Work Text:

Groaning, the man slung his backpack over his shoulders and headed out of the fast-food location. It had started to fill up with more people than he was comfortable with and he would much rather go back outside to the streets he called home.

(Y/n) had been homeless for a short while. A few things had gotten out of hand and his landlord had kicked him out almost two months ago. It was shitty, yes, but he could handle it well enough. He managed to scrape by on left overs from generous pedestrians and spare cash from pitying tourists.

Stomach growling, he was gently pushed out of his train of thought. He continued making his way down the street when an unfamiliar scent wafted through the air. Coughing for a second, he looked up to see green smoke drifting out of the nearest alleyway.

"That's… weird." He mumbled, stopping for a moment. He watched as the smoke drifted through the air, almost glowing as it hit the afternoon sky. He cleared his throat, making his way into the ally to see the cause of the strange smoke.

Another man was propped up against the brick wall, his foot resting on it as he dragged out a breath of green smoke. His cigarette was full of life, while he seemed rather dead. Eye bags, muted green hair, and an outfit that looked rather worn out. He sighed, smiling slightly at the newcomer.

"Hey man," the stranger smiled, lifting the cigarette to his mouth before taking another breath, "smoke catch your attention?" He smirked as the smoke crawled out of his mouth.

"Yeah, actually." (Y/n) stated, watching the cigarette carefully. He had never picked up smoking as a habit, it was always too expensive for him to delve into. But now, seeing the stranger take in a deep breath..

Yeah, it still didn't seem too appetizing.

"Name's Garcello, you?" (Y/n) raised an eyebrow, looking back at Garcello's face.

"(Y/n)." He kept his ground watching Garcello carefully.

"You wanna hit?" Garcello gestured to the cigarette in his hand.

"I think… I'll pass." (Y/n) decided, watching Garcello force in a deep breath.

"You sure, buddy?" He smiled, "I know the scents kind of off putting, but it's not all terrible. Calms the nerves, ya know?" Garcello cleared his throat, before taking another breath of the smoke.

(Y/n) took in a deep breath, looking at the ground for a moment. He was pretty stressed, he barely got any sleep due to the whole not having a home situation. He sighed looking up at Garcello.
"Eh, I've got nothing better to do."

The two were now sat down in the alley, both sitting across from each other. Garcello threw his cigarette to the side, stepping on it with his foot to firmly put it out.

(Y/n) squinted at the waste before Garcello explained himself.

"There's plenty more where that came from. Besides, it was dying anyway." (Y/n) nodded in fake understanding as Garcello pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and a dull green lighter. "I'm assuming this is your first time?" Garcello smiled, taking out a single cigarette before putting the box back into his coat pocket.

"Yeah, is that a problem?" (Y/n) watched as Garcello chuckled light heartedly to himself.

"Not at all, just means I gotta show you the ropes." Garcello pushed himself up, before taking a seat directly next to (Y/n).

"Why do you only have one out?" (Y/n) questioned, pointing to the cigarette in Garcello's hand.

"The first ones are always the hardest to force down. I doubt you'd be able to finish it." (Y/n) scoffed lightly, earning a chuckle from Garcello. "Nothing against you man, that's just how it is."

(Y/n) rolled his eyes, "Whatever dude."

"You know how to light it?" Garcello held out the cigarette and lighter to (Y/n), who took it confidently.

"Pfft, of course I know how to light a cigarette. I'm not stupid."

He was, in fact, stupid.

He turned on the lighter, about to light the brown tip of the cigarette before Garcello stifled a laugh.
"Other way," he snickered. (Y/n)'s breath caught in his throat, quickly turning the cigarette around in his fingers.

"Yeah, I knew that. I was just messing with you."

"Mhm," Garcello agreed, watching (Y/n) light the proper end of the cigarette.

(Y/n) awkwardly held the cigarette in his hand, offering the lighter back to Garcello who set it back in his pocket.

"Okay, now what you wanna do is hold it comfortably."

"How the fuck am I supposed to do that?" (Y/n) looked over to Garcello who smiled teasingly as he wrapped his arm around the other man's shoulders.

"Like this," Garcello held his hand out almost like a peace sign near (Y/n)'s hand. (Y/n) repositioned his hand, trying to hide the heat now resting in his cheeks from the embarrassment of having Garcello seated so close. "Now you just smoke it."

"Like, just, inhale it?" (Y/n) stared at the cigarette while Garcello nodded, resting his arm more comfortably on the other man's shoulders.

"Yeah, pretty much."

(Y/n) took in a deep breath, before putting the cigarette up to his lips and inhaling slowly.

He immediately coughed and took the cigarette away from his lips, sputtering slightly.

"S-sorry." He sighed between coughs, although Garcello didn't seem phased in the slightest.

"Happens to the best of us, no worries man." He gently took the cigarette out of (Y/n)'s hand, before taking in a deep breath himself.

"Ya know," he breathed out, "we could totally just shotgun it."

(Y/n) huffed out a small breath as he looked towards Garcello.

"We could what it?"

"Shotgun." Garcello looked at (Y/n), now the slightest hint of blush on his face. "Well, if you were down for it. Which I could totally understand if you weren't." Garcello quickly looked away, tapping the end of the cigarette anxiously.

"Well, that depends on what it is." (Y/n) said, now more curious than before.

"Well," Garcello sucked in a breath, attempting to find the words to describe himself, "it's kinda like, I take a smoke, and I sort of blow it into your mouth.. that's sounds super gross I'm sorry," Garcello quickly laughed it off, shifting slightly where he sat.

"I mean.." (Y/n) looked at the ground for a moment, collecting his thoughts as his face grew even more red with embarrassment, "that doesn't sound like, the worst thing in the world." Garcello smirked as he looked back at (Y/n).

"Alright," Garcello took his arm off of (Y/n)'s shoulders, placing his hand on the man's cheek and bottom of his jaw. Garcello kept (Y/n) in that position while he took a drag from his cigarette, before slowly leaning towards him and kissing him softly, slowly exhaling.

It wasn't nearly as strong this time, besides, (Y/n) was way more focused on the contact then the taste of the cigarette now.

Even after Garcello had finished his breath, they both stayed there, not wanting to split apart.
Soon, (Y/n) slowly eased away, sucking in a breath as he attempted to calm his heart down.

"You're pretty damn good at this," Garcello smirked, leaning in for another kiss. (Y/n) quickly closed off the space between the two and hummed happily into the motion.

They continued this, (Y/n) slowly becoming more relaxed as the second-hand smoke got into his system. His shaking, flustered breaths now had a tint of green to them, matching Garcello's.

Garcello kissed (Y/n) deeply, resting his hand on the other man's neck now. (Y/n) melted into the touch, content with staying this way forever.

When they eventually broke for air, Garcello looked at the cigarette, which was now burned to the brown end. He looked at (Y/n) and gestured to it.

"You wanna do the honors?" Garcello smiled softly as (Y/n) chuckled, watching Garcello toss the cigarette towards his feet before he stepped on it. He twisted his foot slightly, before putting it back into its resting position.

"I'm tired.." (Y/n) mumbled, resting his head on Garcello's shoulder. Garcello nodded, rubbing (Y/n)'s arm soothingly.

"Yeah, they tend to do that."

"I wanna go to bed." (Y/n) mumbled. Garcello hummed in agreement, positioning the both of them more comfortably. Now (Y/n) laid in-between Garcello's legs and rested his back onto Garcello's chest. (Y/n) sighed in content, following Garcello's slightly unsteady breathing.

"Night night.." (Y/n) yawned, fully relaxed.

"Night.." Garcello hummed, resting his head on (Y/n)'s shoulder.
