It doesn't matter. Taehyung is here and he has to get over this. He's already started skipping birthdays. What more could he do to avoid him?
He wraps his arms around Hoseok torso and sniffs in sunshine and flowers. He's going to miss his hyung.
"Help yourself to drinks, baby." Hoseok urges.
Taehyung scrunches his nose, "You know I don't drink alcohol, hyung."
"I got you strawberry quik!"
"Strawberries bleh!"
Hoseok sticks his tongue out. Taehyung narrows his eyes to defend himself but--
"You can take my banana milk."
Taehyung freezes. He hadn't heard that voice in ages, hearing it now was expected. He still clenches his fist.
We'll be together forever, Taehyungie hyung.
So handsome, grown up. Does his nose still scrunch up adorably? It should. It's precious, just like him.
"Thanks, Jungkook-ah." He nods. The stupid heart still thrums lowly. Taehyung's lips press in a line.
Jungkook bows, "Anytime, hyung." And marches away to talk to Namjoon.
Behind him, Hoseok clicks his tongue. "It's been 2 years, Taehyeongie. He makes an attempt to talk. Maybe you could try too."
Taehyung shakes his head, "We don't do that anymore, hyung."
