Maybe, It’s You

Summary:

Henelope endgame?.. Everything in here is purely fictional.

Notes:

Hi! There’s too little for a too good ship, therefore I decided to write one! The following “spells” written in here are basically fake, I am sorry. I do not watch the show itself, but I stumbled upon two powerful witches; so here I am. The spells are words I google translated from English to Latin, whichever sounds natural.

I'm sorry, everything that may relate to someone else's is purely coincidental.

Malivore, in this universe, can be summoned by the children of the demon, and Hope. Also, there are circumstances when a witch with enough magic can prohibit other people from forgetting the ones who were devoured / jumped to Malivore.

P.S I apologize for my English grammar for it’s not my mother tongue. Enjoy, and let’s spread awareness for Palestine!

Chapter Text

"Penelope!"

Penelope dramatically turns around from the stairs to meet the blazing eyes of Hope, she wore her signature smirk facing her.

"Mikaelson!"

Hope aggressively grabbed her arms making Penelope scoff at the action, she pulled her arms back crossing it to make sure she won't get pulled again.

Hope felt something weird upon the touch, something unusual.

"I'm sure you can keep your hands to yourself, Mikaelson. Unless.."

Penelope let her eyes travel down Hope's body making her even more frustrated as she lowly growls, making Penelope smile in victory.

"No time for your flirtatious remarks, I'm here cause of Josie."

"Are you? I thought you were here for something else." Penelope spoke in such a low, dangerous tone that send shivers down Hope's spine.

"I-I.. told you, I'm here cause of Josie."

She tried to keep her composure in front of the dark-haired witch looking directly at her eyes while still smirking. Hope doesn't feel comfortable at her gaze if it wasn't that obvious already — she's not comfortable getting attention.

"Right, here to save the day once again. What do you want, Mikaelson?"

Hope opened her mouth, but was cut off by Penelope, "Dont tell me you want to use my body, again, to forget your problems?"

"That was an accident!"

"Was it? I remember you moaning my n-"

"Stop!"

This time it wasn't the normal smirk, it was devilish. Hope rolled her eyes before huffing, she stepped one foot closer to Penelope. Hope expected her to stay there or back away, but she didn't — instead Penelope took a step making their bodies almost touch.

Hope backed away before clearing her throat, "The next time you make Josie cry—"

"She cried?"

Penelope's face was serious, her eyes darkened. It seems the rumors about her being an evil-dark witch was true after all. Or maybe not.

"Are you serious, Park?! You leave her once again, and you expect her to be what? Giddy and Joyful?"

Hope was annoyed, she was angered. Her eye color flickered between its natural ocean-blue to yellow. Penelope just shrugged at her, nodding.

"Well.. yeah?"

"How stupid can you get?!" Her voice roared as it echoes to the entire school lobby.

"The breakup was a year ago, Mikaelson."

Hope's eyes were now golden-yellow, Penelope raised her eyebrow at the act the tribid made. She decided to test Hope if her assumptions were correct.

"Besides, what's it to you, hmm?"  She dropped her hands down staring right at Hope. "You seem angrier than Josie herself, why? Do you like her?" Penelope took a step each word she utters, and Hope takes a step back.

"You don't know anything!"

"Maybe I do, Mikaelson. Her smile radiates a glow like the su-"

Penelope didn't know she was pushing Hope's buttons till she snapped. The tribid grabbed Penelopes collar, and combined with her vampire genetics; she threw Penelope to the nearest shelf with her strength.

Everyone gasped  as Penelope dropped down from the shelf, rendering unconscious. Blood all over her head, she must've hit a pointy wood. Even the tribrid herself was panicking, where did all of that strength come from?

"Hope?.... Penelope?!" Josie walked out because of the commotion, she immediately saw who was lying on the ground.

Hope began apologizing, she was trembling. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean-"

"Save it!" Josie angrily cuts her off, followed by Lizzie's statement.

"Wow! What did you do to Satan?"

Josie kept casting a spell that may possibly heal Penelope, but she wasn't strong enough. The love of her life is not responding, Hope could barely hear any heartbeat.

"What's going on here?!" Alaric came rushing forward with a woman who looked quite similar to Penelope.

"Ms. Park, I'm so sorry."

Alaric added, sounding so fearful. The woman only nodded before carrying the unconscious Penelope in her arms, she whispered a spell that removed and stopped all blood coming from her head.

She was a powerful witch.

The woman looked at Hope with blankly before walking over to her and whispered, "A tribrid.."

"I'm sorry, I-"

Hope apologized once again, before she could run off to release her pain, the woman raised her hand making Hope stop and groan in pain as she falls down to her knees.

"Feed her your blood, tribrid."

Hope only looked at her as she struggled to breathe  after the woman released the spell. She looked at everyone then they all scattered away from the scene, all except the twins and Hope. Lizzie was grabbing her sister so as to not get close to the woman dressed in black.

The woman made a cut on Hope's wrist and positioned it in front of her sister's mouth. However, she was baffled when it did not work.

"You are not strong enough, schande" The woman then healed Hope's wrist before carrying her sister and snapping her own fingers, disappearing.

"I'm sorry, Jo..."

"If she doesn't wake up, I will never forgive you." Josie said with so much venom, it hurts her. Truly.

Josie walked away from her to go back to their room, Lizzie approached and hugged Hope as tightly as she could.

"Don't worry, satan is stronger than we all think. Good job kicking her ass, by the way!" She joked making Hope chuckle and nod.

"Hope, come with me this instant...!" Alaric spoke still baffled by the situation.

The two of them walked back to Alaric's office, and when they reached he began lecturing Hope. But, she couldn't focus. Her mind wandered to Penelope, is she okay? Will she be fine, will she wake up?

"Hope! Are you even listening to me?"

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt her.."

"Yet you did! Do you know that woman? She's Penelope's older sister, and when I tell you shes dangerous, she's dangerous."

Alaric fell back to his seat as he massages his temples, Hope took a deep breath before realization hit her. The girl Josie talked about when the Park family topic came up, the sister witch from Belgium.

"Her coven.. her entire family will be after you, me, and everyone else in here."

"Then we'll fight."

"Hope, your family isn't the only one with or had a hybrid. That woman is also a hybrid. A very powerful one." He explained, oh she did not like what she just heard.

Her memories of her father and mother slowly came back, making her heart beat fast. Hyperventilating, she tried to back away from the door making Alaric puzzled and worried.

"Hope? Hope?!"

As soon as Alaric stood up, the tribrid disappeared with her speed in the woods. She sat down leaning to a tree, trying to calm her heart down - but her fathers evil doings are constantly flashing in her mind.

"Stop! Please!"

"Tardus Pulsatio" The woman casted the spell onto Hope, her eyes widened slowly backing up. "Otium Mentis" She added.

Hope can now control her breathing thanks to this witch, she feels calmer now though she doubts it will last long. She looked at the woman standing right in front of her with pity plastered in her face.

"Why are you helping me?... I almost killed your sister.."

"Penelope's awake. She was going to find you, but I stopped her. I came in her stead."

Hope only nodded, standing up was a difficult task. She looked at the woman studying her features, she really looks like Penelope.

"My name is Nella Park. Like your father, I'm also a hybrid. Vampire-witch. Rare, but existing."

Hope didn't reply cause she didn't want to think of her father, so the woman began to walk away. But before she got out of Hope's vision, she turned around.

"I will leave for Belgium... with Penelope. Till' next time, tribrid."

"Wait.. why did you tell me all of this?"

Nella smirked at her before whispering, "Learn, tribrid. There are powerful creatures after you and the school."

"Goodbye."

Before Hope could ask further, Nella disappeared almost instantaneously, she ran to Penelope's room hoping she could at least get to apologize.

She was almost too late had she been a millisecond slower because of the people clamoring in front of Penelope's door — Hope ordered everyone to leave before bursting the door open.

"Penelope.."

"Mikaelson.. again?" The dark-haired witch was stunned upon seeing the blue-eyed tribrid at her door.

Hope did not expect to see Penelope in just her underwear, she quickly shut the door. Hearing laughter from the other side made her groan in frustration, she thought why must she be so reckless?

"Come in now, perv. I'm all dressed."

Hope opened the door slowly to see a mischievous smirk on Penelope's face. She gathered all courage to apologize, but even before she could; Penelope stopped her.

"Hold on, Mikaelson. You know I don't accept apologies."

"What?"

"Instead, how about you repay me with something else?" Penelope spoke in such a dark, deep tone that the tribrid shivered.

Quickly gaining back her composure, Hope raised her eyebrows, "I am not sleeping with you, Park."

Penelope laughed at her — walking back to her suitcase, shaking her head. She casted a spell to put the remaining items in the bag then turned around to face Hope.

"I was thinking more of a milkshake than sex, but your idea is clever. I didn't know you had it in you." She winked before walking past the stunned tribrid.

Hope was beyond embarrassed that she wanted to die instead of dealing with this, "Right, and you can forgive. I didn't know you had it in you either."

"Touché, Mikaelson. Then, next time we meet you owe me a great sex."

"No way!"

Penelope smiled one last time, "Milkshake it is then."

Nella appeared beside her sister picking her up from the room to leave. She gave a nod to Hope, acknowledging her existence. Hope could only mutter 'take care' to herself.

Months later.....

There was a big bad guy on the loose, and no it's not a creature. More like a human that stole a very dangerous artifact, then went to Brussels to hide. Not a very smart move.

On second thought, maybe be this was fate and greed's doing.

Alaric paced back and forth in his office biting his nails profusely, Hope rolled her eyes and groaning.

"Let's just go to Brussels, and take it back!"

Alaric gave her the 'you think I didn't think of that' look. Hope rolled her eyes once more as she waits for an answer to why he cannot leave this stupid place.

"I'm banned from flying overseas, Caroline's rules." He explained finally taking a sit.

"And why would she do that?"

"I have no i d e a."

"We'll go with you, Hope!" Josie and Lizzie came opening the door suddenly, shocking both their dad and friend.

"Great Idea, sweetie. Pack your bags, I'll get you a flight asap!"  Alaric motioned for them to leave the office now and go back to class.

Upon stepping on the other side, Hope gave the twins a confused look. They usually hated going out and fighting, so what changed?

"Look, we're done seeing you unnecessarily sacrificing yourself everytime. It's tiring."

Lizzie rolled her eyes as she spoke, Josie chuckled at her sister. She grabbed the tribrid's shoulder giving her the look of encouragement.

Hope finally feels like she's not alone or being used.

"You know, you two only dated for a week. Give me a break with all that staring, gosh!" Lizzie scoffed walking away from the two, they only laughed at her in response.

"You're just jealous I dated a tribrid and you didn't!" Josie joked with her twin, so she abruptly turned around and smirked.

"Maybe I could date a hybrid's sister, Penelope."

Josie had her jaw drop, she did not think her sister would even consider that — even if it's just a joke! Lizzie flipped her hair on her twin before she continued walking to their class.

"Speaking of, isn't Satan in Brussels?"

"She is, she's studying in the capital." Hope finally opened her mouth to say something.

The two gave her a puzzling look in which she returned with a what look, Lizzie stopped on her tracks followed by Josie.

"How do you know that?"

Josie was dead serious, looking straight in Hope's eyes. Hope was trying to find the right words to say, but nothing came out.

"Oh my god, don't tell me you were eavesdropping on my conversation with Gaby!"

Light bulb!

"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to. It's just that my ears.." Hope reasoned out, internally thanking the blonde-twin for her unknowingly helpful statement.

"Whatever, will you be fine, Jo?"

"Of course, Liz. I've moved on, and besides what's the chance we'll bump into her; Belgium is big."

Little did they know.

"See you after class, girls."

"Hey Prodigy, sit with us during lunch."

Lizzie tapped her shoulder, Hope was about to deny the request but the Siphoner raised her index finger to Hope's lips, shutting it close then shook her head, "Shh, just go with it."

Hope couldn't do anything but nod instead.

The entire period of the class, Hope was stuck in her daydream. She was thinking of her old schoolmate, Penelope. Stuck in a daze, Alaric opened the door to her class without noticing it.

"Hope Mikaelson, the headmaster is calling you to come to his office."

The teacher to no avail, slammed his eraser on the desk as Hope could not hear nor see him — apparently.  This made the tribrid flinch, flashing her yellow eyes to the teacher as she left with Alaric.

"Must you be so intense? You scared the shit of him, Hope."

"Oh boo hoo, language Mr. Saltzman."

Hope merely shrugged as she continued to stride forward, paying no attention to anyone. Not even the twins who greeted her upon meeting with them in the office.

"What shat in her pants today?"

"Lizzie, be nice."

"Uh-whatever" The blonde rolled her eyes at the twin sitting on the opposite site of both Hope and Josie.

"Are you okay, Hope?"

Hope gave her a nod smiling at the brunette beside her. Alaric is now pacing back and forth once again, annoying the 3 witches.

"Dad! Could you stop moving around like a maggot?!"

"I'm sorry it's just that... Clarke." Alaric began, looking at Hope worriedly.

"What happened with Clarke?"

The tribrid asked veins are visible and her eyes turning golden-yellow once again, Josie held the angered tribrid's hand assuming she'd calm down.

"Hope! Hope, calm down."

"He's also in Belgium, no clue how he got out of Malivore. But, I contacted Ms. Park just inc-"

The headmaster desperately tried to calm the three witches down. But, Hope grew impatient and disappeared to her room.

She gathered all the things she could possibly need in Belgium, clothes, money, and one pair of shoes.

"Hope, wait! Could you relax for one second?!"

This time Josie was angry, but she was worried. Hope shook her head and proceeded to the door, Lizzie grabbed her arm and spun her around — at least tried to.

"How are you even going to go? What, do you suddenly have wings?"

"Shut up, Lizzie. Don't make me hurt you."

Just then, Hope's phone rang. It was Nella Park.

She quickly accepted the call.

"Nella?! How is she, what's the situation?"

"Hope Mikaelson, Come."

That was the last thing she heard before the call ended, Hope was confused. The hybrid never calls her by her name, it was a mix-species kind of thing.

"Nella? As in Penelope's, hotter older sister? How did you even-" Lizzie walked up to Hope with her arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

"No time for questions, Lizzie. I have to go."

"Hope, we're coming with you whether you like it or not." Josie interfered, determination obvious from her eyes.

"Girls, thanks for the help. Here are your tickets, I will follow after a day. Be careful."

Alaric as soon as the door opened, panting, he hands out the tickets to the three girls. Their flight was immediate, Hope nodded before going to the parking lot.

——","——

"Remind me again, why they came?"

Lizzie nudged Hope's shoulder as she lazily pointed at the guys with them right now — Landon and MG, currently gossiping with Josie. Hope shrugged as a reply, she did not want to state that Landon was interested in her. No.

"So, where are we staying?" MG looked at Hope for affirmation, then Hope looked at the twins asking her for explanation.

"Our mother is here, we're staying at her apartment."

"Sweet!"

The so called here-to-save-Belgium squad arrived at Caroline's home, however they were greeted by none other than silence itself. No one was there, it was like no one lived there for months.

"Mom?" Josie called out to the darkness, no one answered.

"MG, Hope, surely you can use your enhanced hearing and smelling power to know. Right?"

Lizzie opened her mouth, to yet another sarcastic remark.  Hope closed her eyes to feel any presence, there wasn't any. MG shook his head indicating that there was also no sign for him.

Just then like fate wanted it to happen, Lizzie and Josie received a text from their mother, wow.

"She texted an address, let's go."

Hope was rushing, she did not wait for the others upon stepping foot inside the dark mansion. It was literally all black, so monotonous. Hope searched the room for any possible signs, she could only feel one presence.

Hope dashed to a room at the very end, and upon kicking the door open she saw a very casual witch sitting in front of a desk focusing on her laptop. She could not believe what she was seeing. Nella, the hybrid, had her hair up in a ponytail wearing specs.

Nella took one glace and back before realizing who was in front of her, she was astounded by the tribrids presence and the dark aura coming from her.

"What the hell, tribrid?!"

"Why do you look appalled? You called me here, hybrid."

Hope was frustrated seeing how confused the hybrid was. The hybrid faced her, and her newly arrived friends. As she gathered her composure almost instantly.

"And when did I do that? Why would I do that?"

"You called me here, they're the witness. Where's Penelope anyway?"

Hope pointed to the twins and the two guys with them, they nodded in agreement. The hybrid tilted her head at them.

"I did not, and Penelope? Shouldn't I be the one asking that?"

"What do you mean, Ms. Park?" This time MG rebutted, he was getting worrisome.

"Penelope came back to Salvatore 2 months ago, we haven't talked since."

"What?! She's not there, hybrid."

"Tribrid, okay so you'll find her."

"You?! What about her sister?" Hope angrily walks up to her, but Nella just ignored her.

It was frustrating Hope that Penelope's own sister does not care whether her sister's okay or not. Nella took a deep breath before confessing her secret.

"I don't have my magic, I don't have enhanced senses and all. Before you ask why, I made Penelope seal my powers before she left."

"Girls?"

A tall-blonde lady entered the room facing the twins, it was Caroline dressed in her fighting suit. She grabbed the others before bidding her farewell to Hope and Nella.

"Why did you do that?"

"Enough about me, aren't you here for Penelope — and the artifact?.."

Hope cleared her throat, looking away from the smirking hybrid. Nella turned back to her laptop, giving hope the artifact they were looking for.

"How did you-"

"Tried to hurt our mother, I killed the guy; kept that." Nella pointed at the item with her mouth. She's hiding it, but Hope felt the hybrid was nervous too.

"Find Penelope, tribrid. Please."

"I can't sense her, at all."

"You can, carpe ut lux et coram sensit — ostendat tramite viam. Recite, when the moon arises. You need a fire circle, the siphoners to recite with you. And, the vampires blood as well as the phoenix's surrounding you and the twins."

"That's too much to take in."

Hope groaned at Nella's instructions, but for the first time she saw her gave a genuine smile. An assurance.

"For Penelope."

After a few minutes, the tribrid finally left the room. Closing the door behind her, muttering to herself, "For Penelope.."
