   Summary

   She couldn't do it she couldn't kill him and that 'want'- to keep him alive had made Alina weak, just as the Darkling had told her it would. Alina had lost but would the Darkling spare her, had she spared Mal only to see him die at The Darkling's hand? Alternative ending to trilogy where Alina's is unable to take Mal's life.
