Work Text:
Diego loved the thrill of hunting with his pod. But it had tipped from exciting to serious, when they got into a tussle with the hungry narwhals over a school of cod.
He, Luther and Ben had dodged their long horns and swiping tails, laughing with delight, as they snatched at cod to try and catch their dinner.
It was Luther’s pained cry, that alerted Diego that the fun was over, leaving the fray with his catch in hand.
Then, it was the red water.
Then finally Ben’s pale, resigned face, as he clutched the gaping hole in his gut.
