Zagreus pushed on his chest and begged, “Than, Than! Fuck me, please? Please fuck me.”
Than grabbed his wrists and pulled away, “You still haven’t thanked me.”
Zagreus opened his mouth to respond and Thanatos slapped him hard enough to make his cheek sting. Before he could respond, Than grabbed his chin and forced him to look into his eyes.
“It’s too late,” he said, spitting into Zagreus’s still open mouth.

Zagreus returns from a successful run and forgets to thank Thanatos for helping him with some particularly nasty wretches in Asphodel. He is punished accordingly.
