B-Dablade Artbook

Summary:

A book consisting of my art of Beyblade and B-Daman. Mostly of Burst and Crossfire/Fireblast(mostly the former) with a side of other Gens as well.

Chapter 1: B-DaBlade Collection 1

Summary:

My first series of pieces of these two shows crossing over.

Notes:

Did these waaay back in 2018. Though the last one I did was in late 2019 - early 2020.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Riki and Valt

Kamon and Aiger

Rudy and Dante

Notes:

I always considered Burst as the Beyblade series counterpart to B-Daman’s Crossfire/Fireblast(they are sister franchises after all - both by Takara Tomy).

They’re both the third generations of their respective franchises(though technically Crossfight is the fourth instalment, but not many people know about Super B-Daman since B-Daman didn’t come out in the west till 2005 with Battle B-Daman but anyways), these gens emphasized greatly on their characters with a great cast, and so on.

Also the similarities between Riki and Valt in terms of colours is such a coincidence, seriously they ARE COUNTERPARTS AND YOU CAN’T TELL ME OTHERWISE.

As for story.... uH-

B-Daman Crossfire/Fireblast > Beyblade Burst Any day.

I feel as in comparison to Burst, Crossfight has by far the better story in to due to being consistent with it and each character has their time to shine even if it’s very little.

Going back to it after loosing interest in Burst, it was such a breath of fresh air seeing Riki again and how different he is/was to the typical Shonen protagonist archetype that Burst kept shoving, and Kamon is how you do a sequel protagonist rigHT-

And despite it’s simple premise/story, HOLY CRAP rewatching it was an exPERIENCE- like I’m glad the writers made characters beside the main ones DO things and take part in the main plot. They kept building off of the side plots that eventually add up to the finale. It’s so good for what it is.

It’s great. Go watch it dammit.
