Everyone could tell something was amiss when both Todoroki and Midoriya practically dragged themselves into class, the most irritated and annoyed expressions plastered on their faces.
While this was quite a common expression, seeing a reflection of it on Midoriya's face was extremely unsettling for the class, most of all for Bakugou who had never seen so much of a hint of annoyance in the younger boy's face in all the years they had known each other.
Aizawa-sensei narrowed his eyes at the pair before doing what most of the class would've done had they arrived after the two, and promptly turned on his heel and walked out of class.
When it becomes clear Aizawa-sensei isn't returning, it's Bakugou who breaks the silence in the room. "Okay. What the fuck is wrong with you assholes?" He glares at the two in question, crimson eyes bearing down on the head of green hair behind him.
To any outsider, it would look like Bakugou is angry and upset at the two, but anyone who really knows the three knows this is Bakugou's way of showing concern.
Midoriya lets out an exasperated sigh while Todoroki chooses to continually glare at the wall. "We're fine. I don't know what you're on about." Everyone stills at the rare trace of toxicity that Midoriya's voice holds and the piercing gaze he's chosen to have directed onto the blank ceiling instead of looking at any of them.
"Todoroki-Kun ar-" Todoroki cuts of Iida before the class president has a chance to get his words out. "Don't."
As Aizawa-sensei returned to the class, with what looks liked 3 cups of coffee, and levels Midoriya and Todoroki with an exasperated glare before turning to the class to begin the day. They all gave up on trying understand the situation, but the questioning and concerned gazes still wandered their beings.
The rest of the class passes with concerned glances and exasperated sighs being passed back and forth until the bell rings. The two are cornered again at their lunch table doing their lunch period, both sporting matching looks of annoyance as they discuss something that seems to progressively piss them off even more.
Bakugou slams his tray down on their table and glares loud and harsh at the duo, crimson eyes narrowing at their faces. "You two fucks are going to either CALM THE FUCK DOWN OR TELL EVERYONE WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED."
Midoriya lets out an aggressively exasperated sigh before turning to his explosive childhood friend. "If you must know, a certain flaming pile of shit is visiting the school next week."
Now, let it be known that Midoriya Izuku only swears when he really means it.
The entire class's mouths drop open in shock as Bakugou and surprisingly Iida and Yaoyorozu let out a noise of understanding. "Ah understandable, if you two need help with whatever you're planning let me know." Kaminari turns to Iida incredulously, almost passing out the the pure look of mischievousness that's taken over the class presidents face.
It's Sero who tries to clear up the confusion. "Um.. Who?" The class watches as Midoriya wrinkles his nose in disgust and Todoroki's eyes sharpen before answering in an Aizawa-like deadpan. "Endeav-whore."
That alone is enough to send the entire class 1-A into hysterics. Kirishima looked at them both incredulously, shock practically vibrating through his entire being. "What did -uh- Endeavor do to you?"
They both answered in almost perfect unison.
"He's my father."
"I met him in person."
And then the two demons that are the cause of this whole mess turn to Iida and Yaoyorozu with the biggest grins anyone's seen on them all day. "So... about the offer for help-"
--
And when the day came, Class 1-A was beyond nervous. The ominous words voiced by their two powerhouses still echoing through their minds, they had spent all week holed up in their dorms, whispers of plans and groans of frustration were the only thing most heard out of them.
They watched as Midoriya sauntered into class, an unusual look plastered on his face and steps laced with determination as he sat down in his desk and Todoroki soon followed after, mirroring Midoriya's expression.
Aizawa narrowed his eyes at the two, calculating irises eyeing Midoriya and Todoroki as they exchanged hushed words and their classmates stared on with anticipation and horror.
He decided he wasn't payed enough to deal with this.
Aizawa cleared his throat, pulling his class's attention towards him as he stood in front of the board. "We have a visitor in the Auditorium today to give a presentation on villain apprehension and interpersonal relationships within a hero agency. I expect you all to be on your best behaviours, I won't have my class embarrass U.A." Aizawa made sure to direct those last few words in Midoriya and Todoroki's direction, hoping his words would have some effect on the two.
He suppressed a groan when the two problem children seemed to have ignored his entire speech and were thoroughly engrossed in a conversation, most likely pertaining to their plans for today, if the megawatt grins on their face was anything to go by.
Resigning himself to his fate, Aizawa pushed himself off the podium and gestured for the class to follow him to the Auditorium.
--
Class 1-A sat in nervous silence, shifting side-to-side as they tried to keep an eye on Midoriya, Todoroki, Iida and Yaoyorozu. The four seemed to be engaged in a quiet conversation with manic smiles plastered on their faces as the principal of UA took his place in front of the podium on stage.
"Hello Students! I must say it is quite wonderful to see all of you here today." The twinkle in Nedzu's eye caught 1-A square in the face, the knowing and approving nod sent their way by their principal only seemed to escalate the anxiety bubbling inside the students.
The principal turned to address the crown once again. "I'm loathe to pull you from your studies but I have an exciting guest speaker here today to talk to you all!" Midoriya's and Todoroki's faces immediately soured, a distasteful look flashing over their eyes.
"So without further delay ... please welcome the Number One Pro Hero; Endeavor!" Midoriya seemed to outright gag as the man in question walked up on stage, wearing his hero suit and his infamous flames curling around his face.
The flames seemed to die down but a few steps as Endeavor stood in front of the mic. "Good Afternoon UA's hero course. Today I, Pro Hero Endeavor, impart onto you lessons I have learned in my many years as a Pro Hero."
He stood at the stage awkwardly waiting for a greeting that never came, before pulling himself together to continue his speech. "One of the most important things to understand as a Pro Hero is proper quirk use. Your quirk is your most important tool while fighting villain and without it-".
He was interrupted by water spilling out from seemingly nowhere right onto his head, dispelling his flames and leaving a soaking wet Endeavor in its wake. A disgruntled noise tore its way from Endeavors throat, the glare he directed towards the ceiling was not missed, neither was the glare he directed towards the student body as muffled laughter sounded out throughout the Auditorium.
Endeavor turned to face Nedzu. "Who did that?" The pro demanded, a harsh glare fixed on his face as he questioned the Principal of UA, who simply shrugged and turned away to smile at the students.
As Endeavor stepped off the stage to dry off, several heads to turned to look at Midoriya and Todorki, half in fear and half in amusement. The green-haired boy coyly smiled at them, mischief twinkling in his eyes as he talked. "What a shame... I don't know who'd ever disrespect the Number Three Pro Hero like that." Shaking his head in mock sadness.
Kaminari scrunched his face up in confusion. "Number Three? Endeavor's Number One though-" His correction was interrupted by Todoroki, who seemed to be wearing a matching coy smile. "All might will forever be Number One for me, and I personally believe that Hawks is more than deserving of his Number Two title."
At this, Sero collapsed out of his seat in laughter, his surrounding classmates following suit. By the time Endeavor was back on stage the entire First Year Hero Class was rolling in bouts of laughter.
He glared at the students in an attempt to quiet them down, his flames flaring back to life exponentially.
"A-As I was saying-" Endeavor looked taken aback as he caught his own stutter. "Your quirk is your-" HONK! Endeavor flinched his spot at the sudden intrusion. "It's your most useful to-" HONK!
The flames surrounding Endeavor grew large with every interruption to his speech, charring the stage and podium. "STOP THIS AT ONCE!"
HOOOOOOONKKKKKKK!
Endeavor growled at the noise, stomping off the stage and directing a harsh glare at the student body. "I will NOT stand for this blatant disrespect."
For a few minutes after Endeavor had left, the auditorium was in complete silence, before a muffled laugh broke out. Soon enough the entire room was in shambles, doubled over and clutching their stomachs as they cried with laughter.
They hushed down once more as Nezu walked up onto the stage. "Now, students, that is not how we treat top hero's. We're lucky it was Endeavor and no one too important. Please follow your teachers back to your classes now."
--
Todoroki couldn't wipe the smile that took over his face as walked down the corridor with his class. The assembly had been a success, his father barely got a word in. His happiness was short-lived as the cause of all his problems stood in front of his classroom door with growing flames that charred the wood.
The older hero tried to converse with his son. "Son, It's good to see you."
"I wish I could say the same."
Endeavor spluttered at Todoroki's admission, eyes furrowing and he opened his mouth to speak, before spotting Midoriya. "Shouto, I want you to crush All Might's protege."
Todoroki blinked. "You want me to crush on All Might's protege? Okay." Midoriya burst into a flush of red that crawled down his neck, his words falling silent as Todoroki grabbed him by the shirt and kissed him square on the lips.
He pulled away to a blushing Midoriya, snickers and wolf-whistles falling from their classmates tongues.
"Midoriya, I have a crush on you."
And then he turned to his father with the most deadpanned expression he could muster. "There, done."
