"Ah... Emu?" Poppy inquired, "What's that in your arms?"
Situated in Emu's arms, like one might hold a stuffed animal, was a familiar looking pink shape, with spikey hair and big eyes. The... Mighty... Was kicking his feet around, like a child sitting on a big person chair, his hands wrapped around Emu's arms. Mighty peered up at her, silent, but seeming like he was judging.
"This is... Mighty. I think." Emu responded, looking down at Mighty in his arms. At that, Mighty began to wiggle, until Emu let him go and he jumped down to the ground. "Not sure where he came from though? I think he's a Bugster... But he just sort of showed up in my kitchen this morning?"
Poppy had been looking at Mighty, but when Emu had began explaining, looked up at him. When he finished, she shot him a curious expression, "In your kitchen?"
"Yeah..." Rubbing the back of his neck, Emu sighed, "He really startled me."
"But how?"
"I have no clue."
There was a boing! And soon Mighty had jumped onto the table, leveling the two with his only expression. Poppy and Emu turned there attention to him, as though he might be able to say something. Though he, as he always seemed, was quiet.
"So..." Emu began, after a moment of silence, though he didn't dare take his eyes away from Mighty, "What should we do with him?"
Taking a moment to think, Poppy responds, "Well, we should keep him here. To keep him out of trouble," She said, "Though if he's a Bugster..."
"Then he should be someone's Bugster."
Poppy nods, "But for now he'll just have to stay here, until we figure it out." At this point, Mighty seemed to have gotten bored, sat down on the table, his eyes closed.
As they went about their day, the two had forgotten about Mighty, and though Poppy had told the director about the newest Bugster, they hadn't mentioned it to anyone else.
Which meant that when Hiro had entered the CR that day, he'd found only one odd thing. What he thought was a plush of Mighty. He assumed Poppy or Emu had left it there, it was something either of the two would probably have - Poppy because it's cute, Emu because of his Gashat, if nothing else. So he payed it little mind.
At least until he looked away and it was gone.
Now if Hiro were a more superstitious man, he'd have been rather freaked out. But Hiro was not superstitious, not in the slightest. So while it was odd that the Mighty plush had disappeared, he chose to disregard it. Perhaps he's simply been mistaken and it'd never been there at all. Or maybe it'd just fallen - it had been near the edge of the table.
So Hiro continued on, sitting down with a slice of cake. As he went about eating, he'd occasionally hear an odd sound, but he could never find the source. He decided that he was probably just imagining it, the Bugsters that have been appearing might have been getting to them.
Something lands on the ground and rolls to his feet, some kind of empty can. It catches Hiro's attention, prompting him to lean down and pick it up. He wasn't really sure where'd it come from or how it had even fallen.
Belip!
At the strange sound, Hiro sits back up and turns towards it source, the table. There, standing behind the Hiro's plate was Mighty. The very same one that had been on the table earlier. The plate though, was lacking something. The remains of Hiro's cake had disappeared, leaving the only answer to it's disappearance being Mighty. Mighty, who looked at him with an equally non-expressive face as Hiro was looking at him.
Mighty, who isn't real.
It was about then that he heard the tell-tale footstep of Poppy and Emu entering the CR. Perhaps they might have an explanation, or at least be able to help him get rid of this pink gremlin.
"Oh, Hiro!" Poppy exclaimed, "You've met Mighty!"
"Mighty," Hiro repeats slowly, "And where did Mighty come from?"
Sheepishly, Emu explained, "He showed up in my kitchen this morning?" He hadn't meant for it to sound like a question, but given the look Hiro was giving him... Well it wasn't much different from Hiro's normal expression, but still.
"This morning?"
"Emu brought him here," Poppy explained, "The director thinks we should keep him here so he can't cause trouble. We think he's a Bugster."
"We, ah, we forgot to tell you, didn't we?" Emu realized, hoping that he wouldn't be on the sole receiving end of Hiro's ire.
"You did."
"He ate my cake, I believe."
Poppy frowned and marched over to Mighty, "Mighty! You can't go eating Hiro's cake!"
Mighty didn't respond, instead just hopped down off the table and into a chair, sitting down on it. He almost seemed like a human, not the strange ball with hair and limbs that he was. It was hard to tell what he was thinking, since he only had eyes and didn't speak.
