Caelia Titian, Seventh Bloom is hard at work at her job; Xenopomology, or at least she's supposed to be. Ever since arriving on Zaroff a whole bloom ago to start the new hobby she's been very distracted by the titans that reside there, as well as the prospect of proving herself worthy in the ring despite the fear of the consequences. Set in GlitchyRobo's Human Domestication Guide setting.
Humanity has been invaded by a precursor race of hypercompetent plant dommes called the Affini, and forcibly given paradise in a post-scarcity culture that heavily prioritizes the care for its protectorates, to the point of drugging and mind-controlling them into a blissful reverie if necessary. For almost everyone this is a vast improvement. All that's required is to give up any silly notions that anyone except for the Affini know what's best for everyone; in many cases the poor things clearly don't.
Set after The Place Where We Can Stop Running. If you haven't read it, please go back and read it first, this story will not make sense otherwise.
