    Lan Zhan gets a few minutes of silence, which are companionable and warm despite the voice’s bemused indigence, before a slick-trickle sensation slips down his back. He straightens in alarm, but the presence in his head does...something that conveys the soothing sensation of rubbing his back in comfort. A flowing shadow edges along the edge of his vision.

    This time, the voice doesn’t come from his head.
