Eret... gets out of bed.
For anyone else, this would be normal, this would be an everyday occurrence, but for Eret, this event is special. This is an accomplishment. Even better, xe're getting out of bed almost immediately after xe've woken up. Granted, initially it was just to piss, but even after returning to xyr room xe stay awake, stay out of bed.
Xe even get dressed. It's not much, it's not xyr usual royal attire, but it's a decent shirt, decent pants, definitely nice enough for xem to leave xyr castle if that was something xe wanted to do.
Leaving xyr castle has been an ordeal lately.
Getting out of bed has been an ordeal lately.
Eret leaves xyr crown on xyr bedside table.
There are days where xe have to push it, where xe have to leave xyr castle and walk out into the world and be royal and presentable and human. Most days, Eret feels like being royal is a curse. Most days, just getting presentable saps every piece of xyr energy. All days, Eret keeps the fact that xe are not human hidden by dark sunglasses.
Most days, Eret wants to be human.
Most days, Eret does not get out of bed.
Today, Eret gets out of bed and sits on the grass just outside the entrance to xyr castle, back against the stone, still securely within the walls. Being outside is nice. Xe bury xyr hands into the unkempt grass and close xyr eyes and breathe. It's windy and cloudy and definitely going to rain soon. It's a day that most people would not appreciate. Eret soaks it in like it's the most beautiful day in the world.
After all, xe got out of bed today.
