The Surprise

Summary:

A day in the life of the Jongcheveevat/Traipipattanapong household.

Notes:

This was posted on twitter first under goldenmango14.

It all started when I was teasing my au friends about their fluffy domestic MG stories. So I tweeted this:

In the end, after a few requests, I wrote this piece that ended up being the very thing I teased my friends about...

Work Text:

As the morning sunlight touched Gulf's face, he stretched and yawned. He reached up and kissed Mew's cheek. The fresh growth of whiskers tickled Gulf's lips and he smiled. He then nuzzled into Mew neck as he cuddled against his husband. Mew stirred and sighed in contentment as he dragged his large hand down Gulf's silky back to land on his plump ass. With his eyes still closed, he gave the round mound a gentle squeeze. Gulf laughed.

"Are you really going to check my ass out every day?"

"Till I die. I'm still in mourning over the loss of the poong ka tee," Mew grumbled.

Gulf grinned. His hand slipped down to Mew's penis and gave it a soft squeeze.

"As long as I own this, I don't care if you get old and flabby."

Mew gave a light pinch on Gulf's butt. He opened his eyes slowly, reached for his phone and peered at the time.

"We are going to have to get up if we want to get there before everyone else."

Gulf eyed Mew for a moment and stuck out a fist. Mew put his out and the two proceeded to play rock - paper - scissors. Mew pretended to groaned when he lost, but to be honest, felt he won as Gulf let out a big victory whoop. He pumped his fists in the air and Mew just smiled at his pretty darling.

"I want pancakes," Gulf gloated.

They climbed out of bed, making it as they flirted with each other. Then they went to the bathroom where they washed each others faces and brushed their teeth. They playfully bumped each other with their hips and winked at each other. As they put their toothbrush back, they looked at each other in the mirror. Then there was a mad dash for the toilet with the two men trying to trip and block each other. Mew made it first and smirked at Gulf. The latter just shrugged and leaned against the wall while he waited.

"Are you excited about today?" Mew asked as he switched with Gulf and started washing his hands.

Gulf nodded his head eagerly.

"I have the car loaded and food packed. It's going to be so much fun."

As Gulf went to the sink to wash his hands, he stared intently at Mew.

"You're not going to bail," he told Mew in a hard voice as he glared at the handsome man.

Mew stepped behind Gulf, wrapping his arms around and resting his chin on his shoulder.

"Tuaeng," whined Mew, "it was one time."

"It was three times."

"New Zealand wasn't my fault. The flight was delayed."

"For three day?"

Mew paused. He turned Gulf and gave him a deep kiss. Gulf's eyes turned soft and he smiled at Mew.

"I want bacon too," he winked then flicked droplets of water into Mew's face.

Mew opened his mouth and pretended to chomp on Gulf's round cheek. They both laughed in delight with each other then gave one final kiss before leaving the bathroom.

Mew went to the closet and selected comfortable clothes for both of them. As they dressed they heard a series of short barks a short distance away. Gulf sighed and left the room. Mew headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. He heard an exclamation of surprise followed by deep gales of laughter. Curious, he leaned back and craned his neck, trying to see down the hallway. Some bacon grease splattered on his hand and he jumped in surprise.

After he finished cooking, Mew turned the heat off. He scooped the bacon on to a draining tray. Grabbing the pancakes, which were staying warm under a lid, he quickly distributed the food on to dishes.

"Breakfast is ready," he called.

"Coming," Gulf replied. Padding feet and toenails clicked down the hallway, coming closer. Mew turned with a huge smile and opened his arms up wide.

"How are my babies," he cried as two small bodies slammed into his long legs.

There was shouts of joy as the two fluffy hair children giggled as Mew sniff kissed each one. As he scooped them into his arms, they gave shrieks of delight at the thrill of being so high. He pretended to drop them as they shrieked again as Chopper barked at the noise.

"Again, Daddy," Natasha begged.

Alexander nodded his head in agreement. Mew was happy to oblige. He finally got them to their chairs and gently placed them on their seats.

"Where is Papa," he asked Natasha.

"Putting something away in your bedroom," she replied.

Alexander nodded in agreement as he shoved a huge piece of pancake into his mouth.

"Careful Xan," Gulf quietly said as he entered the kitchen. "Next time, I'll cook," he said to Mew as he slid into his seat. Mew pouted as he sat down.

"I worked hard on breakfast."

"I worked even harder getting the kids ready. Next time I get to cook."

"I lost at rock - paper - scissors."

"You cheated. Don't think I didn't notice."

Mew quickly turned to Natasha and asked her if she was ready for the special surprise.  Natasha giggled and started talking rapidly in excitement about everything under the sun. Mew smiled at his cunning. He could always count on his little human radio to get himself out of a jam. He saw Gulf roll his eyes out of the corner of his eye but he chose to ignore it.

Whenever Natasha took a breath, Mew would stick a piece of food in her mouth. There was a short moment of silence while she quickly chewed and swallowed before launching into her favorite pastime again. Talking. Mew thought his plan worked too well. He looked over at Gulf who gave a knowing look before turning back to Alexander.

Mew frowned. Only Gulf was able to redirect Natasha when she started going. It looked like Gulf was getting back at Mew for his trickery. Gulf was busy cutting food as fast as he could as Alexander shoveled it into his mouth even faster. Mew had told Gulf repeatedly that the boy wasn't going to choke but Gulf didn't listen.

Suddenly Alexander started to cough and Gulf gave him a few firm pats on his back. He turned to look at Mew as if to say, 'see' before turning to Alexander again who was back to shoveling food into his mouth contentedly. Gulf shook his head.

Turning to Natasha, Gulf cleared his throat. Natasha quietly starting eating. Mew sighed in relief. He blew a kiss to Gulf who grabbed it from the air which caused the kids to giggled. Gulf wiggled his eyebrows at the kids and they started laughing.

Mew propped his chin in his hand, eating a piece of bacon as he stared at Gulf. The kids were having fits of laughter as Gulf told them new jokes he had come up with. He had once said that there was no audience better than his own children. They all had the same humor.

"Papa," yelled Natasha, "Daddy's elbow is on the table again!"

Mew quickly sat up and glared at his daughter.

"Ash," Gulf warned, "We've talked about this. Next time, you may kindly remind Papa about our rule."

Natasha nodded her head. Gulf kept looking at her until she turned to Mew and said sorry.

"It's time to get ready to go. Ash and Xan, please clean up," Gulf said.

Mew looked at his watch.

"We have two hours, Tuaeng..." he said curiously.

Gulf gasped.

"Aow, did you hear that kids. Let's go or we'll be late."

Mew blinked in surprise but he stood up and went over to the pantry with the rubber scraper. The kids slid off their chairs and took their plates over. Mew helped them hold their plates as they scraped the remains of their breakfast into the compost container. Then they walked to the dishwasher where Gulf helped them load their dishes.

"Teerak," Gulf murmured, "I'll finish here. Get the kids ready to go please."

Mew nodded and gave Gulf a kiss before herding the kids down the hall. With everyone out of the way, it took Gulf only a few minutes to scrape the rest of the dishes, load the dishwasher and wipe the table and chairs.

Meanwhile, Mew grabbed two washcloths he wet with warm water and handed one to each child. The kids walked over to the mirror he had attached to the inside of the bathroom door. He watched with eagle eyes as the kids attempted to wipe their face and hands.

Once they were done, he did a gentle, final wipe. He looked on as the kids took the cloths to the washing machine across the hall and threw them in the washing machine. They came back to the bathroom and took turns using the toilet. Mew asked Alexander twice if he was sure he was finished before he let him get off the toilet.

He even looked in the toilet to confirm that he had actually gone before he let Alexander flush. As the kids stood on the stool and washed their hands, they sang their hand washing song as Mew reminded them to scrub their wrists. Gulf had once told Mild that Mew had trained the kids to wash their hands better than a surgeon before abdominal surgery.

Finally the children were ready and Mew left them in the entryway to put on their shoes while he went to check on Gulf. He found him drying the cleaned skillet. He took it from Gulf's hand and finished drying it and put it away. Then he pulled Gulf to him and kissed him passionately. Gulf wrapped his arms around Mew neck and kissed him back with gusto. When they broke away for air, Gulf peered down the hallway to the kids.

"They are still struggling with the sandals," he said then proceeded to kiss Mew again.

They were enjoying themselves immensely when Natasha called to them. Gulf regretfully pulled away as Mew rubbed his back and nuzzled his cheek.

"Teerak," Gulf whispered, "Remind me to tell you later what I found Alex holding in his hand this morning. You won't believe it."

"What was he holding Tuaeng?"

Gulf grinned but Natasha called again before he could answer. Gulf wrapped his arm around Mew waist as they walked down the hallway. Mew had to help Natasha switch her sandals as they were on the wrong feet. Then they walked to the garage with Gulf asking Alexander twice if he had to go. Alexander nodded his head quickly while grinning just like Gulf did and Mew felt his heart melting. God, he and Gulf were so blessed.

Gulf started loaded the back of the trunk but called to Mew complaining that everything didn't fit. He saw Mew silently sighed but said nothing as he really was terrible at packing. He switched places with Mew and checked that the kids were secured in their carseats.

He looked Alexander right in the eye and asked him if he had to go and the darling shook his head in the negative. Gulf decided to trust him and asked Mew if he needed help. He bit his lip to hide a smile when he heard Mew quickly reply no with utter conviction.

"Tuaeng," Mew called out. "Do we really need the double stroller? They're three and a half now. Can't they walk?"

"They will walk. But you know eventually they are going to get tired. They have little legs."

"Then we can carry them."

"For how long before WE get tired?"

Mew grumbled but he wedged the stroller in. After three attempts, and one curse under his breath, he finally got the door closed. Damn he thought, I'm already tired. He walked to the front of the car and got in the driver's seat. He heard Natasha ask Alexander if he had to go potty. He grinned. After Mew buckled up he turned to Gulf.

"Ready to go?"

Gulf nodded his head just as Alexander had done earlier. Mew couldn't stopped himself from grinning like a fool. Gulf leaned over and kissed Mew.

"They are kissing again," Natasha told Alexander who covered his mouth to try and hide his giggling.

Gulf laughed.

"That's what parents do."

"Every chance we get," Mew whispered under his breath but Gulf heard and smirked at Mew.

"Let's go," Mew said.

They made it to the stop sign at the end of their street when they heard Alexander whispering to Natasha. Gulf sighed and took his husband's hand as Mew turned the car around and headed home.

"Xan has to pee," Natasha stated.

"Xan, Daddy, Ash and I all asked you if you had to go..."

"He did go," Natasha cried defensively. "He just has to go more."

Mew and Gulf looked at each other and tried to suppress their laughter. Ten minutes later they were on the road again. Mew now saw why Gulf was worried they were going to run late. Finally they arrived at their destination.

"The ZOO," Natasha shouted!

Alexander shrieked in delight, kicking his legs as Mew unbuckled him.

"Stay in the park kids," Gulf warned as Mew struggled to get the stroller out of the back.

While he tugged and pulled to open the stroller, Gulf coated the kids in sunblock as they danced around in excitement. Mew stuffed wipes, a change of clothes, snacks and drinks into the stroller. Finally everyone was ready. Each parent took a child's hand and they crossed the street to enter the zoo.

A few hours later, and many snacks later, Natasha declared that she and Alexander were famished. She also declared she couldn't walk anymore and flung her body to the ground. Natasha was a very dramatic child.

Mew picked her up and carried her to prove to Gulf that the stroller wasn't needed. Gulf said nothing as he helped Alexander climb in. They started back towards the car.

A few minutes later, Mew put Natasha in the stroller. Gulf said nothing but smiled. Mew was relieved when he saw the park. He was hot and thirsty. Once they got to the car, Mew groaned at the prospect of putting the stroller back into the car. Gulf told him to leave it as they needed the cooler anyways. Gulf and the kids laid the picnic blanket out under a shady tree while Mew struggled to get the cooler out of the trunk and over the uneven ground.

"Tuaeng," Mew whined, "what's in here?"

Gulf shrugged as he helped the kids use wipes to clean their hands. Mew opened the lid and whistled when he peered inside.

"How many bags of ice did you use?"

"I was worried about food poisoning."

Mew dug through the ice and fished out plates and glasses.

"Really?" he asked as he stared at the real plates and glasses. Gulf just shrugged again.

"Better for the environment."

Mew said nothing since he was the one who had gotten Gulf into being more green. Who knew it would bite him in the ass like this. Weren't there recycled paper products out there that were lighter? Next he pulled out a thick, reusable zipper bag that was full of cloth napkins. When he dug through the ice again and pulled out a fruit salad that was packed in glass Tupperware, he started to laugh. Gulf turned and gave Mew a look but Mew ignored it.

"Alright everyone, eat a lot so this cooler gets lighter for Daddy to carry," he chuckled as he pulled out enough food and drinks to feed a small army.

An hour later, Mew was laying on his side as he stared in awe. Gulf deftly dumped the ice from the cooler on the other side of the tree; used the cloth napkins to wrap the glass Tupperware and packed it in the cooler. He left the lid open. Then he plopped down next to Mew. God, Mew loved his husband. He rolled so his head was in Gulf's lap.

"I married a very smart man," whispered Mew.

Gulf grinned and kissed Mew when he heard that. He started to run his fingers through Mew's hair. This made Mew hum with pleasure.

"Your the one who has the PhD brain," Gulf quietly said as he turned his head to check on their sleeping kids.

"I used that PhD brain to make you fall in love with me."

"It worked. I'm happily caught."

Mew put his hand on the back of Gulf's neck and pulled him down for a deep kiss. Mew sighed in satisfaction. Gulf leaned back and started playing with Mew hair again. Mew closed his eyes sleepily as he remembered what Gulf said in the kitchen earlier.

"Tuaeng?"

"Hmm?"

"What were you trying to tell me earlier?"

"When Teerak?"

"In the kitchen earlier. Something about Xan having something in his hand? Hey, don't laugh so loud. You'll wake up the kids."

"...." Gulf just kept laughing.

"Gulf, stop laughing. Are you going to tell me or not? Now I'm curious. What did Alexander have in his hand?"

"Our dildo."
