    "So," Historia says as she plucks thin pieces of straw from her shawl. "Would you rather have boys or girls?"

    She glances up at him as they walk. Birdsong lifts in the wind as sparrows swoop overhead to find their nests in the trees. A cricket begins its song a bit early and Eren's lips purse a bit as he thinks it over. The breeze picks up and he shivers even though he's thrown his jacket back on. (Shame, that.)

    "It doesn't matter," he says at last. "I'd be happy just having them."

    Historia smirks, as she bumps her shoulder against his arm. "Oh come on, you don't have to be diplomatic. Everyone has a preference."

    Eren glances down at her and, again, all too serious he says, "I really don't have one. So long as they're good kids, I wouldn't really care."
