Tapu Koko was a bastard too, Ash decided. It didn’t matter if the God hadn’t done anything that day, let alone the week and a half after the battle, because he was a slimy rotisserie chicken bastard and Ash was probably going to live by that now.
He purposely ignored the twitch of the world aura around him, a sign that the majority of the Legendaries were amused by something Ash thought or did, and stuck the crystal in the slot of the Z-Ring that Kukui had coaxed him into wearing for the night. It fit perfectly and glimmered in the light.
Bastards. The pair of them are complete bastards.

He took Ash’s hand and pulled him to his feet, reaching his other arm out for Pikachu to run up, before taking off, half dragging the boy along. They ran for another ten minutes before coming across a cave. Inside were a few Zubat and an Eevee, but they didn’t seem to mind the three’s presence.
Ash sat on the ground and Pikachu immediately curled up in his lap, letting Ash run his hands along his fur. He stopped quickly as he saw red flakes coming off his hands and rubbing into Pikachu’s coat that the mouse worked so hard to keep clean. He shoved his hands under his thighs, trying not to stain anything else with Lysandre’s blood.

Or: Set in before the events of Animated, Optimus isn’t having a good time. One of his trine members hates his guts, and he killed the other. Or, at least, that’s what the first trine member says.
He does his work with ease like a perfect Autobot, but he finds himself with more free time. More free time means more thinking. More thinking means more thinking about Elit— no, no.
Guilt eats at Optimus, and soon, he can’t take it anymore.
Optimus decides to try to drink his feelings away, and was on course to, until a certain gunmetal gray mech stopped his plans with a deep voice and large servos.
Shit, it’s Megatron.
