"keys and money?"
"check."
"clothes are packed?"
"yes, darling."
"sunscreen?"
"in my bag."
"do we need a map?" hyunwoo asked with a serious face.
kihyun laughed, "we have a gps for that, big guy."
hyunwoo nudged kihyun playfully and turned his head to look at the excited kids. each of them wearing bright colorful hat (because kihyun was worried if the sun got too hot for them).
"hoseok all the bags are at the back?"
"yes captain!" hoseok sing-song from the seat with a huge smile. he then gave a thumbs up.
"small pillows and blankets for the babies?"
"with me, dad" hyungwon answered without looking up from his book. he pushed his glasses up and continued reading.
"food and drinks?" hyunwoo started the car and slowly leaving the house. kihyun was quiet beside him. thinking.
"yes and of course yes!" minhyuk chirped gleefully. he couldn't sit still because he's too excited. they're going to have a picnic at amusement park! one minute he's mumbling about fun things he want to do, another minute he's bothering hyungwon reading. he then ended up sticking half of his face to the window and watch the blue sky.
"jooheon ready?" hyunwoo grinned and tried to steal a glance at jooheon from behind his shoulder. the boy gave a toothy smile and giggled.
"why do i feel like we've left something important?" kihyun murmured worriedly. his face scrunched up trying to remember. he packed all the necessary things. what else?
kihyun didn't want this trip to fail. he wanted this to be the best memory for him and the family he loved the most.
hyunwoo glanced at his husband and shrugged. he's also clueless. "i don't know... did you bring changkyun's bag?"
"oh my god" kihyun screamed. the kids were flustered. hyunwoo slowed the car and tried to check on kihyun who became pale.
"we left changkyun!"

they're glad changkyun wasn't crying when they came back to get the lost kid. the boy only stared at kihyun with his big eyes and snuggled closer to his parent, refused to sit on his own seat.
"understandable." hyunwoo commented as he looked at kihyun who kept saying sorry and smooching the boy who wasn't protesting. "he's probably scared we might leave him again." he joked although his heart was still racing at their carelessness.
kihyun talked in cute voice and pinched both changkyun's cheeks playfully, "mommy very sorry."
minhyuk's head peeking out in the middle of the parents "we also sorry because we didn't notice too." there's a chorus of 'sorry!' from wonho and hyungwon.
kihyun laughed. "apology accepted. what's important is baby kyun is safe now." kihyun craddled his son tighter. changkyun hummed contently.
"everyone's here?" hyunwoo asked with an amused grin. kihyun was just done buckling changkyun's seatbelt. jooheon nodded enthusiastically. "yes!" he screamed, bringing laughter to everyone.
hyunwoo winked at kihyun and continued driving. kihyun started to scroll his song playlist. "any song request?" he asked the kids. as expected both hoseok and minhyuk jumping on their seat, excited.
"me! me!"
"no, mom I want it!"
jooheon also joined in, "song! song!"
changkyun stayed quiet in his seat, watching the scenery outside the window changed. it's like his own personal entertainment.
"I will play everyone's requested song. don't fight." kihyun calmed the kids. "hyungwon?" kihyun turned his head a bit to see his son was sandwiched between the energetic minhyuk and eager hoseok.
"my favorite song is boring." hyungwon replied nervously. minhyuk brushed him off, "let's listen to it together" hoseok also agreed. "yeah, hyungwon."
"hm it's bad guy by billie eilish"
kihyun found the song and played it. not long after he's nodding his head and moving to the rhythm. "i like this song. i will add this to my playlist." he smiled at hyungwon.
"thank you, mom" hyungwon's face lit up. he felt better when hyunwoo and hoseok also seemed to like the song. hyunwoo said nothing but he saw his dad tapping his fingers on the wheel.
"why is she whispering?" minhyuk giggled. when the song ended he was the first one to raise his hand, "me next!"
"sure, honey what song do you want?"
"anything by day6! I love them!"
hyunwoo smiled although his eyes were on the road, "why do you love them?"
minhyuk was flustered. "they have good music hmm they are a good band" he blushed. "they are good looking."
hoseok made a face and exclaimed a loud "ooh~" minhyuk showed his fist and attempted to land a (harmless) punch on his brother before hyungwon stopping him.
kihyun poked his husband's waist when he started chuckling. "stop teasing my boy" he warned. kihyun went back to his phone and searched for day6. "which song do you want, minhyuk?"
"you were beautiful."
"hey they sound amazing. the lyrics also beautiful." hoseok showed a thumbs up after listening 20 seconds of the song. "i want to be a fan too!"
"this song...brings back memories." hyunwoo stole a glance at his husband and was surprised to see those eyes were brimming with tears.
"yes." he whispered. "still, a good memory" he blinked the tears away and flashed a smile.
"i love you" hyunwoo said it sincerely. he reached out a hand to hold kihyun's hand. they interlocked their fingers together. hyunwoo squeezed his hand firmly.
"i love you too."
"wow that was powerful." minhyuk commented to no one when the song's over. jooheon started to scream "baby shark" repeatedly that hoseok just gave up and let his brother had his turn first.
he couldn't stay mad at his brother forever since jooheon was too adorable and the way he sang along to the song and tried to do the dance as the baby seat allowed him brought joy to everyone in the car. kihyun tried his best to record the moment in his phone.he wanted to treasure this moment forever.
he also wanted to share it with hyunwoo who had to focus on the driving.
"okay hoseok your turn." kihyun called his oldest son. hoseok grinned. "shake it by sistar."
"i love that song." hyunwoo added with a suspicious grin. kihyun raised an eyebrow at the two males. "am i missing something here?"
"nothing" hoseok laughed while hyunwoo shrugged but the smile was still plastered on his innocent face.
"hoseok likes pretty girls!" minhyuk exposed his brother like it was a habit. hyungwon cackled secretly behind his hand when he remembered something.
"hey it's normal!" hoseok defended himself. he then shushed his brothers so he could enjoy the song properly. minhyuk and hyungwon continued gossiping.
"i hear that!" hoseok went to tickle both boys as revenge. loud laughter erupted from the back. jooheon watched the scene with fascination as he's strapped to the seat and couldn't join his brothers behind him.
"i see." kihyun fixed his stare on hyunwoo, demanding an explanation.
"i swear you're the sexiest in my eyes." hyunwoo ruffled kihyun's hair with one hand. "i would have rub you elsewhere if I'm not driving!" he added in low voice.
kihyun blushed, "oh shut up. the kids here."
"okay my turn!" hyunwoo declared out of blue. "can you play shape of you for me, sweetheart?" he asked kihyun sweetly. kihyun rolled his eyes and found the song.
what he didn't expect was for hyunwoo to sing the whole song. with his hand still being held by the man.
kihyun would be lying if he said his heart didn't skip a beat.
the kids were being loud from the back after witnessing their father's romantic action. changkyun also happy when he saw kihyun won't stop smiling.
when the song ended kihyun leaned closer and placed a soft kiss on hyunwoo's cheek. hyunwoo was taken aback but pleased nonetheless.
"thank you." kihyun said shyly.
changkyun made grabby hands at kihyun. he looked at his son confusedly. "you want a song too?"
but changkyun shook his head and only clapped his hands.
"you like all the song?" kihyun asked again.
changkyun nodded.

"we are here!" minhyuk shouted excitedly while pointing at the amusement park huge entrance. he jabbed the glass window repeatedly to emphasize his point. hyungwon shook his head lightly and put his book in his backpack.
hoseok groaned, "we know that no need to scream." he took a look at the outside view and grinned. "i want to try every rides inside there."
"even the rollercoaster?" kihyun asked with a smirk. he knew his son too well.
"well uhm." hoseok grew abashed at the question. "sure if minhyuk and hyungwon are with me!"
hyungwon's eyes widened. "hey don't get us involved!" minhyuk stuck out a tongue childishly. hoseok only pouted back.
kihyun would have tease his children more if not because of changkyun who grew restless. "he gets cranky." kihyun told hyunwoo who understood and immediately parked the car at the nearest empty spot.
the parent turned his head to hyungwon, "be a sweetheart and wake jooheon up please? we have arrived." hyungwon nodded. "thank you my dear." kihyun praised his son.
hoseok and minhyuk were still in a heated discussion on which attraction they wanted to try first.
"okay boys let's go now." hyunwoo stopped the car and unfastened his seatbelt. kihyun followed him suit.
the boys got off the car one by one with their own backpack strapped on each of them. hoseok fixed his crooked hat and whistled happily. he could feel today's going to be a great day.
minhyuk skipped towards hyunwoo and asked the man to take his pictures with the huge 'magic island' sign as the background.
"I’m carrying changkyun now." hyunwoo explained but ended up holding minhyuk's phone in right hand and holding changkyun with his left hand.
the thing he did for his son.
hyungwon helped jooheon got out from his seat and walked hand-in-hand towards kihyun.
kihyun carried a sling bag on one shoulder and holding a huge bag full with food. he looked visibly tired already.
"I can help with that." hoseok offered a helping hand. kihyun shook his head with a small smile. "you help me take care of jooheon and minhyuk."
hoseok showed a pained expression. he would rather carry the heaviest bag in the world than looking after minhyuk in public place. "okay." he scowled.
"boys come here." hyunwoo called his kids. "remember to not walk too far from each other. if you want to go anywhere tell one of your brother. don't trust any strangers. take care of your belongings. hoseok and hyungwon are your leaders for today."
hoseok flashed a grin that earned a fake gag noise from minhyuk and hyungwon only tightened his grip around jooheon a bit. he seemed a bit nervous.
"get your tickets here," kihyun opened his wallet and took out a few pieces of paper. "later you will give this to the staff at the entrance. understand?"
the boys nodded and took the tickets. the older siblings led both minhyuk and jooheon to enter the place while kihyun approached hyunwoo and changkyun.
"he's so red." kihyun placed the back of his hand on changkyun's forehead but felt no warmth. changkyun showed no expression. "did he catch a cold?"
"not sure." hyunwoo said. "just ready some tissues and mineral water and we'll be fine."
kihyun patted changkyun's cheek once and walked beside hyunwoo. changkyun in the middle, holding his parents' hand.
"mom, dad, come here quick!" minhyuk waved at them while jumping at one place. hoseok pretended to not know the loud boy. oh how embarrassing.
hyunwoo and kihyun looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"you guys done?" kihyun asked the boys after he went through the gate. hoseok and hyungwon nodded. jooheon waddled towards hyunwoo and tugged on the man's jeans.
"walk with me too." he pouted. his eyes were fixed on changkyun's small hand in hyunwoo's grip.
"today jooheon will walk with me. i will show you a lot of things." hyungwon held the boy's hand softly and jooheon happily left hyunwoo.
kihyun laughed at the sight.
"are we splitting?" hoseok asked as they walked further into the park. minhyuk was busy taking selfies.
hyunwoo gauged a reaction from kihyun. "well, if you want. but remember what i said before."
hyunwoo didn't get to finish his sentence when hoseok and minhyuk dashed away from his view.
kihyun facepalmed. hyungwon promised to only bring jooheon to kids' rides and also disappeared.
"now let's have a date." hyunwoo grinned guiltily. kihyun pointed at changkyun with his mouth.
"better than none."

"hey look!"
hoseok turned around and saw minhyuk wearing a neon headband. the boy made cute faces and acted goofy.
"looks good on you." hoseok shrugged. minhyuk sighed and put the accessory back. "not enough money to buy."
kihyun knew better than giving the boys unnecessarily huge amount of money when they went out. after all they only needed to ask and went through a whole interrogation process before kihyun agreed to buy for them.
hoseok gave his brother a half-hug and brought him away from the gift shop. he tried to cheer minhyuk up by taking pictures of the boy.
that seemed to be the trick.
"here! here!"
hoseok stayed behind the lense patiently as minhyuk did various poses on every spot they came across.
"wow that sure looks yummy." minhyuk stared at the soft pink cotton candy and let out a dreamy sigh. hoseok also gulped at the sight. it had been a long time since he tasted something sweet like cotton candy.
"come on." he pulled minhyuk by the hand. they continued walking and stopped to admire the main attraction of the park.
"i dare you to ride that." minhyuk pointed at the huge bungee drop in front of them. hoseok groaned at the spontaneous idea.
"you crazy? i'm gonna die!" he looked at the giant structure. up and down. insane. that's the highest bungee drop he had ever seen in his 12 years of life.
not to add the loud murderous scream he could hear each time the ride did dangerous sudden drop. he swore his heart might fell out of his mouth in any minute.
"okay if you try that i will enter the ghost house alone!" minhyuk challenged his brother. he raised an eyebrow and gave a playful smirk. teasing hoseok was always fun.
"and buy you the cotton candy." he added.
hoseok could always ask hyunwoo or kihyun to buy it for him but he didn't know how and why he got the courage to agree with the stupid bet.
"bring it on!"
hoseok blamed it on his ego.

"are you sure about this?"
they were now in the line to ride the spinning teacups. rather than worrying about changkyun he's actually more concerned with hyunwoo. his husband wasn't good with keeping balance when spinning in circle.
"of course." hyunwoo put on a confident smug. kihyun decided to agree this time. he checked on changkyun and used some tissues to clean his son's runny nose.
"is my baby sick?" kihyun asked softly. changkyun shook his head and buried his face into hyunwoo's shoulder.
hyunwoo looked around the crowded place. "maybe he's uncomfortable." the line got shorter and it was finally their turn.
"i'm so not excited for this." kihyun admitted. he placed the bags near his feet and kept his sunglasses in its case. "i better not see either one of us throwing up after this ride."
"relax, darling." hyunwoo made sure changkyun was comfortable between him and kihyun before leaning closer to land a quick kiss on his husband's pouting lips. "this going to be fun!"
kihyun tightened his hold on the edge of the cup when they started to spin.
"i hope so!"

“thank you hyungwon!”
hyungwon only smiled as he patted on jooheon’s head. the little boy’s hands were full with chocolates and cute theme park souvenirs. hyungwon used his own pocket money to treat his brother. just seeing jooheon happy made him happy too.
“where should we go next?” hyungwon asked.
jooheon looked around and found an empty bench. “can we sit there? my legs are tired.” he pouted. hyungwon felt sorry. “of course.”
jooheon ran to the bench quickly to get the spot but before he could put down his stuffs a boy came and pushed him. jooheon fell.
“jooheon!” hyungwon went to his brother and helped him to get up. he also picked up the scattered goodies on the floor. jooheon didn’t cry but his face was bright red, either holding back his tears or trying not to show the pain.
“this seat is mine i came here first!” jooheon stomped his feet. hyungwon looked at the other boy who had the audacity to sat on their supposed bench. the boy stuck out his tongue.
“i don’t care.”
“come on jooheon let’s find another one hm?” hyungwon persuaded his brother to leave. jooheon turned to him with tears in his eyes.
“you should stand up for me. i wish my brother wasn’t so weak!” he screamed and left hyungwon.
hyungwon was devastated. he looked down and held himself back from crying.
“i just want to be your brother.”

the family gathered at the entrance and decided to call the trip done without the picnic.
hyunwoo was feeling sick after the ride and puked twice, much to kihyun dismay. changkyun won’t stop crying until he fell asleep, apparently the boy got stomach ache.
kihyun didn’t even want to start with his older kids.
hoseok looked green in the face like he just got off the rollercoaster and minhyuk was pale as a ghost. jooheon was unexpectedly quiet while hyungwon only looked down and said nothing.
“did you guys had fun?”
“yes.” the kids lied.
now kihyun really had to know what exactly happened.
