Chapter Text
“GET OUT OF HERE YOU FREAK,” yelled the shopkeeper as Nightmare ran out of the store, the door slamming behind him. He tore through the woods, looking for a place to hide until the shopkeeper gave up, and it wasn’t long before he did.
”Stupid curse,” the shopkeeper muttered, “ would be better if a creeper were to find you and blow you up.” The shopkeeper grumbles, walking away. Nightmare smiled before deciding to find his brother. The victory could be celebrated with him. He stood up, walking towards him and his brother’s hiding place. He walks until he comes across a patch of leaves. He moves the leaves aside, revealing a little trap door. He opens it and climbs down into the hole, which opens up into a little room surrounded by dirt.
”Hey, Dream! I got some food from the store,” he calls out, smiling. Dream peeks around the corner, seeing his brother before smiling and beckoning him over. Nightmare jogs over with the bread and places it on the table, before getting a chair and sitting down. Dream takes a seat next to him, grabbing the bread before opening it. He takes a slice before giving one to his brother and they both eat.
Nightmare swallows his bread before asking,
”So, what were you doing,” Nightmare asks.
”Nothing. I was trying to sleep til you came back,” Dream replies before taking another bite out of his bread.
”Oh. Well, what do you think we should do after we’re done eating?”
”Well, we could go out and map the place o-“ The sound of talking quiets the brothers before the sound of the trap door opening causes them to scramble and hide in their bedroom. The voices get louder as they descend the ladder.
”Woah, this place is so cool!”
”Shut up, Sapnap! Do you want some creeper to wander in here?”
”Language, but George is right. We should keep quiet before a mob wanders down the ladder.”
”Shouldn’t we leave? It looks like people live here and I don’t think they’d want us to be here. I mean, there is a reason there were leaves covering it you know?”
”Shut up, Ant. If you hadn’t tripped on it, we wouldn’t be here in the first place!”
”Hey! Language!”
”Uh, guys?”
”What, George?”
”There’s some bread on the table..”
There was a pause before the sound of them quietly whispering to each other filled the room. Soon, the ladder creaking and the trapdoor closing again signified their leave.
Nightmare slowly lets out a breath before turning and looking at Dream. Dream slowly looks back at him before going,
”We should leave.”
