Some say fate isn't real, others say it's just pain and suffering, and once in a lifetime you'll hear someone say it's beauty and peace. Here in this story soulmates are real and this is how we meet.
(In which fate has three happy endings and one where there is darkness and tears)
(With endless possibilities and timelines we always have a second chance. Maybe in some pain, but here we find joy in our fates. It's peace and care in the gentle fate of forgiveness. Or maybe it's an apology for the hell we when through. For the mistakes we make and made, a apology and a thank you. Three end in joy and one ends in pain)
One: Meet in a park on a sunlit day in June.
(Here we see a light we'd been before, here it starts with a run away pup and ends with a joyous reunion)
Here it's June, school is out for the twins and now, they have the time to be family. We take the dog and go to park to walk and play. When Rufus, their one year old puppy breaks free from his leash runs far away. He and Padmé chase him down to find him being petted by and auburn haired man and a thin blond female. The man's sleeves are rolled up and the woman hands a free. On mans are is his and Padmé's mark, four over lapping circles with woth swirls of pink, purple, black, and blue galaxy. Both freeze in their tracks. The couple spots them and let's Rufus pull them over.
He show them his and Padmé's and they theirs, the hug and rejoice at the reunion and meeting of the final pieces. They exchange contact info and go their separate ways.
(Here the pain still existed but in was in a pasted life, here they meet again and again and again. Here they kiss under a porch while it rains as their children watch from as upstairs window.)
Now, months have passed, now in one home they share, Luke and Leia love their new parents amd easily accept their family, mama and mommy with papa and dada love them equally. Luke clings to Padmé and Satine while Leia latches on to her fathers. Here they raise their children and live with out the pain of the past.
Two: We kiss at night under sheets of stars while the fireworks blow overhead
(Here we laugh as we swim and eat a meal of hamburgers and hot dogs woth chips and soda as kids splash in the background. Here is still in canon universe but this ones happy. Here they live and celebrate the end of a war. Here time is right.)
Here they win the war. Here they grow old together. Here the Jedi live, the Sith die. Here they are family. They celebrate at the Jedi temple in the rooftop yard, children play and train well the adults talk and laugh and drink. Jedi are allowed to love. Hot dogs and hamburgers pass through people and are gone in seconds. This is one happy ending.
(Here Satine doesn't die, nor does Padmé. Anakin still struggle with darkness but has three lovely spouse to pull him back and weigh him down with love. Here Ahsoka doesn't leave the Order And Barriss doesn't bomb, here the two live happily has brides. Here Jedi love)
They laugh as fireworks blow up in to pretty patterns to remind people the war has ended as the first firework goes off the share a four way kiss. As children sleep in the grass or on laps.
(Here ice pops melt in to already sticky fingers. Here is happiness and peace. Here is love.)
Three: We raise our family in time of peace, children with red, brown, and blond hair.
(Here we find joy in small children running around at our feet well we read and cook. This timeline has no secrets. Here Ahsoka doesn't leave the Order. Here Padmé doesn't die nor does Satine, here Anakin doesn't fall. Here Obi-Wan smiles. Here many children are born from shared pregnancies. There is still pain from the beginning, middle, and end, but this is still happy ending.)
This time is the same as many but this one has no secrets. This time around Padmé and Satine meet as queens. Here after the first battle of Geonosis, Anakin tells Obi-Wan he's marrying Padmé when they return to Naboo, this changes everything, Obi-Wan goes with them and is the witness to their marriage as well as Padmé's handmaids. And when Satine needs help and he and Obi-Wan go, Obi-Wan tells everything about his relation between the Duchess and himself. And when the time came and Obi-Wan could hide his feelings anymore Anakin helped in acting upon them.
(Here they are family, more even. Here they work as one when the four are put together. Here accidents happen and children of light are born.)
Brothers in arms on battlefields and sisters in political battles. A unlikely quartet but a strong one. Still hiding their love but they are happy. But war is hard and sometimes after a long day you forget protection and tiny, helpless, fragile lives are made.
(Here they panic, here they worry, here they cry. When uncalled for illness comes over the girls and the pregnancy tests beep positive they cry in worry. Here Obi-Wan gets off the transport with Anakin. Here both Satine and Padmé hide behind the pillar of the Senate hall, together gripping hands. Here they cry in worry but are soothed by strong arms.)
Together they grow, they support eachother, they worry about eachother as one. The children still grow in secret but Padmé and Satine have eachother as Anakin and Obi-Wan do. Anakin still has nightmares of Padmé dying in childbirth. The children grow happy and safe in their mommys' bellies. Everyday is a new battle. But they fight it together, not alone, not just two or three but four.
(Anakin still has nightmares of Padmé dying in childbirth but here he sees Satine too. Still hesitant to tell Obi-Wan but with a little shove from the girls he tells him, together they work through the pain.)
This time around they find out about the twin as soon as they could. They rejoice and cry. Late after battle and saving the Chancellor they realise their feelings are not just platonic but romantic and that night they share their first kiss.
(Here they keep eachother together and when time came they made all the right moves. Anakin still is close to Palpatine but is more wary.)
When Anakin confides in Palpatine and fines his is the Sith, he doesn't wait he tells Obi-Wan and Padmé and Satine then runs full steed back to the temple brushing pass people and knocking into them hurrying to Master Mace Windu.
(This time around he tells him by bursting into the council room panting, red faced, out of breath, and sweaty. He doesn't even wait for them to get angry. He blurts in out so fast he repeats it five times before they understand him and when Windu askes him if he's sure he looks the man dead in the eyes and tells him, "Without a doubt, he told me himself," here when he is told to wait and doesn't. He doesn't kill Windu or the younglings but Palpatine.)
When they are celebrating the Duchess and Former Queen go into labor and they rush back not caring who saw or heard. Labor lasts days but on the bed they shared, he comforts the laboring females with coos and gentle words and when it's time to push, he and Obi-Wan slide behind their loves holding them up as they bring their children, all four of their children into this universe. And when they are placed at his chest, two tiny babies in each arm he cries, so happy he finally got it right.
(Here they don't face punishment by the Jedi for breaking the code, here they come clean. But it's just right.)
When they bring their babies to the temple they are passed around with love and care. Strong in the force it was decided as soon as they felt it, that whatever their children chose they would support them no matter what.
He and Obi-Wan leave the Order on the own accord, though they still visit all the time. Ahsoka is knighted but leaves with them. Padmé leaves Senate life, an easy choice for her. Satine abdicates from her throne, relinquishing her power and claims as Duchess of Mandalore. They retire from public life and return to Padmé's home on Naboo.
(Year's down the line their children become great Jedi and politicians, they live a long life, happy together. They still die apart but this time it's okay.)
Obi-Wan is the first to go, passing peacefully, fading into the force. Only weeks then Satine is next, a sudden illness takes her, she too fades into the force. Padmé pass third a year after, quietly going during the night, fading to the force. Only a few months pass before it's time for him to join them. It's sunset when Death lays his hand on his shoulder. He smiles at the figure and askes for one more minute to enjoy the light rain that falls softly and gently outside is window so light you and still see the sun and moon dancing with the day sky filled with clouds and the night sky filled with stars. He turns back ready to go and passed his children and grandchildren he sees them his loves, his friends, Qui-Gon, his mom, Yoda and even Windu. Taking in last glance at the sky he breathes his last breath and peacefully fades into the force join his family again.
(Here they are buried together, all laid side by side. Both he and Obi-Wan are buried with their lightsabers, which are laid at their feet. Padmé holds the necklace he gave her as a child around her neck. Satine holds nothing. Both Satine and Padmé are laid in blue, well their wear Jedi robes as tradition. Their hands are interlocked. So peaceful in eternal sleep. Many visit their tomb but for them they rest in the force together, forever more.
Four: And the one they don't.
(Here is pain and suffering, the one where we don't get a happy ending tonight or tomorrow night, here is death, betrayal, and tears. The one with darkness and pain. This is their beginning, middle, and end. Obi-Wan, Satine, Anakin, and Padmé happen here. They were happy for a bit in this universe. They loved and they lost. There were good times and bad. But this is the one with death. Maybe it's because of this universe that they got different chances to get it right.)
Satine dies first. In the arms of the man she loves. It's as if time slowed down. He see Satine fall limp and it's like Qui-Gon all over again. It's now two people he's lost to Maul. It's now to people he's lost and thinks he fails. He doesn't cry there.
(In another universe they meet in different circumstances. And in different times she lives and together they raise a family. But not here, in this one they love little by little, and the death of Satine cuts them deep, and the wounds never stop bleeding. And how it aches and bleeds. It isn't fair they cry, it isn't fair.)
And Obi-Wan? He wonders why he's still fighting this goddamns war. If it was the Death of his love, and no it wasn't.
When returns to their home, he breaks in the arms of Anakin and Padmé, he sobs as they cry. Trying to comfort him and themselves. They loved her too. He sobs and all he can do, all they can do is desperately hold on to each other. She wasn't suppose to leave. Not like this, never like this.
They will look at photos and cry. They miss her so much, at night they whisper to her ghost "wait for me, wait for us, please."
(Maybe in another universe the crown wasn't so heavy and the times weren't so dangerous and together they live happily.)
The war goes on and the go back to fighting. On battlefields of bloodshed and death. They fight and fight and fight, losing hope every second. They cry together.
(In another universe they don't have a war. In another universe they raise a family. In another universe they live. But not here.)
Order 66 happens the Mustafar happens and he and his lover fight. He cuts Anakin physically but he cuts himself in every way possible. He screams out "I loved you" and all he hears is a hurt and betrayed "I hate you". He leaves Anakin to die on the banks of the lava, regretting this for the rest of his live. He take Padmé to Bail's ship where she births their twins. Little Luke and Leia. And then his last lover breaths out their names and passes on. The twins cry in his arms, silence tears role down his face. He names them as his lovers wished, Luke and Leia. He give the children their Mothers' and Fathers' name for their middle, Luke Anakin Amidala-Kenobi-Kryze-Skywalker and Leia Padmé Amidala-Kenobi-Kryze-Skywalker. As he lays them down in the bassinets he whispers a promise to his loves who have passed on, so quickly have one another.
(First Satine, then Padmé, and now Anakin. All in a few months. He sobs, he sobs so hard above their, no, his children. Their gone now, it's only him.)
He whispers through his cries, "I'll protect them my darlings, I promise my loves I'll keep them safe, I promise."
He's told to split them up. Told to take them away from eachother after all they've lost, after all he lost. No, no he couldn't, they're all he had left. He begs Yoda to keep them together, through tears he told them he couldn't lose them too. Yoda looked at him sadly but he knows, they'll be safer apart.
Together they sit with Bail and plan, make his wife still look pregnant and return her to Naboo, then go into hiding. Bail agrees to take hus daughter, Leia. "She will be loved,". Obi-Wan know that's he being truthful. He is to take Luke to Tatooine and pass in to Anakin's step-brother and his wife.
Padmé and Satine wouldn't have wanted that. Anakin wouldn't have agreed either. The work out what they can and then travel to Naboo. Padmé family greets him, they knew of his relation to their daughter, Padmé's handmaids are also there, they weep at the news of their queen's death.
(He hides in the shadows of the people at the funeral, not following his wife's casket, he wants to but he doesn't, he has to keep his children safe.)
People leave flowers and gifts outside the tomb. He waits, then goes himself, Leia in his left arm and Luke in his right. He says one last goodbye and leaves a small ring box on top of the casket. Inside are their engagement rings wedding bands with a small photo on the lip of them and their wedding. The wedding of his late spouse and himself. Padmé and Satine are in beautiful white wedding dresses. Padmé's is tinted blue and Satine's is tinted pink, he and Anakin are in formal Jedi robes, that day they promised themselves to eachother for life and death. He sheds tears and leaves hurriedly. Once he is back on the ship, he gathers what suppiles he can. When they get to his stop, he press one that kiss on his daughter's head and whispers, "Your mommies love you, your daddies love you, your twin loves you." He quickly wipes away the tears leaking down his face and goes picks up Luke. The twin seem to know what's happening because the start to wail and try to grip the other. He soothes them and their wails tamper off. He grabs Luke and with one more goodbye leaves for Tatooine.
He cries the whole away there, cradling his newborn son close his chest, many comfort him with sad smiles. They don't know what happened but with every that just took place they knew enough. He lands in the city where Padmé and Anakin first met all those years ago, and cries once more. He reachs the Lars house in a short amount of time, Owen is already outside, Beru greets him and before he passes him over he repeats the same words he said to Luke's twin hours before, "Your mommies love you, your daddies love you, your twin loves you." Before passing him over, she smiles at him and walks to her husband. He walks away without looking back. When he arrives at the shelter that Yoda spoke to him of, he sets his things on the floor and weeps. He weeps for Satine, for Padmé, for Anakin, for Luke, for Leia, for the Jedi, and for himself. He lost them.
Years later he hears his daughter's cry for help brought to him by son, together they race to help her. When he turns to face Vader, his padawan, his lover, his children's father, he looks back at Luke and Leia standing side by side firing at storm troopers. He turns back to Vader and with a sad smile lets the blade of the blood red saber brush through his body. Last thing he see is his children reunited and his last thoughts are on his loves and his children. Peacefully he goes to the Force.
(He wakes in a golden field, sitting up he looks acrossed to see his wives are there, sprinting like he is a young boy again runs to them and gathers them in his arms. Anakin joins them, it's awkward but full of love. Years pass and they meet their grandson, Benjamin Chewbacca Organa-Skywalker-Solo or Benny for short.)
(In the many universes, some are happy, some are sad. And in this one suffering was the main focus. But when death lays his hand on them to matter the ending it came as a mercy. They suffered so much pain that when the second chance came, they were granted a happy life with darkness yes but the light at the end of the tunnel was bright and beautiful.)
