Galaxy Mew Mew

Summary:

With the world overrun by Chimera Anima, what's left of the human race has had to flee in colony space ships. After four long years of living isolated this way, several girls step up to the challenge of becoming Mews through a project spearheaded by a scientist, with all hoping to rid the Earth of the Chimera Anima. In their quest to eliminate the threat, the team finds much more to the planet’s infestation than they realized. There’s danger around every corner, but the Mews are determined to save the human race and get them back to Earth.

This is an old work from 2012-2017 featuring all original characters while using some canon concepts from Tokyo Mew Mew. I'm currently in the process of editing and tuning the original drafts without changing all too much, so I won't post all the chapters at once. This may especially take some time because of my busy schedule and how much formatting there is necessary to do before posting to AO3. There will be three parts to the series: the main story, the art from the main story, and the epilogues (that are still being worked on as of 2021)

As a bit of background, I was originally a part of the colorover community in the early 2010's and made OC's with random stories using these recolors. Though, I did start to draw and create things on my own after a while and have since made many of my own series/OC's for TMM with my own art. Even today, I still draw random Mews for fun.
As for my original ideas for Galaxy Mew Mew, I kept the general designs from the recolors while making some slight tweaks, but the old story itself has generally stayed the same.

The story was first posted to the Tokyo Mew Mew Fanon Wiki, but I have always considered trying to post it on AO3. Some people really liked the fic back in the day, so I thought I'd give it a shot and archive it here. Character pages and the main story can still be found on the wiki. Some chapter endnotes that were originally posted in the wiki versions of the story will still be added here.

In regards to the art, do note that while I will post all the art in one separate work, I will be using one specific icon as scene separator within the story. This will be the only image used in the main work. I I also won't be posting the old recolors I did in the work with the art in it. These will remain youtube/wiki exclusive. Do please note, however, that the art I will post is from years ago. It will not be perfect!


General Notes and Warnings

  • This story is a product of it's time and does not reflect any canon content after the main anime series. This mainly follows the general formula of Mew Mews fighting Chimera Anima. Some elements transfer from the anime, but it is otherwise its own universe with many of its own rules.

  • This story, while following the formula of the anime, is not for very young audiences. There are death scenes/themes/mentions, mentions of injuries (very few and very brief), and a few frightening situations. Please do not read if any of this upsets you.
