The lights flickered open and the cheers roared the whole arena of fans who have been waiting for this day to come. Yearning hearts started thumping with the rhythm that slowly dominated the stage. It was familiar, a song that was memorized by all of the fans long ago. Etched in their minds as their love for the show and the characters in it lives on until now.
Two men stepped into the light with bright smiles on their faces. They both walked to the middle to greet everyone with excited gallops and waves as the rush of euphoria when they heard the excited screams of their fans fuelled them. They both got into the center stage, side by side once again, with their right hands forming into a fist upfront. Their signature pose. The ones that made the people lose their mind right then and there.
“Hello! We are TwoFly !”
The guitar started playing.

Shouyo started singing the lines he last sang long ago, when he was sixteen. It was nostalgic, bringing in a lot of memories he hasn’t visited in years. Fun times when he was young and naive. Wide eyed child on set.

Tobio sang next, facing him with a boyish grin. Takes him back to those times where everything was just this. This duo and this show. It was quite weird for the raven haired idol as well, seeing as he hadn’t really made any effort to reconnect with everything that is ‘Promise’, the teen show he starred with Shouyo when they were younger.
Looking at each other, as they used to do all the time, they sang in harmony.

The song evoked fun on both of them. With its loud beat and lively melody, the two started to get lost into the music. Pushing aside everything that has transpired on the blank years after their show, they once again became the Shouyo and Tobio their fans longed to see together. Fooling around, absorbing the energy from the crowd, they recreated what TwoFly was.
Tobio started doing the silly dance they used to do on set, him gyrating awkwardly in a circular motion with his hand on his side. He laughed at himself while he was singing and Shouyo followed right after. They giggled at how stupid they looked but the fans are eating it. Seeing how this reminds them of the series they have rewatched a million times, now for real. In the flesh.

I will become the towel when you cry to wipe your tears
Funny how even time had passed for the two of them not seeing each other, nor interacting. Not even a hi or a hello. Still, how could they manage to bring this unexplainable energy between them? It could have been natural or maybe they are just that good of actors. Especially when Tobio gestured to Shouyo to come closer, and as the lyrics said, he mimicked wiping the tears on his face.
Simultaneous screams echoed in the arena. It was a dream come true for them to witness this couple (an on-screen one) be together, performing. Singing the theme song they wrote for the show.
Everytime they turned to each other, electrictifying chemistry washed over them. The way they smiled, glanced and sang their hearts out; it was truly a TwoFly moment a lot of the waiting fans have craved for so long.
Shouyo, who the people have known to be touchy, tried to bring up that trait again. Seemingly light touches on Tobio’s arms, a pat on the back, and side hugs were placed carefully. Not wanting to invade the other’s space too much and he honestly doesn’t really want to touch him either, and at the same time, not also giving the audience a clue that the couple they believed in for so many years hated each other in real life.
Behind curtains, they were enemies and the hatred they have for each other rooted from the love that blossomed from their ‘Promise’.
And when they ran onto the middle of the stage, reenacting an iconic scene from the series, Tobio welcomed his ex-boyfriend in his arms and enveloped him with a tight hug as if he missed the feeling of the Shouyo’s body pressed to him.
How ironic it is that the lines they sing did not reflect any feelings they had at that moment.
