After a rather jarring reveal on Virgil's birthday, the mortal and his friends are now pressed with the task of fixing the magic that fuels the whole of The Upstairs, because if they don't, it puts every magical being Virgil knows at risk. Including his boyfriend and the boy he gave up nearly a decade of his life for to make sure he was safe.
On top of the limited amount of time to figure out how to fix the magic and all the problems that were causing it, there are a few other issues.
