Summary
Someone was in his room.
He didn’t move an inch, his breathing didn’t stutter, and his eyes didn’t open. He’d seen the news of the Tartarus jail break—he knew who was there to see him.
His mattress dipped as someone sat down on his bed behind him. A voice reached his ears, sweet and familiar, but with venom curling at the edges. “Hawks,” she said, because of course she knew he was awake.
He would justify it as some combination of having woken up only seconds prior (even though he was trained to wake up fully at the drop of a hat) and that part of him he thought buried that missed her, but the first word he said to her in years was, “Nagant-senpai.”
