All I have left

Summary:

His brothers taught him love. Jin taught him patience. And Noritoshi taught him pain.

Really just snapshots of Jin being a positive parent figure to Choso.

Notes:

What's this? A story with no plot and unlikable ship that no one asked for? That's wild.

I literally have no explanation for this, I just wanted to write a modern au how the hell did this happen? I really have other stories with decent ships that I could actually write about but I did this... I have to question my priorities.

Also NO, I don't ship Kamo and Jin. I just wanted to write Choso getting love from a parent.

The brothers ages in the beginning: Choso-8, Eso-7, Kechizu-5. In this hc I see it as their mother was able to give birth quickly earlier on before it became problematic and dangerous for her.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Choso was eight when it happened, he wasn't a fool. His father prided himself with the fact that he was more advanced than kids his age, but Choso didn't care.

He saw the marks and bruises on his mother, he heard the yelling and crying from his room where he was supposed to be sleeping, and he knew that his mother would get pregnant but when his parents would leave then return without them Choso understood what it meant.

He knew his father was an alpha and like any true knothead he wanted children, many children, but his mother was unable to provide. Choso knew that it was the driving force behind his mother's death.

And Choso knew that no one took that many pills at once.

"Hi you must be Choso, I'm Jin!" The pink haired man said with a big smile as he extended his hand to him.

Choso looked at the hand with a disinterested expression.

Noritoshi grunted and Choso took the omega's hand and returned the gesture.

He met Jin Itadori less than a year later. Less than a year after they buried his mother, it bothered Choso but his other brothers didn't return the sentiment.

Of course they didn't, they were still young, all they understood was a new omega filling the abandoned space. An omega who smiled brightly, smelt sweet, and gave hugs and kisses whenever prompted.

Choso didn't like how Jin looked so happy around Noritoshi because that implied he didn't know who he was dealing with or what he was getting himself into. He didn't like that potential pain he would have to endure.

He didn't like the idea of Jin replacing his mother and he decided from then on out that he didn't like Jin Itadori but he would do what he could to protect him from the monster that is his father.

During a family dinner Noritoshi had knelt down in front of the other and proposed to Jin, and the omega had said yes. Choso, much to his horror, had failed.

They had gotten married soon after, not many had attended the wedding and those who did didn't appear happy to be there.

Jin integrated into the family easily since no one but himself and Jin's father objected, but both of them were ignored in that aspect.

And despite him believing Noritoshi would do something reckless to Jin, Choso decided to give their marriage the benefit of the doubt. How foolish he was.

A month into their marriage, the arguing began yet it never evolved into shouting and screaming. But eventually four months later the screaming happened.

Until the sixth month where it all went silent, Jin had happily announced to the alpha that he was pregnant. They celebrated and even let all three of them have ice cream.

Yet even the omega's pregnancy did not stop their bickering, until one day he and his brothers sat in the living room enjoying their limited time with the tv, Jin walked in clearly upset. Noritoshi following suit "hormones or not you will not speak to me that way!"

The omega turned around "I will speak to you how I want!"

"You arrogant bitch, know your place!" Kamo spat and before they knew it Jin had been struck down by the other's hand. Jin looked up in shock as the hand on his cheek moved to protect his stomach, his surprised expression morphed to worry.

Kamo noticing the reaction came to his senses "Jin I-"

The omega stood and raced to their room, locking it before the alpha could reach it.

Kamo banged on the door and rattled the knob "Jin, open the door!"

"No, leave me alone!"

Noritoshi sighed before turning away, the three boys watching on yet remaining still and silent in case their father decided to lash out at them, but he simply grabbed his coat and shoes and walked out of the house.

Minutes later Jin opened the door and peeked out. "Is he here?" He asked, Eso shook his head.

Jin sighed in relief. "Good, he needs some air." He looked at their scared expressions before his own expression changed to a happy one despite the tear tracks on his cheeks. "Are you guys hungry?" Kechizu, quick to forget the subject had moved on to the idea of food, nodded excitedly "okay then I'll start making dinner!" Jin laughed as Kechizu offered to help.

The eldest looked at his reflection as he attempted to brush his hair, seemingly failing at detangling it when he noticed a round figure standing in the doorway.

He turned and locked eyes with Jin's, the omega smiling as if he was at ease, "what are you doing Choso?"

He scoffed "brushing my hair, but I can't do it right."

Jin laughed and waddled towards him, his hand gently placed on his growing stomach. The omega sat on the bed and pat the spot next to him, "bring the brush and hair ties."

Choso did as the other instructed, his mood lightening as the other released a calming scent or was that how he always smelt?

Choso sat on the bed with his legs crossed facing away from Jin as the other took the brush and began to gently brush through the strands.

They didn't speak to each other. Jin simply hummed and continued to brush until the bristles easily glided through his hair. When he finished he parted the hair in two sections and brushed it out once again for good measure before tying his hair up atop his head.

"Ta-da! I love this hairstyle, I hope you like it too!" Jin said excitedly.

Choso looked in the mirror to see two elaborate buns on top of his head, he liked it. "Tch it's okay," he shrugged, looking in the reflection to see the pregnant omega's content expression never changed even after his statement.

And if Choso went to him after that to style his hair, Jin never mentioned it. Just how Choso would never mention enjoying the warmth from the other.

It was dark outside so the house staff had been sent home and Noritoshi was at a late dinner meeting with other business partners, which meant that the house was left to two unpresented children, a young alpha and an omega five months into pregnancy.

They all sat on the couch watching a movie that had been Jin's idea. He had been especially shocked when he found out Noritoshi did not let them watch movies.

"What?! Not a single movie?"

Choso shook his head. “Not unless you count documentaries."

"No, no, no. That just won't do and documentaries don't count. Movies are fun and exciting!"

"Dad doesn't like us sitting down for a long amount of time," Eso chimed in.

Jin tilted his head and raised a brow, looking at them, allowing them to see their own reflection in his glasses. "But he makes you go to school then come back home to study? What a hypocrite." He sighed then bent over, resting his hands on his knees to be as close to their eye level as his stomach would allow "how about this, we have a movie night?"

"A... movie... night?" Kechizu repeated, confused. Choso looked at him, equally perplexed.

Jin laughed then stood up straight again "yeah I'll choose the movie and we can have popcorn and candy and it will be our little secret." He raised his pointer finger to his lips before winking.

"Yeah!" Eso and Kechizu shouted but Choso didn't respond as he watched them with his arms crossed.

And that's how they ended up here, Eso sitting on Jin's left with his head leaning back on the couch as he slept, Choso to the right of the omega and Eso fast asleep between Jin's legs with his head propped up by the others thigh.

Jin was watching the screen intently as he scooped up popcorn from the bowl settled atop his stomach. But Choso wasn't interested in the movie, it was an action flick but it seemed too cheesy and predictable. He shifted uncomfortably as he began to feel the chill and his eyes drooped, maybe he should head to bed-

"Oh this is the best part!" Jin said in a voice too loud to be considered a whisper.

Choso looked at the screen attempting to watch but his eyes began to close, he tried holding back the sleep and fighting the tiredness from his system. He felt himself leaning towards the omega, but he stopped himself before they touched. He decided to lay back on the couch in an uncomfortable angle, it hurt his neck.

Jin seemed to notice as he spoke up "if you want you can lean on me, I don't mind."

Choso blinked his eyes open in surprise, their eyes locking. He swallowed the argument down and decided to do as the other said and rested his head on his shoulder before darkness swallowed him.

He awoke a bit later to the same movie playing, but instead of his head being on Jin's shoulder it was now on his plump stomach as he played with his untied hair. He quickly pulled back but Jin stopped him with the same hand that was running through his hair.

"Hey, hey it's alright you're not hurting the baby" he whispered.

Deciding to just listen to the man Choso turned his body so he was facing the man's chest and closed his eyes again before feeling a faint thump on his cheek.

He pulled back in surprise and opened his mouth to ask but Jin simply laughed.

"I guess they realised their brother was right there or maybe they just don't like to share" Jin giggled.

"They?" Choso looked from the stomach to its owner with hopeful eyes.

"Not like that, there's only one baby but we just don't know it's gender yet, your dad wants to know at next week's appointment but I don't mind leaving it a mystery for a bit."

"What do you want?" Choso asks hesitantly.

Jin shrugs "it doesn't matter, they will still be my baby no matter what." He smiled softly. "What about you, Choso would you want a brother or sister?"

There was a lapse in conversation as neither spoke "I-I don't care either, I will love them either way."

Jin's smile widened, Choso supposed that was what he wanted to hear. The pink haired omega trapped his wrist before placing his hand on his stomach where the young alpha felt another kick.

"Woah."

"Yes darling that's your big brother, he can't wait to see you." Jin whispered to his stomach.

"C-can I speak to them too?"

"Of course" Jin laughed.

"Hi little brother or sister, it's me, your big brother Choso. When we meet I'm going to take good care of you, I'm going to be the best onii-chan you'll ever have!" Choso shouted, almost waking the other two up.

Jin chuckled, the movie long forgotten as they spoke to the baby, enjoying the serenity that the moment brought. As soon as the movie ended they turned the tv off, hid any evidence of a movie night and returned to their rooms, Noritoshi never found out.

Jin had given birth a day ago and their father was allowing all three of them to see the new baby.

Eso and Kechizu were excited but Choso was hesitant.

He was the last to hold the baby but when he did he was greeted with soft pink tufts of hair and brown eyes, soft gurgling ringing in his ears.

"His name is Yuuji." Jin chimed.

And from that moment on Choso realized he didn't hate Jin, he couldn't. And Yuuji? Well he was another reason to smile throughout the day.

As five years went by the pain and abuse didn't stop and if Choso was to judge it didn't seem like it was getting any better.

"Don't touch him!" Yuuji yells at his father.

Kamo turned his glare to Yuuji from Jin who was performing dogeza, his angry pheromones filling the room to a stifling point. "Never speak to me like that, boy!" The alpha stomps towards him preparing to slap his youngest.

Before Noritoshi could reach him a small figure jumps between Kamo and Yuuji. The crying toddler only seeing Choso's back through his tears as his older brother shielded him from the other.

Choso stared at their father defiantly, "I will not let you hurt him! You're the reason why mother died, she kept having miscarriage after miscarriage and you made her feel like it was her fault to the point that she killed herself but it was you! You did that to her! You destroyed our family and I won't let you do it again, not to this family! Not to them!" Choso declared.

Noritoshi briefly froze, his anger shifting to shock then back to anger in a matter of seconds, he slapped Choso who fell to the floor, Eso and Kechizu looking from the side of the room, Eso moved to help him but Choso looked up and gave him a look to stay put. Kechizu took the opportunity to hide behind him.

The alpha scoffed then walked towards the door, slamming it open, grabbing his jacket from the coat rack and sliding his shoes on before shutting the door with excessive force. He was probably going to go out to drink and if they were lucky he would be out all night until the next day.

Jin slowly crawled towards Choso and Yuuji, the youngest ran towards the omega hugging him "papa are you okay?" He asked worried.

"Yes," He managed to say without his voice wobbling, "thank you for defending me Yuuji and you too Choso." He pulls away from Yuuji and reaches out to help the other boy stand before pulling him into a hug as well. Yuuji feeling excluded and wanting to hug them both joins in, Jin chuckles then stops, looking at Eso and Kechizu he smiles gently before inviting them "well don't just stand there join in on the hug."

And they do, all five of them hugging in the center of the living room.

Choso sat on the floor as Jin brushed out his hair, detangling it for his favorite hairstyle.

"Jin- ah I mean pa, why do you still stay with him? All he's done is hurt you and I don't like seeing you hurt neither do Kechizu, Eso and Yuuji. Why don't you run away? We can run away together."

Jin stopped the brushing, sighing then putting the brush down "Choso look at me," he waited until the boy turned "I love your father and I know that deep down he loves me too, he wouldn't have asked me to marry him if he didn't. But sometimes marriages have their ups and downs but no matter what we have to keep looking forward with a bright smile on our face." The man offered in a hopeful tone.

Choso looked at him wearing a pout on his face clearly not believing him.

The omega laughed "not to mention I've always wanted a family and your father gave me that. He gave me Yuuji, your brothers and you. And for that I'm very grateful, so thank you for being in my life, Choso."

The young boy gulped as he attempted to hold back tears but failed as he heard himself sob.

Jin's face morphed to one of surprise and panic as he wondered what he said wrong, quickly he reached for the boy and held him to his chest and rubbed his back in soothing circles, calming pheromones wafting from him.

"Shh shh it's okay, calm down, I'm sorry if I said anything wrong. But it's true I love you all."

Choso looked up at him "b-but I'm not really y-your son."

Jin closed his eyes and smiled brightly "well of course you are, we're family and family is important. Whenever you get lost they're the ones who help you find yourself again and steer you back on the right path" he said then placed a kiss on his forehead.

They stayed there for a moment; Choso wrapped in the omega's arms sniffling into his neck as the other nuzzled his nose into his dark hair and rubbed his back.

Kechizu chased Yuuji around the front yard as Choso and Eso remained inside drying and putting dishes away, Jin watched from the doorway a fond smile on his lips.

Yuuji stopped almost causing Kechizu to crash into him, Jin tensed in concern at the possible accident before turning to where Yuuji was looking.

"Daddy's home!" He cheered.

Jin saw the man as he stepped out of his car wearing his tailored suit, silver watch, his greying hair slicked back as usual and his mustache perfectly trimmed.

The older man walked towards Jin and greeted him with a kiss.

"Welcome home darling how was your meeting?"

Kamo hands his briefcase to him then sighs in response. "Awful, my brother continued to scold my decisions claiming I was ruining the company brand. As if! I'm making revelations, choices that will grant them piles of money for years yet they look down on me and call me a disgrace."

Jin frowns and adjusts his glasses "dear that's not true I'm sure your ideas are amazing-" He defends until Yuuji disrupts them.

"Daddy! Come inside I made a cool drawing!" Yuuji all but yells pulling the man's arm inside.

"Yes, yes I'm going" Noritoshi says as if it were a chore. He walks in and is greeted by a polite Eso who bows in greeting and a stoic Choso who merely continues to frown with his arms crossed "Choso."

"Father."

They continue to stare at each other before he asks "are your studies going well?"

Choso nods "yes and I'm ahead of my class."

Noritoshi smiles "good I'm glad you're exceeding my standards."

Choso scoffs before turning away much to the alphas dismay.

Yuuji tugs "c'mon daddy my drawing is really cool and I want to show you!"

He allows himself to be dragged, placing a hand on Kechizu's head before walking away.

Jin giggled at the scene before him.

Choso watched as Noritoshi walked to the car and got in, Jin was rushing around giving his dad the information needed to babysit them for the night.

Wasuke scoffed and claimed it was a load of crap, "I'll watch the kids how I want to, as long as they're in one piece and asleep by the time you return that's all that matters, right? Let me deal with the brats my way."

Jin laughed and bid farewell to all of them, claiming how much he loved them and he'll miss them the entire time he's gone. He stopped when he spotted Choso by the door. "Hey Choso, can we talk?"

Choso looked at him but didn't respond "hmm?"

"Promise me that you'll take care of them? I mean, I trust my dad and all but make sure they stay out of trouble when he isn't looking, okay?"

Choso nodded "okay."

"You promise?" Jin asked, sticking out his pinky finger to the boy.

Choso gave a soft smile "I promise."

"Take good care of them! Be the best onii-chan I know you are!" He shouted as he waved the oldest son off.

And Choso did. He took his job seriously, when their grandfather was asleep or distracted he made sure that his brothers got to have fun but never anything too dangerous, a nice mix as Jin liked to state.

As he showed Yuuji how to draw hand turkeys and Eso flipped through channels while Kechizu napped, Wasuke's phone rang.

"Yes this is him, who is this?"

Choso looked up and to the old man who listened to the other person on the phone. Wasuke froze, his posture straightened up as his grasp loosened and he dropped his phone, his knees buckling before hitting the ground as well.

Choso stood "hey gramps what's up?"

Eso looked over to them as did Yuuji.

Wasuke looked at him "put on your shoes," he whispered, loud enough for them to hear, not looking at them as he stared off into the distance in disbelief.

Choso raised a brow as did Eso. "What?"

"Put your shoes on now!" He yelled, startling them all and causing Kechizu to wake.

They arrived at the hospital, but it was too late. Jin Itadori and Noritoshi Kamo were involved in a collision with a drunk driver.

Noritoshi had died on impact. But Jin...

Jin had survived. He was rushed to the hospital as he remained in a comatose state, hanging on by barely a thread as he fought for his life before he too succumbed to death.

Notes:

If you made it to the end thanks, this was really a self indulgent fic. I swear Jin has only been in two(2) panels and I'm already simping, I hope Gege doesn't make him a bad guy/character because he seems so sweet.

Also this is kinda inspired by Choso's speech to Naoya about brothers and keeping them on the right path.

Originally I wanted to write a cute family dynamic and modern au fic where Choso and Yuuji are half siblings cuz *SPOILER ALERT* they actually are but before it was revealed that Kenjaku had hijacked his moms brain I was going to originally have it be that they shared the same dad (aka Noritoshi Kamo) but the mom was different but then the manga ruined it. So I was scratching my head with how I would write it in a real world scenario (I mean I could've kept Yuuji's mom and switch Jin with Kamo or vice versa but I didn't like that) but alas I couldn't think of anything else until my mind settled with my original idea but instead Jin would be the other parent Kamo gets with but it only worked with abo and I wasn't about to tread on trans territory and misrepresent a group of people.

Whew what an explanation especially after I said I didn't have one... Haha sorry, but if you read this part too thank you! I'm glad you did it means a lot.
