatly and leaving it on the floor by his bag, before he turned to the rest of the group, sighing.

“Are any of you injured? Also Shigaraki, sit down, I probably have something that can help with the itching, if it’s a nervous thing then I can wrap it up for you,” He motioned to the chair before pulling out a tube of cream, squeezing some onto his hand and moving towards the man-child’s neck. He paused for a second, searching Shigaraki’s face before he gently smoothed the cream over the area. The ashy haired teen tensed under his touch, unused to the soft touches that fluttered across his skin, and his eyes slid closed as Izuku’s other hand combed through his hair, feeling safer than he had before. He could hear Toga giggling and Dabi’s soft chuckle as the hands moved away, and he whispered a small thanks to the greenette.

“Toga, Dabi?” Izuku’s voice spoke out again. “Any injuries? Allergies maybe? Phantom pains?”

He knew he struck a sensitive topic when Dabi flinched, though it was barely a twitch. He could see Dabi’s eyes widen as his hands rubbed at his arm, and a soft smile made its way onto his face. He opened his mouth to ask about it when Toga piped up.

“My quirk makes it so, even though I can eat normal food, I kinda need to drink blood,” She looked down at her feet. “I don’t know how often though, just that my parents were always disgusted if I asked. I hope that doesn’t bother you too much-”

She was cut off by the sound of pen on paper, and looked up to see Izuku already scrawling in his book again. He paused, before he began looking through the cabinets.

“How much would you guess you need to have per day?”

Toga paused, confused. She looked back on all the times she had eaten human blood before, and hesitantly gave an answer.

“Well, I normally drink around two cups of blood from someone in a week, since I normally get hungry around then, but per day would probably be…”

Izuku turned around, a syringe in his hand as he looked at her.

“Would you say this would be an okay daily dose of blood?”

Toga’s smile was the first genuine one she made around anyone. She nodded.

Izuku looked around at the group before looking at Toga again.

“Is there anyone’s blood you’d prefer to drink? Does blood even have a specific taste?” Izuku’s voice dulled to a whisper at the second question. Toga looked hesitant again.

“I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable…”

Izuku disinfected the needle, and with a shrug, he eased it into his forearm, watching as blood steadily filled the syringe. He absentmindedly pulled it out, grabbing a plastic cup from the water filter and filling it. He handed it over to Toga as he wiped off his arm, looking through the cabinets for the plastic bottles.

“I’m gonna set up bottles of blood and leave them in a cabinet in here so no one finds them. You can take one whenever you’re hungry. If you don’t want anyone to see you drink blood come here. If the supply runs out, just come find me and you can just drink straight from my arm, I won’t mind. If the others don’t mind, you can go to them as well. In fact, would any of you mind letting me take your blood to stock up the bottles?”

There were three immediate reactions.

“I’d be happy to help her! Gross! Not my blood!”

“Sure, blood bitch can use me if she wants.”

“She’s a member of my party, gotta supply her right?”

Needless to say, Izuku soon had a cabinet stocked up with blood and a very happy, teary Toga.

“Speaking of hungry, I can take you guys to the cafeteria once I deal with this.”

Izuku ignored the winces that came from the villains as he pulled off his shirt, revealing ugly scars that marred his body. The skin on his shoulder was practically peeling off, yet he merely blinked as he wrapped the bandages around the area, so damaged that you could see how much more that one place had suffered compared to the rest of his body. Izuku dug through the closet, not minding as Dabi brushed a hand over a scar in the middle of his back, and soon pulled out a spare uniform.

“Toga, if you wanna grab a blood bottle for the day, go ahead, I’m gonna get this uniform back on and we can head out to get you guys some lunch.”

The group was soon walking out of the office, Twice looking rather strange in just a mask. Izuku paused next to a door, and the villains exchanged a look of confusion when the door exploded open, something shooting out of it. Izuku waved away the billowing smoke and the villains heard the voice of Power Loader whine through the door.

“That’s the third time today, Hatsume!” Power Loader appeared and shot an exasperated smile at Izuku as he went over and picked up a broken machine. “The school is going to double the funds it spends on repairs, and it’s gonna mainly be you! Even the hero kids don’t break this much stuff goddamnit.”

Power Loader turned back to Izuku, not caring when he noticed the villains behind him.

“Ah, I see,” He sighed, and headed back in. “Hatsume, your number one customer probably has new requests, and it’s for the new, uhh… members of his class? Oh whatever, it’s the new villain students.”

A pink head stuck around the door, goggles coated in soot, and Izuku huffed when Hatsune leapt onto him, swiftly balancing out.

“Hello to you too.”

“HI THERE NEW PEOPLE!”

The four villains were taken aback by the loud outburst, but gave their own hellos.

“I’m Hatsune Mei, and I will be making the babies that Izuku comes up with!” Hatsune grinned, wide and toothy, and Toga giggled.

“Well hi,” Toga held out a hand, and the two smiled at each other. “I’m Toga Himiko, but feel free to give me a nickname!”

Hatsune gave her a bear hug before turning to Izuku, holding a hand out. He smiled as he handed over his notebook, along with Twice’s suit.

“Twice needs some suit repairs, Ka- Bakugou burnt some of it off,” He beckoned Twice to come closer. “His suit needs to include something that just generally wraps around his head, probably a drawback from his quirk. His quirk is written in there along with the other three. I hope you don’t mind but she’s probably gonna change all of your suits up, probably give one of you a grenade too. Don’t worry, she knows how to keep the design, though if you want it changed, tell her now.”

Izuku waved goodbye as Hatsune went back to giving Power Loader a headache, and he led them back down the hall to the cafeteria. The faint sound of explosions could be heard from the support lab, and Izuku smiled, Power Loader’s voice screeching out behind them.

“So the cafeteria is that way, but I prefer going through the staff door,” Izuku led them to the left of the large double doors. “Lunch Rush is one of the nicest staff members here, as long as you don’t insult him or anyone close to him, though I don’t know why you’d have a reason to insult his cooking. I’m gonna just ask him to give me some fries or something, I’d prefer being able to walk while we eat. If you want to sit and eat, I can show you somewhere away from the busy areas, might be safer for you too.”

Izuku had barely raised his fist to knock when Lunch Rush opened the door, holding up five different paper boxes with the smell of chicken and salt wafting across them. Izuku’s eyes lit up as he swiped one, moving out of the way for the others to take one before he gave Lunch Rush a hug, humming happily. The chef gently patted his back before Izuku waved goodbye, nearly skipping as he led the group down the hall.

Notes:

Toga's blood drinking this is just what I think would be a side effect of her quirk, and the idea of Toga drinking from a bottle or just directly from one of her friends was too vague to put into its own seperate fic and thus, I created this atrocity of a chapter. This whole chapter is just awkward to read lol.

Chapter 3: Meet the Insomniacs

---

Izuku poked an almost invisible button on the wall, letting the villains process its location, before he pushed on the wall, opening up a passage that the villains would’ve never seen. There were little lanterns on the wall, letting off an eerie but warm glow. There was a room that held a variety of beanbags, couches and cushions, and Izuku peered in, startling the purple haired boy who was buried under two weighted blankets.

“You don’t have a human under there with you, right? No fucking in the lounge room, only napping and snacking,” Izuku was interrupted by a pillow to the face, the purple haired boy openly displaying his disgust.

“Ew, human interaction.”

That caused a snicker out of Shigaraki, who was snacking on his lunch. Izuku moved into the room before dropping down on top of the boy’s nest, ignoring his desperate pleas for him to ‘get his fat ass off before he suffocates’. Izuku held a piece of chicken in front of the boy, and he fell quiet, taking a small bite.

“This is Shinso, resident insomniac,” said insomniac gave a two-fingered salute before he snuggled into the blankets, somehow maneuvering his body until he was in Izuku’s lap.

“So are these the so-called villains that are being rehabilitated?” Shinso had the blankets pulled right up to his chin, Izuku with one hand in purple hair while balancing his lunch on his knee precariously. “They all just look like abused kids, are you just tryna adopt more mentally unsound kids dad ?”

Dabi choked on a fry as Shinso leveled him with a look that just said been there, done that . He looked so comfortable yet so done from the situation, and he opened his mouth to probably comment more about their appearance when Izuku just shoved another fry into his mouth.

“If I’m not allowed to skip meals, then neither are you,” Izuku looked at the clock briefly before he just sighed and ran a hand through Shinso’s hair, ignoring the quiet purring that came from him.

“Awe, he’s like a kitten!” Toga giggled as she bounded over to them, settling on the cushiony floor next to Izuku and deciding to lean on him. She lay her head on his shoulder and continued eating, Twice soon joining her on the floor. The two had a quiet conversation when they noticed that Shinso had begun snoring, and eventually Dabi and Shigaraki gave in, joining the dog pile. Shigaraki took a seat behind Izuku and leaned on his back while Dabi leaned onto him. Izuku smiled softly, contented and warm in their pile.

“Lunch ends in ten minutes, and I haven’t shown you everything that’s gonna help you around, but we have tomorrow to do the tour. Also, I reckon if I asked, I could get your guide to be changed? Toga, Twice?”

He felt Toga’s sleepy nod as she slid further down, her head now tucked into his side with Twice’s arm in a hug. Izuku felt Shigaraki shift on his back, and he flexed his shoulder a little, beginning to feel his muscles strain slightly at their weight. He decided to leave the rest of his lunch for Shinso, leaving him a small warning text about being late, and he put away his phone, deciding to braid Shinso’s hair. He brushed it down so that it wasn’t floating oddly, and then began slowly making a neat dutch braid, making sure not to pull his hair.

He heard a warning bell ring, signalling 5 minutes before class started up again, and the bodies lying on him shifted. He felt Shigaraki get off his back while Dabi sighed, grunting as he stood up with slight difficulty in the cushions. Izuku eased Shinso off his lap, letting the tired boy continue sleeping, and he decided, just in case, to message Snipe about his soon-to-be-reported-missing student. He heard a loud whine come from Toga as she wiggled around, but she got up, letting Izuku stretch his numb legs.

“We have around 4 minutes until the start of class,” He picked his bag up off the floor near the door. “We can just keep heading down the hall, it leads into the hall right next to the door of the classroom.”

The group made their way down the hall, Dabi’s coat now hanging around Shigaraki’s shoulders and Twice’s arm still being held hostage by a sleepy blond who’s hair was sticking up all over. Izuku huffed before reaching the blank wall, and he shoved it open, blinking as white lights assaulted his eyes.

“C’mon Bakubro,” Kirishima’s voice echoed from down the hall. “Aren’t you at least a little worried about Midobro? I mean you were meant to be watching two of the villains but now Mido has all four, and you injured him! He’s in no state to deal with former criminals-”

“Kirishima,” Izuku spoke up, ignoring Toga when she decided to latch onto his arm instead, and watched the way the redhead froze up along with Bakugou. “As much as I appreciate your concern, I grew up with Bakugou, and I’ve dealt with much worse from him before. See? I’m alright, and the ‘villains’ aren’t emotionless. They’ve all probably had to deal with many different situations in their life, not all of them are gonna be good. Anyways, I was gonna ask someone about changing their guide. If all he’s gonna do is just solidify their hatred for heroes, then they’d be better off with someone else, right?”

Izuku pretended he didn’t see Bakugou’s flinch when he heard his last name, or Kirishima’s widening eyes, and he opened the door to the classroom, the villains having their own conversations as they walked past the pair;

“Izukunnn~!” Toga whined out to the greenette as he sat down, facing her with utmost patience. “Will you braid my hair too? Can you separate them? Make two of them? Like my buns? Please please please please please-”

Izuku sat cross legged in his chair while Toga sat on the floor and he got to work. He was about to untie her buns when Ashido walked in, Kaminari and Sero in tow. He looked over to her, ignoring the confusion and called out.

“Do you have a hairbrush I can borrow?”

Ashido nodded hesitantly before pulling the brush out of her bag and throwing it, Izuku catching it perfectly. He turned back around and took out Toga’s buns, beginning to comb through her hair softly, hoping that he wouldn’t tug too hard. Toga was giggling on the floor while she played chopsticks with Twice, Dabi and Shigaraki chatting in the back corner. Ashido hovered behind Izuku, watching him thread Toga’s hair into two cute french braids and once he finished, the girl smiled happily, especially when she saw the photo Izuku had taken.

He handed Ashido back her hairbrush, her eyes twinkling with a curious look, and he shrugged, pulling out his notebook while he waited for Ectoplasm to arrive for maths. The class remained relatively quiet aside from the crinkling of hard plastic coming from Toga. Heads turned towards her to see her biting the side of a plastic bottle, sucking blood out from the holes.

Half the class cringed away at the blood that dribbled down her chin, but Izuku merely pulled a napkin seemingly out of thin air and wiped her mouth, blocking her from the judgemental stares being shot down her back. Toga’s face showed that she was saddened by the fact that the class wasn’t going to be her friend, and she quietly thanked Izuku. She looked down at her lap, wondering if the whole class hated her now.

“Hey Uraraka, Tsuyu, could you come here for a bit?”

Toga’s eyes widened when she recognised the girls who he called over. She shrunk away slightly, worried that they’d still be upset for what happened at training camp, and she went to go talk with Twice instead, when Izuku placed his hand on her head. He sent her a reassuring smile, leaning forward to whisper something in her ear while the two girls hesitantly made their way over.

“So I know that you might be scared of her,” Izuku turned back over to the girls. “But Toga’s quirk just made her bloodthirsty, since she requires blood in her diet. I’ve already worked out that so she won’t be a danger to you in any way. I know that there weren’t many females in the League of Villains aside from Magne, so Toga hasn’t had many female friends. She has something she’d like to say to you, and I’d like it a lot if you gave her a chance. She’s trying to be better, isn’t that right, To-chan?”

No one could ignore the look of pure happiness on Toga’s face when she heard the nickname come from Izuku, and Uraraka felt a smile make its way onto her face in return. When Toga turned to her, there wasn’t any horrifying aura of bloodlust, instead just a soft, eccentric one.

“Hi there, I remember you from the training camp, I’m Toga Himiko!” Toga looked down.. “I’m sorry for scaring you that day, it’s just been a while since I made any female friends, since most people avoided me for my quirk.”

Tsuyu croaked in surprise before speaking up.

“I wouldn’t mind being your friend, kero,” Tsuyu looked to Uraraka as she spoke. “I’m sure Ochako-chan wouldn’t mind either.”

Uraraka nodded violently, opening her arms for a hug, which Toga returned in full. Dabi was looking on with a fond smile while conversing with Shigaraki, and any of the students who were entering the classroom were merely confused as to what was happening. Ashido walked over and smiled at Toga.

“Toga-chan,” Ashido began to talk. “Do you wanna come to a girls night some time this week? I would love to give you a makeover! I bet you’d look even cuter if we gave you ribbons for your hair.”

Izuku moved away from his table, letting the girls chat and gush over Toga and he tried to sneak away towards Twice who had moved over to join Shigaraki, but Ashido caught his sleeve.

“Where did you learn to braid hair, Midoriya?” Ashido was looking at him with stars in her eyes. “I didn’t know you could do that.”

Izuku’s internal crisis went unheard as Ectoplasm walked in, the class hurriedly pulling out their textbooks. Ectoplasm stared blankly at them all, turning to the board as everyone got sorted. The man sighed as the chalk tapped over the surface of the board. Toga and Twice were quietly snickering to themselves while Shigaraki was getting his hair tied up by Dabi. The class was clearly startled by the oddly wholesome behaviour that the ‘battle hardened’ or ‘heartless’ villains were displaying. Ectoplasm merely ignored them, too tired to give a fuck about the situation that was happening.

Izuku noticed the villains slowly growing more bored so he pulled out his phone from his bag and handed it to Shigaraki, unlocking it and letting him do whatever he wanted. Some of the class were pretending to focus on their work though they were peering at Izuku curiously. Shigaraki sat down on the floor as he opened one of the games on his phone and concentrated on the phone intensely, Dabi and Toga looking over his shoulder.

Mineta was about to start spouting bullshit about letting a villain touch Midoriya’s phone, but was interrupted when the greenette turned around, using one hand to shove Mineta’s face into the table while he spoke to Yaoyorozu.

“Hey Yaomomo,” The girl looked up, hiding a smirk at Mineta’s predicament. “Do you have enough fat stored to make a Nintendo Switch or two and a few games? I can give them to you once we get back to the dorms, it’s just that they have nothing to do since they’re supposed to be ahead of us in education. I doubt they’ll focus in some classes, except for maybe Toga.”

Yaoyorozu slowly nodded and turned around to make the requested items, smiling when she heard the table creak under the force that Izuku was using to hold the grape-headed boy’s face down. Ectoplasm ignored the two, only giving a brief reminder for the rest of the class to focus on finishing their work. He knew that Midoriya and Yaoyorozu knew enough about the topic that they didn’t really need to concentrate to pass the test.

All the teachers knew about the villains and that Midoriya was watching them despite the fact it should have been both Bakugou and Midoriya. He sighed heavily as he began writing up more equations on the board, turning a blind eye when Midoriya ground Mineta’s head further into the desk, masking his surprise when the normally happy-go-lucky teen decided to blend the grapist’s face.

When a quiet yet awe-filled gasp sounded, a few heads looked up to see Shigaraki holding a Switch like it was a gift from the heavens. Midoriya held up small container that had a few game cards in it, and Shigaraki held it carefully with three fingers before inserting one of the surprisingly less violent games, Pokemon Snap (A.N: look, don’t judge, i haven’t actually played anything else on the switch aside from monster hunter rise, pokemon sword and shield so…). Toga was comfortably attached to the teen’s back, chin on his shoulder and limbs around his waist while Twice and Dabi decided to battle in Mario Kart.

Throughout the lesson, white chalk would tap across the board and every now and again, Shigaraki would make a soft noise and excitedly show his screen to Toga, muttering about high scores and complaining about missing a shot occasionally. Toga could be heard quietly commenting on his shots while she pointed at the screen over his shoulder.

Izuku smiled as some of the class paled at the mention of shooting, not close enough to realise he was talking about photos and not a gun.

Notes:

Hope you liked that fluffy chapter! I want cuddles but like, I'm not allowed friends over at my house, ever. So here I am, writing what I want irl lmao. Also Mineta deserves to burn in hell; did you know people ship him with Bakugou???? Like I don't wanna be rude but what the fuck.

Chapter 4: Moving In

Notes:

Just saying, there is no ship here, but it can be if you'd like. I just wanted soft big brotherly Dabi, or at least have the villains be soft for him because he's the green bean man

---

Soon enough, the lesson ended and Dabi was shouting some colourfully chosen words at Twice who was merely in an argument with himself, both complimenting and insulting Dabi. Toga was squealing about how cute Shigaraki’s shots were and said teen was hiding a smile behind his hand, Izuku taking the Switch from him before he dropped it.

Uraraka and Tsuyu were sitting alongside Shigaraki, despite past differences, so they could chat with Toga who was still seated on his shoulders. Izuku was quite clearly watching Todoroki and Dabi, his gaze flitting between the two every few seconds. Dabi was avoiding the analysing green eyes and instead, opted to watch his brother’s stoic face. The bi-coloured teen was watching Midoriya with just as much intensity as he was being stared at, and eventually gave up, huffing as he looked away.

Izuku hummed to himself, already putting together the pieces of a puzzle that no one else knew was there. He smiled softly when Dabi looked towards him again, and when his scarred eyes widened, he knew he understood. Twice was nervously hovering around the girls, unsure if he was welcome or not, but Toga decided for him when she caught his arm and migrated over to him instead.

Once the teacher walked in, Shigaraki had the Switch back in his hands and nothing much more eventful occurred for the rest of the school day. Occasionally, curious glances would be shot at Izuku and the oddly peaceful villains but there were no other shocking situations. Except for when Izuku said Bakugou instead of Kacchan, but some classmates were oddly proud of the mossy haired teen for that.

Once the last bell of the day rang out, 1-A students began to pack up quickly, hurrying to get back to the dorms before the villains made it first. Izuku huffed and moved slowly, waiting for people to file out of the room. He heard a metallic rattling noise and turned his head to look at the vent in the corner, watching absentmindedly as Aizawa dropped down, the villains freezing in place as his gaze locked onto them

“I was going to go to the teacher’s lounge to find you,” Izuku shrugged his bag onto his shoulder. “But you’re here now, so that works too I guess.”

Aizawa sighed, groaning with exhaustion as Izuku stood up from his chair.

“Bakugou doesn’t seem to be doing a good job of watching you guys, huh?” The tired man only got a few shrugs in return. “Problem child, you seem to have an idea of who to swap him with, who is it?”

Aizawa could only try his best to suppress another drawn out sigh at the twinkle in his student’s eyes. He pinched the bridge of his nose, hiding his soft smile behind his capture scarf. The villains all appeared to perk up, seeming to know who his problem child had in mind and he huffed.

“Shinso Hitoshi, class 1-C,” Aizawa’s eyes widened. “They met him at lunch, and I think he still might be asleep in the room. “He’s apathetic but that will only help with Toga’s strange habits. I think he might already be taken with them, to be honest. Besides, it might be a good way for him to get extra credit, maybe Nedzu will let him into the hero course?”

Aizawa sighed loudly, rubbing his eyes as he looked at the problem child  then at the villains. The group, well, mainly Dabi and Twice since the other two were still playing on the switch, were shooting grateful looks towards the greenette, and he straightened up before nodding. His problem child was smiling his thousand watt smile again and Aizawa couldn’t help but give him a soft smile in return. He pulled open the classroom door, walking out with five kids trailing behind him before he waved them away, vanishing back into the teacher’s lounge.

Izuku smiled as he walked through the halls, linking arms with Shigaraki so that he wouldn’t run into a pole while he stared down at a screen. He led them through a hallway that led directly to the dorms so they could avoid other people if they didn’t feel like dealing with others. As he led them down the hall, Shigaraki slowly began to lean more and more onto Izuku, cheek resting on his mess of curls. Dabi had his arm over Izuku’s shoulder, looking over at the Switch while Toga and Twice were quietly discussing their own gossip, hushed whispers filling the silence of the walk.

When they arrived, Iida was standing at the door, waving at Izuku with a strained smile. He returned the wave, nudging Shigaraki to let him know that they had arrived.

“Hey Iida,” He smiled at the blue haired teen, “I just need to show these guys up to their room so can we talk later? I don’t wanna get yelled at just yet.”

At that, Iida’s mouth snapped closed, a look of shock over his face. He looked sad for a second before he let them into the dorm.

“I wasn’t going to-”

“It’s fine Iida, I know you wouldn’t do that, but I’m worried about what others will say about the way I’m treating the villains,” Izuku gently released himself from Dabi and Shigaraki’s grip before opening his arms toward his friend, giving him a hug that he returned awkwardly. Once they let go, Izuku led the group into the dorms, ignoring the gazes, both accusing and questioning, that were shot his way, and headed straight for the escalator, leading them to the rooms next to his.

(A.N: They’re rooming next door to him since it’s his job to make sure they don’t ‘do anything’)

There were two rooms on either side of his with doors so he could easily walk in if he needed to check on them. He let them into his bedroom, walls bare of the previous piles of All Might merchandise. He ushered them over to his bed before flopping onto it, feeling someone pat him on the back as he sighed heavily. He turned his head, eyes drooping with his sleep deprivation showing in his eyes as he looked at the people in his room.

“We just need to organise who’s sleeping in what room and then I need to tell Shinso he has a new job,” Izuku yawned as he felt a hand card through his hair. The bed dipped near his head and he recognised the black pants that Dabi wore sitting near his head. He shuffled up until he could comfortably rest his head in the 19 year old’s lap.

(A.N: Brief reminder their ages are: Dabi - 19, Shigaraki - 19, Twice - 18, Toga - 17)

“We can also swap each night if it makes you more comfortable,” Izuku leaned into the hand as it scratched his scalp. “Or we could just have sleepovers with everyone, but you're probably uncomfortable around me. If the girls are willing, Toga could room with one of them. Or you can room with each other, I get that you probably don’t trust me yet, sorry I guess I’m pushing everything when I do shit like this, you probably don’t even like me, this is probably very uncomfortable, I didn’t even ask for your opinions on this this I’m making assumptions and you probably hate me and I’m probably bothering you and-”

“Woah there you anxious bean,” Dabi’s hand pulled lightly on his hair, drawing him out of his heavy downward spiral into pointless what if thoughts. He kept petting his hair, keeping him grounded and focused on the feeling until his eyes began to clear up. Izuku curled tighter into himself, hiding his face into Dabi’s lap so he couldn’t see anything else.

“You ok now buddy?” Dabi ruffled his hair again, Toga lying on Izuku’s back with her hands gently pressing into it while Shigaraki awkwardly hovered around Twice, not knowing how to help. Izuku didn’t know what to feel when Dabi didn’t shove him away and just pulled him closer. He felt a blanket of safety that he hadn’t ever felt even when he was around his classmates. He looked up slightly, the hands clinging to the blanket under him moving to hold onto Dabi’s shirt instead, where he tucked his face into, feeling like a child.

But that was okay. Because after everything he’s been through, he deserved that much. And the villains his friends thought no less of him.

“You ok now buddy?” Dabi ruffled his hair again, Toga lying on Izuku’s back with her hands gently into it while Shigaraki awkwardly hovered around Twice, not knowing how to help. He looked up slightly, the hands clinging to the blanket under him moving to hold onto Dabi’s shirt instead, where he tucked his face into, feeling like a child.

But that was okay. Because after everything he’s been through, he deserved that much. And the villains   his friends thought no less of him.

---

Izuku curled into Dabi, nodding his head while Shigaraki attempted to console him, hesitantly poking his head with one finger out of fear that he would hurt him by using more fingers. He could still feel the intrusive thoughts clouding his head, telling him to stop interrupting the villains, to leave them alone, because they didn’t want to be here, let alone be forced to stay in rooms next to him.

Dabi looked down at the green-headed boy, deciding to lift him up properly. He managed to coax him to shuffle a bit more, getting him to sit up while leaning on him. Izuku looked drained of energy despite having not cried his eyes out. He felt Twice clumsily stumble to sit behind him and Dabi so he slouched against the scarred man’s shoulder. Shigaraki was sitting on the floor with his chin resting on the bed, Toga now happily braiding his ashy hair into multiple tiny braids, making him look like a tired older brother.

“You with us, Broccoli Boy?”

Izuku huffed and nodded slightly, Twice cradling his clammy hands, warming them as he looked at him, genuine concern somehow showing through his mask. Shigaraki looked up at the sound, worried red eyes staring at him. Strange, he thought he hated red eyes, but that could just be due to Bakugou’s influence. He smiled at the male, and for once, it felt real.

“You okay there Zuku?” Toga chirped from next to him, fingers undoing the braids in Shigaraki’s hair.

“Yeah… I’m feeling better,” The greenette sniffled as he nestled down, cozied by the group’s warmth. Shigaraki laid his head on Izuku’s lap, letting the boy thread his hands through his hair and pull out the braids.

“Do you wanna talk about it or should we just organise the rooms?” Dabi cradled him in his arms, vaguely remembering how he used to do this for his little brother as well. He chuckled as Izuku drifted off, eyes drooping with exhaustion as he fell back onto his bed, dead asleep. The group maneuvered their way around with Dabi tucking Izuku under the blanket, patting him on the head before facing the rest of them.

Dabi moved to leave the room, but was immediately stopped by the little hand clinging to his coat too tightly for him to move. Toga giggled, motioning for him to stay with Izuku while the three left the room. The scarred man sighed, gently pulling the hand off of him but not straying far either. He lay down next to Izuku, letting one of his arms lay across Izuku’s waist and pulling him into his chest, reminded too much of when he did this with his brother. When the boy snuggled into his chest with a small smile on his face, he sighed, dozing off to sleep.

Toga peeked into the room, snapping a quick photo before closing the door, facing the other two.

“I’m gonna go downstairs and see if one of the girls is willing to share rooms with me~!” Toga giggled as she skipped down the hall, leaving Shigaraki and Twice to their own devices. The two smiled as the blond went cackling down the stairs, both deciding to take the room on the right of Izuku’s in case Toga couldn’t sleep with the girls.

“Hello!” Toga ignored the way half the class tensed at the sight of her, keeping her smile on her face. “Just wanted to hang out, it’s been forever since I’ve been around other girls!”

Most of the boys just ignored her, knowing she couldn’t do much without a quirk, but Kaminari, Kirishima and Sero all levelled the girl with a glare before turning back to talk with Ashido. Toga wilted slightly, sad that she couldn’t talk with the pink girl, when she felt someone grab her arm.

“Hi Toga-chan,” Tsuyu stuck out her tongue as she smiled at the blond pulling her towards the girls dorm rooms. Toga couldn’t hold back her bright smile when Tsuyu led her into her room, especially when all the other girls looked up and greeted her. “Ashido was the one who invited you, she’s just caught up with the guys right now, kero.”

Toga giggled happily when arms wrapped around her, giving her a warm hug. She didn’t know or care who was hugging her, she was just glad that the girls didn’t hate her. As she closed her eyes, soaking in the warmth of the people around her, the girls all smiled back, knowing they made the right choice to befriend the ex-villain.

“Oh yeah,” Toga was pulled down into a cuddle pile, smothered by Uraraka who was lying on top of her, and Yaomomo who was acting as her pillow. “Izuku said to ask if I could room with one of you since it’s inappropriate to sleep with a boy or something. I wouldn’t know but if Green Bean said it then I should listen, yeah?”

Uraraka nodded solemnly, her face rubbing against Toga’s shoulder. Jiro was holding back her snickers while Yaomomo simply brushed Toga’s hair, getting any knots out with her fingers.

“The most important thing is deciding who you room with,” Uraraka wore a serious look on her face, staring intensely at Toga. “Now, who do you want to room with?”

Toga blinked at the brunette, confused.

“I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable so I thought you guys would choose?”

Jiro shook her head, leaning over until she rested against Yaoyorozu. She took a portion of Toga’s hair into her hand and began playing with it, braiding and unbraiding it in different styles.

“Nah, you get to choose,” Ashido walked into the room, the door clicking shut behind her. She sat down next to Toga, lying on top of Uraraka, smothering Toga even more. “I mean, one of us will be your roomie until you graduate with us! Or even better, we can swap around who you room with like every week so we can share you around!”

Toga giggled, happiness swelling in her heart as she hugged the girls close to her. She smiled brightly, the girls laughing with her as they all piled on top of one another, Tsuyu croaking when Uraraka pulled her into their pile.

It had been a while since she felt that happy, but Toga could confidently say that she would not be leaving her new friends.

Notes:

oh yeah and toga deserves friends. just sayin.

---

Back on the boys side of the dorms, Twice and Shigaraki were napping, the masked boy curled up and leaning against Shigaraki hesitantly. Tomura had struggled to fall asleep, too worried that he might accidentally hurt his friend with one wrong move, but he eventually fell asleep, his hands clasped around Twice’s back.

Dabi was jostled awake by Izuku, who was shuffling around in his sleep. The green haired boy’s face was twisted in a look of discomfort, and Dabi began to move away, trying to give him space when he was tugged on again. He grunted when Izuku’s arms tightened to a near painful level, making it hard for him to breath, when suddenly he jolted, eyes flying open in a panic. Dabi sighed, not in his right mind due to his sleepiness, and simply threaded a hand through his hair, pulling the boy into his chest before going back to sleep.

Izuku took a deep breath, realising he was being held by someone almost immediately. The smell of smoke and ash clued him in as to who it was, so he smiled, snuggling into Dabi’s chest. He could feel him breathing softly, the rise and fall of his chest helping calm him down, the hands that were absentmindedly rubbing circles into his back slowing to a stop as the scarred man fell asleep.

Later when Iida checks up on his friend, he finds two villains snoring peacefully, Izuku smothered in a bear hug from a third villain, and the fourth one nowhere to be seen, although he did see her head over to the girls. The class president smiled, closing Izuku’s door with a soft click before heading back down to the common rooms, knowing that he’d be perfectly safe.

---

Izuku woke up the following morning, feeling warm and more content than he had been for most of his life. He shuffled out of the bed, flopping onto the floor at god knows how early morning, Dabi merely letting out a quiet grunt from the loss of warmth. He made his way out of the room, grabbing a random jacket on his way as he headed down to the kitchen.

When he walked in, the room was completely empty, void of any people. He stared around, squinting his eyes at a clock. 5:00 a.m. He blinked rapidly, rubbing sleep from his eyes before deciding just to make breakfast for everyone, seeing as he was already awake.

As quiet as one can be when grabbing pots, Izuku moved around the kitchen, pulling out a pancake mix from the pantry before deciding to simply make his own mix. Soon enough, the sizzling of oil filled the room as Izuku slowly began making food for everyone. Thank god the school provided money for food instead of making them buy themselves food. He mentally counted out the different measurements, and by the time people began to wake up, he had laid out multiple plates of pancakes, with extras for the especially hungry people.

He heard Iida walk into the common room with a cheery good morning, Jirou’s noise complaints following shortly after. He finished up the rest of the scrambled eggs before beginning to cook some bacon, pulling drinks out of the fridge and setting them on the table.

“Hey Iida, could you set up the cups and plates for me? Please and thank you.”

Iida nodded, zooming around the kitchen and laying out twenty plates before pausing, and then laying out another four. He looked at the drink choices, milk, water, and an assortment of juices, before selecting orange juice. He poured himself a cup before serving himself two pancakes and just as he was about to walk out of the kitchen, Izuku placed some bacon and eggs onto his plate, smiling as the class representative walked away.

People began trickling into the room, drawn by the smell of food and once Izuku finished up, he placed the foods he made on the plate in the middle, letting people choose what they wanted to eat. His classmates thanked him as they walked past, collecting their food. He quickly finished up his food, washing his plate in the sink and leaving it on the rack before he went to go check on his new roommates.

“Hey Dabi, you awake yet-”

Izuku was met with a facefull of pillow when he opened his room door, startling Dabi out of his sleep. He yelped, catching the pillow before it hit the floor and just sighed, walking over to his bed. Ignoring the noise of protest the man let out, he yanked open his curtains, Dabi whining as the light hit his eyes. Izuku’s face twitched, annoyed that he wouldn’t get up, and just let out another sigh.

The greenette decided it would be better to just drag him down to the kitchen to eat instead of waiting for him to get up, and with minimal effort, he picked up the man who was more than a head taller than him, throwing him over his shoulder and walking out of the room with him. He knocked on Shigaraki and Twice’s door, calling for them to wake up. When he walked in and the two saw Dabi thrashing in his hold, they got out of bed, not wanting to suffer the same fate as their friend.

“Hey Ashido, is Toga awake or do I need to go get her?” Ashido turned to him, about to answer when she noticed the man slung over Izuku’s shoulder like a sack of stones, and she burst into laughter.

“Oh don’t worry about me, Zuku!” Toga giggled with Ashido as she saw Dabi, stuffing her mouth with bacon and pancakes. “I can get up on my own!”

“That’s good then.”

Dabi yelped as he was dropped onto a chair, Izuku sliding a plate of food in front of him. He began to eat under the watchful eye of the green haired teen, absolutely terrified of his strength.

“Iida, has anyone not eaten?” Izuku looked around, counting the plates that were left on the table and the plates that were on the drying rack. He poured himself a cup of coffee, drinking the whole thing black. The class sweatdropped, knowing exactly how motherly Izuku gets when someone isn’t taking care of themselves.

“I do believe that I haven’t seen Tsuyu this morning,” Some of the girls winced in sympathy for the frog girl when Izuku’s face changed into worry and concern.

“Okay, and where is she right now?”

“Uh,” Uraraka put up her hand, not wanting to risk the wrath of an angry mother hen. “I think she’s still in her room.”

“Alright then, if it’s okay with the girls, I’m going to her room to check up on her, I’ll bring her down to eat. Iida, please watch these guys for me, I don’t know what kinda chaos they’ll cause, but come get me if they start to annoy you, but you shouldn’t worry too much.”

The girls nodded, knowing well enough that he wasn’t really asking, and the boy immediately disappeared up the stairs, the girls hoping that Tsuyu would be okay.

“So, does he normally just pick people up and yeet them into the kitchen and stare them down until they eat?” Dabi looked at the class, utterly traumatised by the ‘cinnamon roll’s’ actions. When half the class nodded, he shuddered, pouring himself a cup of water. Shigaraki was poking at his utensils, worried about disintegrating them until Twice tapped him on the arm, right under the quirk suppressing bracelet.

“Hey Tsuyu,” Izuku knocked gently on her door. “I’m coming in.”

He walked into the warm room, hearing soft sniffling coming from inside the dark area.

“Tsuyu? Oh hun, hey, hey,” Izuku swiftly moved over to her, kneeling down in front of her line of sight. “Come on, Tsuyu. Are you okay with touch right now?”

When the girl hesitantly nodded, Izuku opened up his arms, letting her lean into his chest for a hug. She cried quietly into his shoulder, clinging to him tightly. He rested his arms around her, one hand fiddling with her hair and the other rubbing circles into her back.

“Tsuyu, hun,” Izuku’s voice took on a motherly tone, the boy hugging her close to him. “Can you breathe for me darling? Yeah, just follow my breathing okay? Just like that honey, you’re fine, I’m right here, the class is downstairs, everyone is safe, you’re okay darlin’.”

Tsuyu’s breathing began to level out, the girl’s sobs dying down to soft whimpers and she loosened her grip on Izuku’s shirt, about to apologise when Izuku interrupted her.

“Hey, there’s nothing to apologise for hun,” Izuku untied her hair, brushing out her messy bedhead. “You wanna tell me what’s bothering you? Even if you don’t feel like talking, I still want to make sure you get some food in you, ‘kay?”

Tsuyu nodded, slowly turning around in Izuku’s lap so he could brush her hair properly.

“It’s just that,” Tsuyu croaked, voice cracking as she spoke. “It’s just that Shigaraki nearly killed me before. At the USJ. I think I can forgive Toga, because it wasn’t really her fault, no one helped her with her quirk, but with Shigaraki, it’s just, every time I look at him, I see his hand closing over my face, and I wonder what would have happened if Aizawa didn’t stop him, and now he’s in our school, and you seem completely fine with it, and the teachers too, but I just don’t think I can handle being around him. He was right there, sitting next to me while I talked to Toga, and he could’ve killed me so easily-”

Izuku pressed a gentle kiss to the girl’s hair, doing it up just like she always wore it. (A.N: I JUST LIKE FLUFFY SHIT LIKE THIS, IM NOT SHIPPING THE TWO GREENETTES OKAY GOT IT GOOD DONT SAY IM SHIPPING THEM IM A FUCKIN AROMANTIC AND DONT DO ROMANCE THIS IS ENTIRELY JUST TO FILL MY PLATONIC NEED FOR PLATONIC KISSES) Tsuyu could feel motherly instincts radiating off of her friend, and she paused her rant for Izuku to speak.

“I understand the idea of forgiving someone,” Izuku soothed the girl, looking every bit of a mother hen. “Especially when they’ve tried to kill you, is very hard. I get it, I’ve been there too. But I know you’ve forgiven Toga for her mistakes with her quirk, and the whole point of this villain rehab program is to help them get better. Toga’s here to learn how to keep her quirk under control, and that she doesn’t have to be a villain, you can understand that right?”

Tsuyu nodded, letting Izuku continue.

“Then even if you never forgive him, please understand that Shigaraki didn’t mean it,” The girl turned around, looking at Izuku’s deadpan face in bewilderment. “Before you tell me your view on the situation, let me explain to you something. His quirk is disintegration, how do you think he found out?”

The froggy girl froze in her place before widening her eyes. Izuku’s eyes softened in sorrow.

“He killed his family,” Tsuyu croaked sadly when Izuku spoke. “That’s why he wore hands on his body, they were all he had to remember his family by. Heroes failed him, you know, because they let All for One get to him first. No one saved him from himself, leaving him to slowly break down. All for One was the first person to treat him ‘kindly’ which is why he’s so… insane, I guess. Tsuyu, even if you can’t forgive him, that’s okay. But please understand that his life was terrible, it’s all he knew. He was following the orders of his teacher, so please don’t hate him, okay?”

Tsuyu looked down, nodding slowly as Izuku stood up, picking Tsuyu up with him. Ignoring her croak of surprise, he carried her out the door, holding her like one would hold a plushie, hugging her to his chest and letting her feet hang. Tsuyu smiled, powerless to do anything against Izuku when he was holding her like that, and she laughed, the other girls smiling in relief, glad Izuku didn’t just drag her by her feet.

Izuku set the girl down gently, patting her on the head before walking over to the kitchen, drying the dishes and stacking them up in the cupboard again. He was about to put away the final few plates when he felt arms wrap around his waist. He moved one of his arms around the offending clinger, and let them hang onto him. When he put down the last plate, he turned and picked up Tsuyu, the girl yelping in surprise at the sudden movement.

“Thank you, Midoriya-chan.”

Izuku smiled, hugging the girl tightly once more before letting her down, the girl hopping away to join her friends soon after. The way Tsuyu kept a clear distance from Shigaraki didn’t go unnoticed by said person, and he frowned. Izuku walked over to him, making sure he saw him before patting him on the head.

“Don’t worry, she doesn’t hate you,” Shigaraki looked doubtful. “Just give her time to get used to you, she’s still scared of you after all. I had a chat with her about it, and I hope she can understand where you were coming from. Just, try not to attempt to murder several teens again, yeah?”

Izuku smiled down at the ashy haired male before looking up to the rest of the class. While some of them might have still been judgemental about Izuku’s lack of fear or anger towards the villainous group, he was completely fine with everything as it was now. He huffed, beginning to usher everyone out of the room, Iida yelling out reminders to get ready for school before disappearing down the hallway to his room.

When Izuku looked at Dabi, the scarred man immediately jumped out of his seat, not wanting Izuku to just pick him up and drag him up the stairs like he did earlier. Toga was laughing about Dabi’s suffering, happily following the girls when they beckoned her over. Izuku rummaged through his room, managing to find the uniforms that had been provided for the boys, before throwing the clothes towards them. 15 minutes later, the four boys were all ready to get to class.

Chapter Text

When Izuku looked at Dabi, the scarred man immediately jumped out of his seat, not wanting Izuku to just pick him up and drag him up the stairs like he did earlier. Toga was laughing about Dabi’s suffering, happily following the girls when they beckoned her over. Izuku rummaged through his room, managing to find the uniforms that had been provided for the boys, before throwing the clothes towards them. 15 minutes later, the four boys were all ready to get to class.

---

The first thing Aizawa felt that morning was a sort of dread. He walked into his classroom clinging to his thermos filled with coffee, and was confronted with the sight of his problem child writing in his notebook at 50 words per second while Shigaraki and Toga fawned over a shooting game, the bright neon colours of Splatoon flashing across the screen. Dabi looked up from Midoriya’s book and locked eyes with Aizawa, sending a shit eating grin his way as Twice made comments on Izuku’s writing, contradicting himself as always.

Some of the class were nervously watching the group while the rest were calmly sitting down, waiting for Aizawa to start class. Toga had looked up from Shigaraki’s screen when Bakugou stood up angrily from his chair, and now the two blondes were staring at each other intensely, When Katsuki moved his hand slightly towards Izuku, Toga’s hands reached closer to her belt, even though her knives were removed. Her smile grew more demented and Bakugou made a face, leaning back a bit.

Izuku’s pen froze, and the greenette started clicking it, checking to see if there was any more ink left in it. Dabi took the pen from him and headed over to the bin while Twice looked through his bag to hand him another one. Aizawa could see rough sketches and diagrams of heroes and their costumes as Dabi flicked through the pages. He made a mental note to ask Midoriya about what he writes on a later date, but for now he had a class to teach.

His eyes flashed red as he erased the quirks of his students, tiredly watching everyone quiet down. Twice tapped on Midoriya’s hand and the boy stopped moving, pen clicking shut.

“Alright you demons,” Aizawa sighed, just wanting to go back to sleep. “Class is starting, shut the hell up.”

---

As soon as his class filed out for lunch, Aizawa let out a muffled groan, face buried into his sleeping bag as he curled into a ball in the corner of the room. Present Mic walked in, checking to see if his sleepless husband was still in the classroom instead of getting lunch with the rest of the teachers, and sure enough, he saw the yellow cloth blob in the corner, seeming to be content with not moving.

“Hey Shoutaaa-”

“Tell Nedzu to give me a raise.”

Hizashi paused, a confused smile curving onto his face. He knelt down, resting a hand where he thought Aizawa’s head would be, and nudged the man.

“You gotta eat lunch honey,” Yamada hid his laughter when his husband rolled over, portraying the part of a hobo in a fancy school perfectly. “C’mon, I’ll carry you if you don’t move and all the students will see you.”

“I gotta tell Shinso that Problem Child nominated him to babysit some kids with him,” Shouta wriggled around until he managed to dislodge himself from his sleeping bag, and Hizashi sighed, helping him off the floor. “I’ll get lunch later, gotta go stalk Problem Child 2.”

Yamada simply watched as his husband climbed into a vent, leaving him and his sleeping bag behind. Hizashi picked it up off the floor, dusting it off before walking out the door like a sane person, heading off to the teacher’s lounge for lunch.

---

“Oi.”

Shinso jumped when a voice rang out from within the walls of the school. He looked around before looking up, meeting Eraserhead’s dead-eyed stare.

“Midoriya wanted you to replace Bakugou’s job of watching over the new students,” Aizawa jumped down from the vent, landing on the floor in a crouch. “He said you met them at lunch yesterday so you should be fine for the job right?”

The purple haired teen nodded slowly, not trusting himself to speak at the moment.

“Great, you can do it for extra credit to get yourself into the hero course sooner.”

Hitoshi’s mouth fell open as the strict teacher walked away down the hall, turning the corner and vanishing from sight. He stood there for a few minutes before deciding it wasn’t worth questioning what had just happened, instead making his way to the hidden lounge room instead.

Not long after he’d face planted into a beanbag, a gentle knocking was heard, and he groaned, lifting his head to see Toga and Twice standing at the door.

“Ah, I got you two then?”

Toga smiled brightly, light glinting off her fangs while Twice made a thumbs up, joining Shinso on the floor.

“So what’s the goal here? Shape you guys into legal heroes?”

“I dunno,” Toga lay down, sucking on a blood flavoured lollipop that Yaomomo made for her. “Guess so? I mean, ‘Zuku’s been thinking of ways we can use our quirks for heroism but he’s alo seeing if there are any hobbies we might like or a job we’d be interested in.”

“I applied for a part time job once, but the other employees kept giving me their work, saying I could handle it because there was more of me,” Twice whined, not disagreeing with himself for once. “It was horrible.”

Shinso hummed before flopping back down into the beanbag, curling up into it.

“You two have class any time soon?”

The two looked at each other before shaking their heads.

“Good, we’re gonna chill with Lunch Rush,” Shinso stood up, hooking arms with the two and dragging them out of the room. “He makes killer burgers. Though he hates making fatty foods, even he would admit it’s his specialty.”
