1.
It was a considerably calm start to the day when Catherine decided to video call her goddaughter and talk to her about the recent book she'd read. It had kept her up for most of the night, and she wanted to tell the sixth queen all about it in the morning. She was halfway through gushing about the narrative's attentiveness when her room was invaded by a certain green-clad queen, dark hair dripping with water from her recent shower. Unfortunately, through her own thumbnail, Catherine didn't need to turn around to see that her friend was lacking something.
"Boleyn, why the bloody hell aren't you wearing pants?"
Anne turned to her, looking like it was the most normal thing in the world to be half-naked in front of someone else's video call.
"I overestimated the amount of pants I had left." She said easily.
"You couldn't just put on a skirt?"
"Overestimated the amount of those too. Also Cathy borrowed some of mine. I can't get them back now, can I?" Anne argued, gesturing to Catherine's laptop where Cathy had a hand over her mouth, stifling a giggle.
"Alright, but why walk into my room looking like that?" Catherine was annoyed. She held one thumb over the camera to shield Anne's unfortunate appearance from her goddaughter.
"Obviously, I need pants." Anne said, equally as indignantly. She rolled her eyes. "Besides, we've all seen each other in our underwear before."
"It's impolite to-" Catherine sucked in a breath and held her free hand up in surrender. "Why do I try with you?"
"You love me." Anne grinned. "Now please can I borrow pants and a belt before Jane goes ballistic with me walking around the house like this?"
"Do your laundry."
"But Catherine!"
"No. Suffer."

"So I was thinking, for Jane's birthday; perhaps we could-"
Crunch.
"-...bake a cake and find a reliable enough way to mail it over in the same-"
Crunch. Crunch.
"-...day. And the container will have to be sturdy and steady, with something put inside to make sure it doesn't slide off to one side of the box or-"
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
"-...fall over." Cathy pinched the bridge of her nose. She glanced over to the seat beside her where Katherine was sitting munching on chips. "Why."
Kit shrugged, putting another piece into her mouth innocently.
"I'm just making sure Jane doesn't overhear us." Anne said reasonably, stuffing her face now that Cathy had apparently stopped talking.
"Jane is out. I'm not even in the same house with you guys and I know that!"
3.
"Hey, Anna." Cathy said, popping her head in from the already open door in an all-too-affective attempt to get the fourth queen's attention. "Would chicken and ice cream for dinner be swell?"
"If you mean they are not one dish then yes." Anna responded, looking up from her laptop screen from where she was on a video call with Jane.
"Oh no it's separate!" Cathy had a hand over her heart, as if shocked Anna would suggest such an uncouth thing. "Kit wanted ice cream and I wanted a cold dessert. It's been quite warm all day."
When Cathy left, Anna was faced with a rather amused Jane.
"Shouldn't you close the door during our call?"
"No, those two are very quiet." Anna said, flipping through her notebook as she went over the lyrics she and Jane were working on together. "Besides, I like to make sure they're still alive, from the limited amount of sound they make."
Then there was a very loud flush by either Kit or Cathy. Probably Kit.
"Ah." Jane said, nodding her satisfaction.
"Those two ninnies never know to not open the toilet door untilafter flushing."
4.
Kit giggled, her thumbnail of a literal cat with human eyes and lips.
When she spoke, the cat's very-human lips moved. It didn't take long for the call to become just the youngest queen saying the most unusual things just to see her lips move in the oddest motions and form hilariously exaggerated shapes. It gave Catherine an unsettling feeling to see a humanoid feline. It reminded her of the one horrifying anthropomorphic cats movie Anne made her see.
"Kitty..." Catherine sighed. "Let's get back on track, shall we? Besides, this is extremely strange to witness..."
The teen laughed, switching her screen back to something more normal. At first glance, anyway. It took Catherine half a minute to fully register the realistic beach backdrop Kit had behind her.
"Are you going to take this call seriously?"
"Oh come on! Here, try it, then you'll see how fun it is." Kit said cheerfully, undeterred by the elder queen's glare. She proceeded to give instructions to Catherine, showing her the many options she could use to change her screen into fun interactive graphics.
"Wow." Catherine said, all irritation gone as she puckered her lips, making the potato on her screen pucker its lips as well. She blew some kisses to Kit, causing the other girl to break out into a fit of joyous laughter. They spent some time making ridiculous faces at each other for a good while, forgetting their original agenda.
"Now, Kitty..." Catherine said slowly, her potato-lips morphing into a frown. "How do I un-potato myself?"
Kit grinned. "That's for me to know and for you to figure out."
After much meddling, Catherine couldn't figure it out. They spent the rest of the call with Catherine's thumbnail appearing as a potato with glossy lips and azure eyes laid thick with mascara.
5.
"Hold on, Kitty." Jane was saying as she placed herself on mute. Kit frowned, tilting her head a little to signify her confusion.
They spent about a good five minutes staring into each other, with Jane nodding and shaking her head here and there when Kit shot some questions her way. After a while, Jane lifted her head to look at something behind her laptop screen. Seeming content with what she saw, Jane unmuted.
"I apologize, there was some rather colorful vocabulary going on in the background." Jane explained, expression calm.
Then, Anne appeared into view, storming past Jane and turning around at the sound of her name being called. She seemed to be reacting to someone off-screen.
Catherine's voice boomed through Kit's headphones.
"ANNE YOU LITTLE B-"
Kit didn't get to hear the rest of it as Jane's hand automatically went to click the mute button again. She'll reconsider video calling in the living room next time.
+1
"Are we on?" Catherine's voice sounded through the audio. As she spoke, Jane's video appeared and she waved excitedly at everyone, despite not being able to see them.
Cathy adjusted her headset, glancing at the list of usernames joined into the call. Five out of six. One person has still yet to join. "I'm in. Anne isn't though."
As if on cue, all five queens heard a ping as someone joined their call. "Here now!"
"Speak of the devil." The first queen said, turning on her camera and revealing a smirk. Anne did the same, beaming into her camera with a half-eaten piece of toast in her hand.
"Thank you." The second queen chirped.
"Ok what were we planning to do?" Came Anna's voice. After speaking, her side of the video was turned on as well, followed by Kit.
"Sing, we're going to sing. Jane's in charge of screen recording." Catherine answered, squinting into her monitor.
"Would that work? Wouldn't some of our audios or videos get delayed and ruin the entire thing?" Cathy was saying. Then, "How do I... oh here we go." Her video appeared onscreen.
"With high speed internet, it won't." Kit said.
"Our internet isn't 'high speed', but I'll take my chances." Anne had to add.
"Just don't open any tabs." Catherine told her, voice slightly stern.
"What are we going to sing?" Anna asked.
"I don't know, what's on trend?" Jane pulled up her phone and started typing. "Some of us might not be familiar with some of the songs, though - Oh! Catherine's been into Barbie movies lately. Maybe we could-"
"No." Catherine interrupted, looking a little red at the indication.
"Ohhhh-" Anne began, only to startle at the sound of someone entering her room and toppling her right off her seat. For a few seconds, she was disconnected from the call. When Anne reconnected, there was red lipstick around her eyes and she had some strawberry jam smudged to one cheek, looking like she either had her toast slammed into her face or she had fallen onto it.
"We're not singing Barbie songs." She said, rather robotically.
"What happened?" Cathy asked in surprise. Jane giggled in response.
"I saw gold-" Anna was saying, only to receive a glare from one particular queen. She immediately stopped talking.
"Can I take a quick bathroom break?" Anne requested, drawing five pairs of eyes to her thumbnail. The sight of her with drawn-on glasses was rather comical it erupted a fit of giggles from the youngest queen.
Jane opened her mouth to respond, but Catherine beat her to it. "No."
"Understood. Proceed."
"Alright, so...-" Kit cleared her throat, "-a song?"
