Chapter Text
BEEP BEEP…BEEP BEEP
Kiyoomi turned around to face his alarm clock. 6:30am. He groaned, shifting his head to face the left side of his bed. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, wanting to go to the bathroom before something caught his eye. It reflected the sunlight coming from the gap in between the curtain and the window. It was glimmering in the sunlight, Kiyoomi sighed while staring at it.
It was a bracelet, the same one his mother gave him 7 years ago.
She told him to always wear it and that there was someone else who had the same exact bracelet. He remembers his mother telling him to never stop looking for that person and that the other bracelet would have Kiyoomi’s initials, S.K, on it. On Kiyoomi’s bracelet, it had the initials M.A engraved onto it.
His mother had told him that he was really close to that mystery person, when they were young. She said that it was difficult to even get them to part ways when it was time for bed. He would always be playing with that person, after school and while waiting for their parents to get back from work. But one day, Kiyoomi had to leave.
Kiyoomi was never close to finding such a person. Kiyoomi found it quite intriguing, considering how he hasn't thrown of away yet. Why you may ask? Firstly, Kiyoomi didn’t know anyone with the initials M.A. Secondly, he doesn't even remember what this person looks like. It would be impossible to find someone and he doesn't even know if it'd be worth it. He was starting to wonder if he'd ever find that person.
His mother had told him that when he found that person, he wouldn't be lonely anymore but he was starting to think that his mother had just made it up. That she just wanted Kiyoomi to hope that he could find someone who would accept him for who he was, especially with his germaphobia. Bringing his wrists to cover his eyes, he sighed.
Kiyoomi really wanted to find this person, he wanted to feel happy, to feel loved. He was never close to his classmates in school and he's also not close to anyone in his workplace, just the casual greetings and if they needed to do projects together, they wouldn’t get too close. The only people he’s quite comfortable with are his family and of course his cousin, Komori. Kiyoomi was really close to giving up in this fruitless search. He was so tired from everything and to make it worse, he didn’t have anyone to talk to or rant to. He took a deep breath and made his way into the bathroom to shower.
But at this point, he was getting impatient. He spent so long looking for someone that has never shown a single sign of existence. Kiyoomi wanted to just throw away the bracelet, forgetting everything he was ever told about it. He tried to, he really did but he couldn't find it in him to just let it go.
Kiyoomi quickly changed, he wore a dark blue suit and made his way to his car. It was a 30 minute drive from his house to the office. By the time he had reached, it was 8:15. He quickly parked the car and went to his desk. He sat down and looked at his schedule for the day.
Meeting at 11, I have to check Mr Sato’s project later as well...oh...dinner with the department at 6.
Kiyoomi sighed, all he wanted to do after work was to just go straight home and sleep. He told himself he’d eat quickly and leave first. He then opened the document showing the sales data. The company was famous for their modern looking and comfortable clothes. Stylish and flexible designs rose them to fame as well.
So far, the company was doing really well and had opened up multiple franchises in different areas of Japan and in some other countries as well.
“Good morning Mr Sakusa!”
Mrs Suzuki exclaimed as she entered the office. Kiyoomi just nodded in return and got up to make his morning coffee. In the design department, there were only 10 people and all of them were doing well in their work, which made Kiyoomi’s life easier. He took a sip of his coffee and began doing his work.
__________
5:50pm. Kiyoomi finished writing his proposal and closed his laptop. He then exited his room, waiting for his coworkers to finish up.
Mrs Suzuki had actually ordered some food from a restaurant and planned to eat in the meeting room together. However, she didn’t get any drinks and forced Kiyoomi to go get some.
He had to get 8 smoothies for everyone, including himself.
Kiyoomi was really not fond of the idea.
Obliging, he went down and spotted a cafe that was quite small called, “Onigiri Miya.” There were not many people so he thought it was the perfect place to go. He entered and went straight to the counter to order the drinks. Kiyoomi waited for about 5 minutes because who the hell orders 8 smoothies in one go.
“Here are your smoothies sir.”
Kiyoomi turned and took the drinks from the waiter, a guy with mustard coloured hair.
Oh they’re twins?
Kiyoomi thanked him and made his way to the door. Trying to use his arm to push the door open and balancing all the drinks at the same time, his attempt didn't go as planned. Before he knew it, his shoe got caught while walking, causing him to trip and drop a drink on the floor.
The same waiter from before went over to help him clean the mess Kiyoomi had made. A cloth in hand and some cleaning supplies.
“Ah...I’m so sorry.”
“Nono...it’s fine.”
As they both bent down to clean the mess, their eyes met. Kiyoomi couldn’t describe what he was feeling, it was like that waiter was staring straight through his soul. He felt a cold chill down his spine and he gulped. Kiyoomi swore he felt the waiter glare at him after locking eyes.
As he picked up the cup and cleaned the floor, Kiyoomi noticed a familiar looking bracelet on the waiter’s wrist. Kiyoomi took a closer look and his eyes widened when he saw his own initials on the bracelet.
“That...that bracelet...where did yo-”
“Mr Sakusa! Are you okay? I should’ve followed you to get the drinks earlier. So sorry,” one of his coworkers, Mr Takashi, walked into the cafe and helped Kiyoomi carry some of the drinks. Kiyoomi was then dragged by Mr Takashi as they rushed to the meeting room to have their dinner. After dinner, Kiyoomi drove back to his house.
Kiyoomi didn’t get any sleep that night. He kept thinking about that waiter and that bracelet.
So...it wasn’t a lie? The person my mother talked about...actually exists? I have to meet him. Now that I think about it...he actually looks quite familiar. Have we met before?
He thought about all the possible scenarios that could happen. He wondered if his mother also gave him the bracelet and told him the same things. He didn’t know if he should just tell him about the bracelet or just get to know him first. Heck...he didn’t even know if that waiter was straight.
What if he is? Is it over for me then? I won’t have anyone to look for anymore. Damn it, what if he's really all I have?
__________
Kiyoomi’s routine was the same. Wake up at 6:30am, shower, change and go to the office. Except, Kiyoomi couldn’t get up from his bed, he was too tired from work and he didn’t get enough sleep. He then decided to just go in late because being a ceo has its benefits. He arrived at the office at exactly 10am. He apologised for being late and sat down at his desk. He sighed and quickly did his work, however, he couldn’t focus.
Should I go to the cafe later? Maybe during my break...or should i just go after work...no that might be late. Okay I’ll go during my break. He’ll be there right?
2:30pm. Kiyoomi stood up and went down to Onigiri Miya. As he was about to leave the building, he smelled something sweet coming from the washroom on the first floor. It was a strong sweet honey scent. As Kiyoomi walked closer to the washroom, the scent got stronger. He couldn’t stand the smell and covered his nose with his clean handkerchief. He entered and saw someone sitting in the corner of the room, his face buried in his hands.
“Excuse me...are you alright? Are you having your heat? Where’s your suppressants?”
No reply. Kiyoomi walked closer and the omega slowly looked up.
Wait...that’s him...the waiter. The one with the bracelet.
Kiyoomi felt his heart beat faster as he examined the omega’s face. His face was flushed and bright red. He was panting. He looked so wrecked that Kiyoomi felt something strange build up in him. The scent attracted Kiyoomi and he felt an urge to just fuck him there and then.
Why am I feeling this way? How can I think of doing it with someone I barely know. Get it together Kiyoomi. You have an image to maintain.
“It’s in my bag...there...near...near the sink.”
Kiyoomi turned and saw the bag. He quickly grabbed it and handed it over to the omega. Kiyoomi then felt his pants tighten and he quickly left the washroom. He went up to his office and locked the door. Kiyoomi looked down and saw that he was hard. He unzipped his pants and started jerking off as he pictured the omega’s flushed face.
Meanwhile, the omega, Atsumu, calmed down and noticed a black leather wallet on the floor. He opened it to see who it belonged to.
“Sakusa Kiyoomi…”
A memory flashed through his mind. It was in a meadow, there was a boy with curly black hair in front of him. He saw himself reaching out to try and grab the other boy’s hand as they ran. He heard himself say, “Omi-omi wait up!” Atsumu shook his head and got back to his senses.
What was that? Who’s Omi-omi? Is it..Kiyoomi? They have the same curly black hair? Wait it says here that he’s a ceo? Sakusa Kiyoomi...it's the same person who dropped that drink yesterday. I have to thank him...but why do I feel like I want to get away from him? He feels familiar but I don’t remember him. I'll just thank him the next time I see him.
Atsumu checked the time on his watch. 3pm. He stood up and rushed over to Onigiri Miya as he still had some deliveries to do.
__________
Kiyoomi wanted to die. He sat on his chair staring at a blank piece of paper. How could he do that while thinking of someone he barely knows. His pride was damaged. He felt so embarrassed.
How am I going to face him again? Oh my god...why? Why?! What’s wrong with me? Oh god I think I should just kill myself. How could I do that?
__________
The next day wasn't any better. Kiyoomi couldn’t get over what had happened. He felt ashamed and out of it all day.
As he left for his lunch break, he saw the same omega walking towards him. Kiyoomi’s eyes widened and he turned away, trying to avoid meeting him. He took out his phone and pretended to be busy.
“Excuse me...Mr Sakusa?”
That voice. Why was that voice so familiar to him? Kiyoomi was reluctant to turn around but he knew he couldn’t ignore him.
“Hi! I’m Atsumu. Um..you left this yesterday in the washroom. I also want to thank you for helping me...and I thought that maybe I could treat you to dinner later? To say thank you...but only if you’re okay with that.”
Kiyoomi took the wallet and weighed his options. He knew it was going to be awkward considering what he did yesterday but he knew that he couldn’t avoid him since they’re just one road across from one another. After some time, he nodded.
“Sure. We could grab dinner later. I end work at 9. I’ll meet you here then.”
Atsumu's lips curled into a soft smile, eyes shining.
“Okay...see you later boss!”
Kiyoomi took a deep breath, knowing he was going to regret this.
