Summary
After what happened in the Atlantic, Colonel Yoon Jeonghan swore that he would never enter the drift with anyone ever again. The defeat of the Class 5 Kaiju had come at too high a price. There were no words to describe the pain of being ripped from your co-pilot like that: it was like experiencing death two-fold, unbearable, piercing cold and then pain so hot it seared right through your bones.
But now there’s a new kaiju on the horizon and all of the continent is under threat again. When he’s asked to pilot the Asymptote X again, he decides he’ll do it alone or die trying. But General Choi Seungcheol knows that Jeonghan isn’t a solo flight kind of guy and he has just the new recruit for him: Star Pilot Captain Hong Jisoo, fresh from the Los Angeles base, newly-minted and ready for his first mission.
