Nagisa was in the middle of a job when he was called by Ibara. He found it weird since the other would never do something like that unless it was something important, whatever Ibara had to say it must be serious or else he wouldn’t be interrupted.
“ Your Excellency! I apologise for calling when you were busy, but this can’t wait! Please take a seat.” Nagisa did as told and sat in the chair in front of Ibara’s desk. “Could you please take a look at this?”
Ibara gave the unit leader his tablet and a video started playing. It was a video of both Nagisa and Hiyori, in the first seconds there was nothing wrong with it and the white haired idol wondered why was Ibara showing him that, but then the scene changed and it showed the leaders of Adam and Eve kissing.
“We received the video this morning, we are doing everything we can to find the one who recorded this but no luck…” Ibara explained, by his face Nagisa could tell he wasn’t going to like what the other idol would say next. “Your Excellency, Eden is in a risky place right now. Adam is falling behind Eve in terms of popularity and the executives won’t hesitate to disband our unit, and being in a relationship is strictly prohibited, if this goes public we will surely have a scandal.”
“...So we can’t be in a relationship…”
“No, you have a choice. Either continue with his Highness and we face the risk of getting disbanded, or you break up.” Both options were equally bad. How was Nagisa supposed to choose between Eden or Hiyori? Hiyori was his sun, the one who helped him the most and was always by Nagisa’s side no matter what. But Eden was like a family to both of them, without Eden they wouldn’t have a place to go. “We can face the risk of getting disbanded, nothing is certain and maybe we can get away with it but of course it will give us a lot of work.”
Nagisa couldn’t only care about him and Hiyori, his decision would also affect Jun and Ibara greatly, not to mention they had a lot of fans who depended on their music.
“...I will break up with Hiyori-kun.”
Ibara nodded and dismissed Nagisa, he had a really bad feeling about this. He still remembered how much Conquest had affected the leader of Eve, there was no way he would take the break up well. The red haired idol sighed, honestly the executives only gave him a bunch of work, couldn’t they stand up for their idols for once? He had a lot of work to do from now on…

The unit leader had called his boyfriend and asked him to meet in his room, Kaoru and Yuta wouldn’t be there at this time so they could have some privacy.
“Nagisa-kun!” Usually Hiyori’s hugs were strong and made Nagisa feel loved and safe, but today those hugs only filled him with regret for what he was about to do. Like he was reading Nagisa’s mind, Hiyori let go of him and asked what happened.
“...Hiyori-kun, I need to talk with you.”
Hiyori simply nodded, letting Nagisa continue to speak. He was very worried about his boyfriend, they had met up that morning and Nagisa was happy at that time, whatever happened it was bad enough to ruin the idol’s mood.
“...We need to break up…” Nagisa thought Hiyori would protest, but instead he was greeted with silence.”Hiyori-kun?”
“Nagisa-kun! Those jokes aren’t funny! I knew hanging out with that viper would only influence you in a negative way!” It was painfully obvious Hiyori was forcing a smile, he was always honest with himself and that was one of the things Nagisa loved the most about him. No matter the situation, his sun was brutally honest and always says everything he thinks. “Why don’t we go out for a bit?”
“...Hiyori-kun, I’m serious.”
“W-why? Everything was fine this morning…”
“...” He couldn’t say it was because of the executives, Nagisa didn’t want Hiyori to leave Eden out of pure rage and how could he tell Hiyori he chose Eden over him?
“Fine!” Hiyori left the room with tears running down his face. He didn’t understand what went wrong, they never had any problem with each other… until now. They always talked about everything with each other and they didn’t have any secrets, but suddenly Nagisa came with this talk right after he went to Ibara’s office.
Hiyori stopped by the bathroom to clean his face and after making sure he was presentable, he went to the snake’s office. He didn’t care if Ibara was busy, he was going to know why his Nagisa-kun suddenly wanted to break up with him. When Hiyori arrived at the office he didn’t even bother to knock.
“Your Highness! Could you please knock before- “
“What did you say to Nagisa-kun?!”
“To his Excellency?” It seemed Nagisa didn’t tell Hiyori about the video. Ibara didn’t see the logic behind that, wouldn’t it be better if Hiyori knew what was going on? Anyway, he would play along with it for a while, he was too busy to deal with the idol. “I don’t know what you are talking about, Your Highness. I merely talked with His Excellency about a job Adam got.”
“No, I’m sure you did something to Nagisa-kun!”
“If you don’t believe me why not talk with his Excellency?”
That was enough to make Hiyori back down and without saying another word he left. As expected, the idol didn’t take the break up well, Ibara hoped the other wouldn’t do anything rash. The tablet screen lit up and Ibara unlocked it so he could read the email he got.
…
Great, like he didn’t have enough work, now the executives decided to do something on their own. Ibara grabbed his phone and sent a text to the other unit members to come to his office, they had a lot to talk about.
Fortunately Jun and Nagisa were quick to appear, Hiyori on the other hand never showed up.
“We can’t wait anymore for his Highness, Jun can you call him later?”
“Yes.” Jun had arrive Ibara’s office first and the snake had explained what happened between their leaders. If he could, Jun would have a talk with the person responsible for this but they didn’t even know who could possibly be behind this, so he couldn’t do anything for now.
“Thank you.” Ibara kept his expression as neutral as possible, but for Jun and Nagisa who had known him for two years already knew Ibara had bad news. “Eden is going on a hiatus for an indefinite amount of time, first it will be Adam and then Eve.”
“Why not the entire unit?” Jun asked, wouldn't it make more sense if the entire unit went on a hiatus instead of only half of it? “Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want Eden to go on a hiatus, but that decision doesn’t make sense.”
“If we completely stop doing jobs we will suffer later, for now we need Eve to secure our place so when it’s your time to go on a hiatus Eden won’t lose much money.” Ibara hid the fact the executives were against the idea, but the snake pulled some strings and thanks to that it was now possible for the other half of Eden to continue with their jobs. “That was all, you two may go now. Jun, after you call his Highness, tell me what happened.”
The blue haired nodded and left the office. He knew what Ibara meant by that. Conquest was fake and it made Hiyori lock himself in his room, there was the risk of his reaction being ten times worse now that Eden was in trouble and there was nothing they could do.
Jun tried to call his senior, but the phone was never answered and that worried him. Without thinking twice, Jun went to Hiyori’s room, hoping he was still there. The idol knocked and waited for a bit, but he didn’t get any answer. Fortunately the door was unlocked so he opened the door and saw Hiyori put a lot of things in the trash.
“Ohii-san? What are you doing?”
“Jun-kun! Why did you enter my room without permission?!”
“Huh? I knocked first, you were the one who didn’t answer.”
“Because I want to be alone!” Jun saw Hiyori grab a plush and throw it away. He recognized that plush. They were free that day and all of them went out, Nagisa saw that plush and bought it for Hiyori. It was a simple plush but Hiyori was very happy and didn’t shut up about it for the rest of the day.
“Can you at least hear what I have to say?” Hiyori kept silent and Jun took it as a sign to continue talking.”Eden is gonna go on a hiatus, Adam will stop working now but we are going to continue to work for a while as Eve, then we will also go on a hiatus.”
Once again, Hiyori didn’t say a word and honestly that made Jun more worried than his senior throwing a tantrum. But the idol couldn’t blame his leader, he just broke up with his boyfriend and now Eden was on the verge of splitting up, no matter how much Hiyori tried to be positive, this was clearly too much happening just for one day. Usually Jun wanted his time for himself, but seeing his senior like this made him not want to leave Hiyori by himself right now.
“Jun-kun, you can go now.”
“Ohii-san- “
“Just go. We will have a lot of work to do.”
Hiyori waited for Jun to leave and once he was alone, he broke into tears. Was this a nightmare? If so, he wants to wake up now. Why was everything suddenly falling apart? For two whole years Eden was in a good place and he felt safe there, but now everything he loved was disappearing in just a matter of seconds. This was unfair. Why did someone like Eichi still have Fine by his side while he was being abandoned yet again? It’s true he helped Eichi reach his objective, but he was doing everything he could to make things better, to save everyone with Eden’s songs and spread smiles. That was what the perfect Hiyori truly aimed for since the beginning, why was he being punished for that? Why was fate cruel? Why couldn’t he stay in the Paradise of Eden for a little longer? Why? Why?
The idol grabbed the necklace around his neck. This was the only thing Nagisa gave him and he didn’t throw it away. No matter how much he tried, he couldn’t just let go of this necklace. Nagisa gave it to him when they were younger, it was the first thing that wasn’t rocks that his childhood friend had given him, it was impossible for Hiyori to throw it away. Instead he took the necklace off his neck and placed it in a box, that way he wouldn’t have to look at the necklace but at the same time he knew it was safe and he could always have it back. A phone’s ringing was heard and Hiyori checked who it was.
The caller was Nagisa.
Hiyori ignored the call and laid down on his bed, he didn’t want to speak with Nagisa, not now.

Nagisa was walking down the ES halls, thinking to himself what he could do to help Hiyori without hurting him even more. He had asked Ibara for advice but the other couldn’t help him no matter how much he wanted to. Ibara always had trouble with his own feelings, there was no way he would be able to help Nagisa with this, in his perspective it was better to tell Hiyori the reason for their break up but Nagisa rejected that idea. Hiyori would surely be even more mad if he knew Nagisa chose the unit over him… or maybe he was completely wrong, maybe Hiyori would understand. Now it was too late, the damage had already been done and Hiyori didn’t even want to talk with him. He even tried to call Hiyori but he didn’t pick up, that was clearly a way of saying he didn’t want to see Nagisa. The two had small fights before of course, no relationship is perfect, but they never ignored each other and they always managed to work out things between them. Sometimes even Ibara and Jun would say they couldn’t imagine a better pair than their seniors, one could even say the two admired Nagisa and Hiyori for how perfect they were for each other, even though they would never admit that out loud.
The perfect pair was now torn apart and it would be difficult to put them together. Nagisa hoped Hiyori could forgive him one day, but even if he didn’t, at least Nagisa protected the family his childhood friend loves.
“Nagi-senpai?”
Nagisa looked behind and saw Jun, it seemed he came from the dorms direction which made the leader even more sad. He wanted to see Hiyori.
“Ohii-san is really feeling down. He even expelled me from his dorm, shouldn’t you see him and explain what happened?”
“...No, it’s better this way.”
“I see. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask.” Jun didn’t know how he could help, but he disliked seeing his seniors like this so he would try his best to help in any way he could.
“...Thank you, Jun.”
“No problem, Nagi-senpai.”
The two continued to talk about the situation their unit was in for a while before parting ways. Nagisa had no idea what he should do, everything was affecting Hiyori even more than what he expected. For now he would pay him a quick visit, he hoped his dear childhood friend was taking care of himself.
When the unit leader arrived at Hiyori's room he noticed the door was slightly open. Nagisa would remember to tell Hiyori to close the door, only the idols have access to the dorms, but just like Ibara says, it never hurts to be extra careful.
“...Hiyori-kun?”
“...Nagisa-kun?”
Hiyori looked horrible. It was obvious he had been crying a lot and he was hugging Bloody Mary, seeing him like that made Nagisa feel even more guilty.
“What are you doing here? Get out.” Hiyori said with a very unusual cold voice. It was very strange to hear the sun of the unit speak in such a way, but it only proved how much this was hurting him.
“...I came to see how you are…”
“I’m fine. Now get out.” Hiyori didn’t dare to look in Nagisa’s direction. He knew if he looked at those beautiful red eyes he wouldn’t be able to hold back and would run to his ex-boyfriend and hug him.
Hesitantly Nagisa approached Hiyori and called him again, but he still refused to look at him so the white haired idol continued to talk.
“...Have you eaten anything since this morning?”

The leader of Eve never was good at lying, so just by small reactions that normally someone would miss but were very easy to Nagisa recognize, Nagisa could tell the answer no.
“...You should eat something… You have to take care of yourself, we are still idols after all.”

“...Hiyori-kun-”
“Can you leave? I want to be alone.”
“...If you change your mind, know that I will be here.”
Hiyori cursed Nagisa as he saw him leave. Stupid Nagisa for making his heart beat so fast even though they aren’t even dating anymore.

The next days Hiyori refused to leave his room. Kanata and Rinne had also tried to cheer him up, but failed. They couldn’t spend too much time with Hiyori since they were busy with their own units and Hiyori himself didn’t accept their help, he didn’t want anyone’s help.
The other members got even more worried each day, they couldn’t even get their precious unit mate to answer the phone. Even Jun was having trouble speaking with his senior, the blue haired idol had been doing the jobs Eve was supposed to do and that wasn’t an easy task, but he had no other choice so he always ended up not being able to try to speak with Hiyori.
Things were complicated and even the other units could see that. Eichi had offered his help, but of course Ibara refused. He didn’t want to be in debt with the enemy, that would absolutely be their last resource and they had to be desperate for help.
Not only was he making sure this wouldn’t affect Eden's popularity too much, Ibara was looking for the one who caused this in the first place. With how much work he had it was difficult to concentrate his search for the culprit, but he couldn’t give up, the unit he worked on so hard was in danger of being destroyed and he wouldn’t allow that to happen.
Meanwhile Nagisa was letting the guilty consume his consciousness, he couldn’t help but feel this was all his fault. He should have been more careful and noticed someone was recording them, but he didn’t notice and now the result was this. Jun had said a lot of times it wasn’t the leader’s fault, after all they were in Ensemble Square and it was nighttime when that video was recorded, whoever was behind this had something against Eden or Cosmic Productions and they were trying to get them. Maybe that was true, but it didn’t change the fact Nagisa hadn’t been careful enough and he was the reason their precious sun refused to leave his room.
Nagisa knew he can’t control people’s reactions and Hiyori was always someone who never had trouble expressing himself, but he wanted to at least be able to comfort Hiyori somehow. The leader was constantly reminded of his ex-boyfriend, it wasn’t easy to avoid Eden songs or merch, they were one of the most popular units so of course their songs would be everywhere. Normally Nagisa would be extremely happy and proud of how far their unit has come, but now it only brought pain. Not only did he let the love of his life down, he also disappointed his fans.
The white haired idol looked at a picture of him and Hiyori, words weren't enough to describe how much he missed his sun, if only he could go back in time… but of course that wasn't possible, only in fiction such a thing could happen and this was the real word.
"Your Excellency, I know you are worried about his Highness, but you need to take care of yourself as well. You don't want his Highness to be worried about you right? I am confident despite everything that has been happening, his Highness cares deeply about you." Ibara noticed Nagisa wasn't touching his food, it wasn't difficult to guess what was on the other idol’s mind, after all Nagisa only talked about Hiyori now.
"...Thank you Ibara."
The producer was right, if he didn't take care of himself then there's no way he could help Hiyori. The ring of the phone was heard and Ibara excused himself so he could answer, it was probably the higher-ups bothering the vice-president, couldn't they do anything by themselves? It seems their only objective was to make things difficult for Eden.
"Huh?! What do you mean he's missing?!" That sparked Nagisa's interest. Who was missing? "You are his room-mate! Didn't you notice anything weird these past days?!... No, talk with Jun first, his job should be finished in just a few minutes."
Ibara hung up the call and sighed, he really couldn't have a break for five minutes.
"...Ibara?" Nagisa called him, curious about what could have happened that made Ibara lose his head.
"Ah your Excellency… It seems we have a problem…" Nagisa waited for Ibara to finish talking. "Mr.Amagi just called and his Highness is missing…"
"...Hiyori-kun is missing?"
"Yes. He's not in his room nor does he answer his phone. Mr.Shinkai and Mr.Amagi also hasn't seen him since this morning."
"Let's go search for Hiyori-kun."
The two idols started their search for the princess, Ibara was going to have a serious talk with Hiyori once they found him.
One hour quickly passed and there was still no sign of where Hiyori could be. Wherever Hiyori was, they hoped he was okay. Jun was also searching in another place with Rinne, they decided to split up so they could cover more ground but the more time it passed, the more worried they got. This was not like Hiyori at all, he would never do something like this.
"...Ibara… is this my fault?" Nagisa questioned. Had he not chosen Eden, would Hiyori still be by his side?
"Of course not your Excellency! His Highness isn't someone who would do something like this just for revenge or the likes, whatever happened wasn't yours or his Highness fault."
The white haired idol simply nodded. He didn't have any choice but to believe those words, he failed Hiyori before but this time he wouldn't. Nagisa would take Hiyori home and he wouldn't leave no matter how much Hiyori asked.
For the second time Ibara's phone ringed. It was Jun.
"Jun, please tell me you have good news." Ibara put the call on the speaker so Nagisa would hear it as well.
"We found Ohii-san-" Hearing that made Nagisa relieved, he could finally see Hiyori again. "-but we found him passed out on the floor."
That made Nagisa's heart stop for a few seconds, he needed to see Hiyori immediately. He would only calm down after seeing his childhood friend with his own eyes. The idol didn't pay any more attention to what Ibara and Jun were saying, he was too lost in his thoughts.
Nagisa had no idea what was happening, he simply let Ibara guide him. All he could see was a blurry change of scenarios, the idol felt like his world was stopping, his precious sun was hurt and Nagisa wasn't there to protect him. If Hiyori never woke up, Nagisa would never forgive himself, he shoulda been there but instead he was too busy thinking about the guilty he felt.
They quickly arrived at the hospital, but Hiyori was being observed by a doctor so they had to wait. Jun was already there and told Ibara how they found their unit mate. For some reason Hiyori was near ES and he wasn't awake, that was all Jun could tell. Rinne had left early, it was one of the rare times Crazy:B had a job so he had to go with the rest of his unit.
All they could do now was wait.

After almost a painful hour, they finally had news from the doctor. Hiyori had fainted due to exhaustion and starving, he was now awake but they had to be careful and give him some space to breathe.
The three unit members went to the room Hiyori was staying. When they arrived and saw him, they were taken by surprise. It was weird to see someone as lively as Hiyori so pale and with their eyes so empty.
Not being able to see the state Hiyori was in, Nagisa stepped out of the room. Last time the idol didn't want to see Nagisa anyway so he doubted he would be wanted now, he would be waiting outside the room and then ask Ibara and Jun how Hiyori is.
After a while the two idols finally stepped out of Hiyori's room and they seemed… happy?
"Nagi-senpai, Ohii-san wants to talk with you."
That caught Nagisa by surprise. He thought his childhood friend would not want to do anything with him, but it seems he was wrong.
"You shouldn't keep his Highness waiting. Me and Jun will go back to the waiting room, please take as long as you like!"
The two juniors left a very confused Nagisa, they were done with the situation so they decided to help a bit. Now they would leave things to their seniors.
Without wanting to make Hiyori wait, Nagisa entered the room. The green haired idol did not fit in such a dull room, but as always, the idol somehow helped make the room more bright just with his presence.
"... Hiyori-kun, are you alright?"
"Now I am. The viper and Jun-kun told me what happened… Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Ah, so that's why Hiyori wanted to talk with Nagisa.
"I would never be mad at you if what you did was for the sake of our unit." Hiyori continued. "I hope something like this never happens again, but if it does, please rely on me like you used to do when we were kids."
"...I'm sorry."
"Come here." Nagisa did as he was told and approached Hiyori. The blond wrapped his arms around Nagisa and smiled, he missed hugging his dear childhood friend.
"...Did Ibara tell you about the video?"
"Of course. They found out who the culprit was. It was someone who was involved in the Cospro scandal, but we don't have to worry anymore about it."
It was a huge relief to know the person who caused all of this was finally caught, hopefully they wouldn't bother Eden anymore.
"...I see. But Hiyori-kun, why did you go out if you felt unwell?"
"I wanted some fresh air and a change of scenarios. Being closed in my room was driving me insane and I missed Nagisa-kun! It was painful to not see you during all those days!"
Nagisa understood that very well, it had been painful for him as well and he was happy to see his childhood friend again.
"Nagisa-kun, can we go back to how things were before?"
"Of course, my Eve."
The white haired idol gave his boyfriend a kiss and smiled. This time no one would be able to separate them again, Nagisa would not allow anyone to have the chance of hurting his precious Hiyori. This time, Nagisa would protect Hiyori.
