Warmth

Summary:

Its a stormy night, and a frog and bear thought camping was a good idea? Good grief

Work Text:

Warmth, he needed warmth.

Frogs are cold-blooded creatures, and they rely on some sort of heat source when the weather gets cold, if not they simply freeze. Now it wasn't near-freezing temperatures, not at all. But it was a summer night and Kermit was in a tent. The thunder was rattling the ground beneath him and the rain viciously attacked the exterior of the tent. With all this noise, Kermit couldn't sleep. However some people were able to sleep in this, Kermit looked towards his best friend Fozzie. Such a big fluffy warm bear, Kermit was almost jealous.

Warmth, that's right, with all this rain, the cool air was slowly making its way in the tent, Kermit had only his small sleeping bag to keep him warm, when he had packed for this little trip, he'd been relying on the weather forecast, which had not once mentioned rain. Kermit is shivering now, he looks at Fozzie again, and slowly scoots closer to the bear. He was a few inches away from the fuzzy heat source now, He wasn't trying to be loud doing this, though he wasn't too worried, since the bear looked completely knocked out.

Kermit was about to scoot one more inch closer but froze when he heard the bear's voice "Sure is pouring huh" Fozzie turns to look at Kermit who was still frozen in place, Kermit gives a shy nod. Fozzie thinks nothing of Kermit's closeness, and starts to talk, "say, Kermit, don't you have cold blood?" Kermit gives a slight chuckle "cold-blooded yes." Fozzie looks at the ceiling of the tent, staring, almost as if in deep concentration. "Are you cold?" Kermit is hesitant to reply but nods "well uh, yes, yes I am pretty cold.." The bear then turns and finally takes notice of Kermit's position by him "do you want a bear hug?" Kermit gives Fozzie a blank stare "they're preeeeetty waaaaarrm" Fozzie says trying to convince the little frog. Kermit smiles, "uh sure Fozzie, I guess that'd be nice right about now.." Fozzie smiles at the frog and pulls Kermit close, merging their sleeping bags together and sharing his warmth. "feeling a bit warmer now?" Kermit smiles up at the bear and nods;

Fozzie continues to hug the frog, 1 minute later Kermit speaks up "uh Fozzie?. Don't you think this is a little bit long for a hug?" "Well Kermit, if I let go of you, you'll just go back to being cold. Don't ya think it's better if I hold on to you until the rain lets up?" Fozzie was quite happy hugging Kermit, Fozzie being a cuddly guy himself wanted nothing more than an excuse to hold the frog for a little bit longer. Kermit smiles into the bear's fluffy neck, "I suppose that makes sense"

So the bear and the frog continued to cuddle each other. It was only until the rain let upright?
