Hoseok had the perfect plan for a Christmas present for Y/n. He had been thinking about it for months now and searching for the perfect one the entire time they were wrapping up their world tour. Y/n was the love of his life, and he counted himself as blessed that she put up with his chaotic life. 85% of his time was spent either in the studio dancing, practicing and composing for ARMY or anywhere else in the world except in the same place as Y/n. He knew that she would never admit if she felt lonely when he was gone because she wouldn’t want him to worry or be insecure in their relationship. The more he considered it, the more he thought it would be a good idea to get her something to keep her company. He talked his idea over with Yoongi, who had suggested getting her a giant plushie of some variety, but Hoseok didn’t feel right about that.
About a week after talking with Yoongi about his potential idea, he had lunch with Taehyung and Jin. He was hoping that they would be more helpful as they were both pet owners. In discussing it more with them, he decided that his first instinct was the best option. Now all he had to do was find the perfect one.
A few months passed and it was a week before Christmas. He got some of his brothers in on the surprise, so on Monday of the week he had Jungkook call her.
“Noona, I’m trying to convince my hyungs that we should have a special dinner on Christmas Eve, and they aren’t cooperating. What do you think about it?”
Y/n was never able to tell Jungkook no, so she agreed and volunteered the flat she shared with Hoseok for the location of dinner. Once it was decided, she and Jin got together and began planning the menu for the evening.
“Do you think having some Christmas cookies would be enough of a dessert or should we make something special, Jinnie-oppa?”
“Hmm…I know the maknaes love cookies, but Yoongi-chi and Seokie have more sophisticated tastes in desserts,” Jin replied thoughtfully.
“What do you think about tiramisu? I have a recipe somewhere.”
The day of the party was busy for everyone involved. Jin went over to their apartment to help Y/n cook everything for the dinner that night. While they were making all the delectable dishes and desserts for the party, Hoseok was picking up the gift. It was something that couldn’t be picked up until the day of because there was no way that Hoseok could keep a puppy a secret from the love of his life. All of the others had bought all kinds of accessories for the puppy. Hoseok picked up a beautiful Westie puppy just before the party was scheduled to start and tied a dark green bow around his neck. The puppy fell asleep in Jimin’s lap on the way over and Hoseok melted a little. The plan was to sneak the puppy in and place him into the puppy bed that Jimin had bought under the tree, then call Y/n out of the kitchen. Since the puppy was sleeping, it would be much easier to do.
The guys carried all the gifts into the apartment and Hoseok sneakily arranged the sleeping puppy under the tree and covered it up with a blanket. Jungkook and Jimin placed the wrapped gifts in front of the sleeping puppy.
“Baby, we’re here!” Hoseok called excitedly into the kitchen. He slipped in behind her where she was arranging the Christmas cookies on a tray and wrapped his arms around her waist. He kissed her on the cheek and smiled as she giggled. “I know it’s not time to open presents yet, but I need you to open mine now. Can you stop with cooking for a few minutes?”
“It’s okay, Y/n. I’ve got it all under control in here,” Jin smiled at her and shooed her out of the kitchen.
Hoseok was so excited he was literally bouncing as he led her toward the tree. Just before she reached the tree, soft woof echoed from under the tree.
“Hobi? Did one of those presents just bark?” she asked with wide eyes.
Hoseok giggled. “Why don’t you go find out?”
Y/n slowly approached the line of beautifully wrapped gifts, and before she got to them, the puppy popped it’s head out from under the blanket and barked softly again. Y/n sat down just in time for the puppy to jumped over the presents and climb into her lap. He immediately snuggled into her arms like he belonged there.
“I just don’t want you to be lonely here while I’m away, so I got you a friend.”
Y/n looked up at him with tears in her eyes. She loved the puppy, but the reason behind it touched her even more. She stood with the puppy in her arms and pulled Hoseok into a soft kiss.
“He’s so cute, Hobi. You adopted us a son.”
