For as long as he could remember, throughout the many centuries of his existence as part of the faefolk, Technoblade had been special in the sense that he was beholden to no one. He’d enjoyed power, and freedom, and for many years he’d been comfortable with protecting his people and spending his days at Phil’s side.

Melinoë looks back at the corpse prince. As she watches, parts of him begin rotting, melting into blood; his gray skin bubbles and peels and falls into the ground, his muscles going to liquid, and she sees his bones and his innards and then straight through him for a terrible few seconds before she wrenches her eyes back up to his face. His eyes are vacant, glassy. They hold all the certainty of a mirror. She says his name, unable to help herself. And then his eyes, too, are gone, melting into the ground with the rest.
Melinoë picks up the bloodied scrap with a shaking hand, tucks it among the rest of her things, and continues towards Olympus.

“I have killed your brother hundreds of times,” Hades says. “And he has killed me hundreds more. We are both terribly stubborn about refusing to stay dead.” He pauses, and then says, “Whatever this is, it is Chronos’ doing. My father aims to torment my kin. To blame yourself would be—counterproductive.”
“I know that, Father,” Melinoë says. “I find that I only have myself to blame, nonetheless.”
“I have just explained—”
“It was my hand that held the blade,” she interrupts. It is a strange feeling. She cannot remember ever having interrupted her father before. “It was me that he saw when he died. I have—it is not the same,” she says, desperately, “because you were allowed to know him, and I have never met him, and yet I must destroy him. I have no other choice. Chronos has given me no other choice, and he is not blameless, but neither am I.” Her cheeks and eyes burn. “Did he know me? Before I was—before.”
Her father’s scarlet eyes seem hollow with sadness. “He was very excited to meet you,” he says, quietly. “As were we all.”
In the end, this is what makes her cry.

Summary
Techno had expected a betrayal on Quackity’s part as soon as the man had approached him for help with Dream in the prison. The duck had always been two-faced, one of the many reasons why they could never get along, but he’d seen that plot twist from so far away that it felt almost pathetic. He decided to humor the guy just because desperation didn’t suit him.
Of course, he set up an escape plan. He left clear instructions for Phil to open up the letter he’d left him after no more than three days after he’d left. Three days. They were currently two months in. He was gonna kill Phil once he got out.
It wasn’t even that they were being particularly mistreated, they were served plenty of raw potatoes each day that were easily cooked with the heat of the impenetrable lava wall separating them from freedom. Aside from that, he hadn’t seen either Quackity or Sam since they’d thrown him in there.
No, the problem wasn’t necessarily the prison as much as it was…
“So Techno, about Tommy…”.

Around ten years after his past relationship ended, Phil gets a call from a social worker letting him know that his old girlfriend's son is in the foster system, and that he'd remembered Phil's phone number. Phil's wife, Kristin, is very supportive of the idea of bringing home Phil's long-lost bonus son.
Sixteen-year-old Techno Blade may have given his social worker Phil's number, but after ten years since he'd last seen his almost-step-father, he's not quite as certain of the idea. Lucky for him, the Craft family is ready to show him that they do, in fact, want him to be a part of their family.
