Years ago, one of them had vanished mid-ritual, and the story had travelled through covens on whispered breath. Dark magic, betrayal, maybe both. Since then, the Stray Kids had lived like ghosts—present on parchment, absent everywhere else.
Not a mission he wanted. But refusal wasn’t a privilege he owned.
“You’ll observe the ritual,” continued the High Warden, “ensure compliance, and report any deviation from approved sigilwork.”
He inclined his head. “Understood.”

This culture would have still somewhat remained, even within isolated pockets within the continent of Amphibia.
