Day 12: Didn't Know They Were Dating…

Destiel fic

If Mom Says So...

Mary Winchester was back from dead. And there were a lot of things she couldn't understand: computers, new televisions… cell phones… and why Dean and Castiel looked at each other so longingly almost the whole day.

"I didn't know they were dating." Mary whispered confidentially to Sam. She caught him by surprise, but immediately the younger Winchester huffed amused.

"Yeah, mom, they're dating." Sam lied as he stared at the angel and Dean, sitting at the kitchen table.

"Oh, they're so shy. Maybe my presence makes them feel embarrassed…" Mary observed, narrowing her eyes.

Sam smirked, "Yeah, maybe… maybe you should tell them that everything is okay. Right?" Sam turned around to put his hands on his mother's shoulder, encouraging her to do as he said.

Mary nodded, and stepped inside the kitchen, followed by Sam.

"Good morning mom, do you want some coffee?" Dean offered her pointing at the jar, "Cas makes great coffee."

Mary smiled at him and then she flicked her eyes to Castiel, "That's so good. You look so cute together." She cocked her head proudly.

Dean flinched, "What… What do you mean by that?"

Castiel tilted his head and drifted his eyes to Dean. The hunter was blushing furiously.

"Oh, You don't need to contain yourselves… Sam told me. You are dating, so…" Mary sat in front of them.

Dean dropped his jaw and Castiel blinked. Sam appeared from nowhere, or maybe he had always been there. The only thing that Dean noticed when he was able to close his own mouth was the little shit if his brother was smirking.

Then Castiel held Dean's hand on the table all of the sudden. Dean frozen.

"Yes, I am dating your son." The angel uttered stoically.

Dean turned his face to him with eyes wide open, "Cas, what the hell are you…?"

But Castiel wrapped his arm around Dean's back and stared at him with such a tenderless, Dean wasn't able to react. The hunter flushed even more and got lost inside those blue eyes.

"We were holding back this feeling for too many years." Castiel said and smiled fondly because Dean was staring at him with sparkles in the eyes.

"That's so beautiful… I'm so happy for you two." Mary grinned at them but then she realized both men were like in another world. Their own world, mostly. Mary side-eyed Sam baffled, and Sam just shrugged as he waved his hand inviting Mary to maybe have breakfast in the library. Mary followed him in silence.

"Why did you say that, Cas?" Dean finally spoke, still staring at him with red cheeks.

"I just saw a chance and I took it." Castiel replied, "It was obvious Sam wanted to make us a joke."

Dean blinked. He dropped his eyes to Castiel's lips and without any preamble, he kissed him clumsily on the lips. The angel was startled. Dean chuckled, enjoying Cas' innocent reaction, "I guess I saw a chance too and I took it."

Castiel smiled sheepishly and cupping Dean's cheeks he kissed him again.

Maybe they should say thank you to Sam later...
