“Hey Dad.”
“Hi Kokoro.”
“How…how are you doing?”
“All right. Things are speeding up with the cold but otherwise nothing to complain about. You doing okay?”
“Yeah. My manager’s pushing for a bit more publicity on my relationship but Undine and I are trying to keep things a bit on the down low for now.”
“Oh, I heard about you two. She was on Team Alchemical right?”
“Yeah.”
“…She doing okay?”
“I think she’s doing better now. Things were…I mean, things have been rough but I think she’s in a good place.”
“That’s good. Say hello for me.”
“Will do.”
“…”
“So, uh, how’s grandma and grandpa?”
“Still doing their best, all things considered.”
“That’s good.”

“…”
“Um, are we still on for New Years?”
“Oh, yeah. That’s part of why I was calling. Do you and Grandma and Grandpa mind if I invite Undine?”
“Let me ask them.”
Kokoro could hear shuffling in the background, and a distant yelling: “Ma! Pa! Koko wants to invite her girlfriend to New Years!” Some muffled yelling the background, then her father came back on the line. “Yeah, should be okay. Does she like turkey?”
“Yeah, she loves it.”
“Great!”
“You been to see Mom yet?”
“…No. Not yet.”
“Me neither. Was gonna get her something.”
“…”
“You wanna come?”
“When were you thinking of going?”
“I didn’t have a plan yet, but I wanted to wish her a jolly Crimmus too, so maybe eve of, do it all at once? My manager has me planned for an appearance but we can go after?”
“…Yeah, okay.”
“I’ll call you?”
“Yeah. And, um, Kokoro?”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks, kid. Jolly Crimmus.”
“You too, Dad.”
