" ‘Help me,’ called Jamie from the front door.
Daniel was on his feet in a second and rushing from the room. Clive reached for his walking stick but stopped when Meg gestured for him and Sammy to stay where they were. She followed Daniel from the room. The shout from Jamie had not been fearful, more concerned. Clive could not imagine who was at the door that would cause the reaction from the Alpha.
