Chapter Text
“Marcy, I'm assigning you to cheerleading and tennis. Tom you’ll have football-.” The journalism teacher continued listing off the students' jobs. Marcy sat in the back of the class behind a book playing on her Nintendo. The teacher came up to Marcy and moved the book away. “Marcy Wu did you hear me?”
“Something like tennis and football.” Marcy says as she plays Smash Bros. The teacher sighs before taking away Marcy’s Nintendo. Marcy whines at the loss of her gaming system, she was super close to winning the round. Marcy slumps against her desk as she listens to the teacher.
“I assigned you to the cheerleading and tennis team. Friday is the first game of the season and with the loss of the old team captain a new one has been made, her name is Sasha Waybright. Make sure you get good shots of the cheer team. Let’s make sure we don’t have a repeat of last time.” Marcy groans as she remembers what happened.
Last year she was walking down the bleachers and tripped on the stairs. Marcy was holding a drink. It flew out of her hands and landed on the cheer coach. She apologized a ton but ended up with a week of detention. “Next Saturday the girl’s tennis team will have their first match. I need you to get a few pictures on the new transfer student Anne Boonchuy. She was her old school MVP, she had made varsity her freshman year there. I better see those pictures on Monday.” The teacher said sternly.
“You got it Ms. Olivia.” Marcy saluted at her. Ms. Olivia sighed and gave Marcy her device back.
Marcy walks into the football game using her student ID as a free pass. Marcy walks around the stands. She still has thirty minutes till the game starts. Marcy walks over to the food stand and buys Skittles and Starbursts for a snack. Marcy walks around for a couple more minutes as she snacks on the skittles. She starts to walk down the stairs to be closer to the field for some shoots. Marcy reaches for the Starbursts in her pocket when her feet get tangled together and trip her.
“Oh sh-“ Marcy yelps before falling forward. She prepares her arms to take the impact of the fall but it never happens instead she feels something around her.
Marcy slowly opens her eyes to find a big blob of yellow in her face. ‘It was hair, blond hair.’ Marcy realizes and starts to freak out. ‘Oh my god this is a person!” Marcy lets out a squeak and stumbles away from the blondie.
“Woah, are you okay?” The blond asks. Marcy raises her eyes to meet the blonds. She was hot-no cute, Marcy could feel her temperature raise. “You were about to fall down a ton of stairs so I caught you.” The blond cheerleader says as she looks down the rest of the way down.
“I’m good, cool , fantastic.” Marcy stumbles out as she does finger guns towards her to play it off cool. The cheerleader lets out a chuckle.
The chuckle disappears and the blond smiles at Marcy. “I’m glad you’re alright.” The blond attention gets captured by the camera resting at Marcy’s side. “Who are you taking pictures of tonight?”
A confused expression appears on Marcy’s face. “What?” The blond points at Marcy’s side. The gamer's face lights up when she realizes what the cheerleader was speaking of. “Oh the camera? I’m here to take shots of the cheer team and new captain Sasha.”
The blondie smirks at Marcy. “Should I smile for the picture now?”
“I mean sure?” Marcy raises the camera and focuses the shot on the blond. The cheerleader gets into a basic pose with her pom poms and leg in the air. Marcy captures the picture. She looks up from the camera, the cheerleader could see a blush on the gamer’s face. Blondie sends a smile towards her.
“Girls come down, games are about to start!” The coach yells from the bottom of the stairs.
“I better go, it was nice to meet you Marcy.” The cheerleader said before joining her team.
Marcy stood shocked in her spot. “How do you know my name?” She wondered.
It was the beginning of the game when Marcy saw the same blond cheerleader yell to her team. “Let’s go girlfriends!” The cheerleaders lined up facing the crowd in front of them stood the blond.
Wasn’t the team captain supposed to lead the team Marcy thought. “Give me a W!” The blond cheered, a W was yelled throughout the crowd.
Was the blond- “Give me a I!”
No she couldn’t be- “Give me a N!”
The blond was the captain of the cheerleaders- “What’s that spell!”
She was Sasha Waybright and Marcy was totally falling for her. “WIN!”
