Chapter 1: Home Away From Home
Gravity Falls
Waking up Dipper checked his watch and fell back asleep, only to shoot up realizing today is the day, waking up his tired sister she was still in sleep mode. “Mabel, Mabel, today’s the day,” and instantly she awoke like a zombie from the grave and smiled, “let’s go!!” She yelled out cheering. Dipper followed after, but before that they brushed their teeth and took showers before completing their final pack, Mabel had her suitcase ready to go.
It was easier on Mabel since she got her braces off, she could eat whatever she wants as long as she took care of her gums. “Mabel why are you digging into that candy?” He asked curious as she took a handful, “small treat,” she laughed and they met with their parents who saw them off. “Now be good, don’t give your uncle any trouble.” Their mom called out as they walked, thankful that they had no idea about what happened last Summer and it was going to stay like that.
Mabel walked in her blue jeans and grey T-shirt with grey converse, while Dipper was still the same old Dipper, wearing his jean shorts and blue coat over a shirt with Wendy’s hat she gave him. “So, are you excited to see Wendy again?” Mabel asked laughing, and he just said awkwardly, “no, no I mean, I’m over Wendy, but I guess I do miss her and the wild adventures she went with us on.” Mabel understood and remained silent.
Now at the bus stop they waited for the noon bus to come around, sitting on the bench they took a look around taking in the fact they are leaving here once again. Feeling good about it they continued to talk among themselves, “you know, I’m happy to be returning.” Mabel spoke to her brother and he replied back with “ya, I missed that town, even though we went through a lot in our first Summer there.” He laughed and she followed.
*After Some Time*
The bus pulled up and they got on, taking their seats in the back they laughed and played games among each other while also watching the scenery go by. Seeing the sign that’s when they knew they left their home, now going across the country pretty much what it felt like. Gravity Falls was not a sleepy town anymore, sure now that everything is gone, but thanks to everyone last Summer who threw them a going away party on their birthday’s the town moved on from the whole event as a whole.
*One Long Bus Trip Later*
Arriving at the final stop which was Gravity Falls they got off and spotted their great uncle’s standing not too far, “Kids!” Both of their uncle’s called out and they ran to them. “Grunkle Stan, I missed you.” Mabel let a tear slip out, now switching uncle’s, Dipper hugged Stan, while she went to hug Ford, taking his hand she said “missed you too.” He was happy to see Mabel smiling and being herself.
After meet and greets Mabel jumped on Stan and he carried her to the car while Dipper was with Ford, “bop,” she said and he bopped her back. Proud uncle’s they were they got in and after everyone was settled made their way back to the Mystery Shack. Unbeknownst to the twins though that there will be a surprise upon their arrival, listening to music and catching up it was nothing but happiness around.
*Pulling up to the Shack*
Looking out the window they noticed the whole town was there, “wow, did you really do this for us?” She asked her uncle’s followed by Dipper and they smiled. Getting out everyone cheered, “Welcome back Mabel and Dipper!” The whole town clapped, spotting Wendy and Soos standing in front of the crowd. Dipper and Mabel took in the sight, Wendy and Soos came walking over and stood with them. After switching back hats Wendy and Dipper hugged each other.
“Bro’s for life, welcome back.” While they were doing that Mabel was hugging Soos, noticing Stan took his hat back and Soos was happy to be a handy man again. “What’s up dude, it’s been awhile.” So after reuniting with the family, they looked back at the crowd.
We had Pacifica who was making sure food and refreshments were sent out, it warmed Mabel’s heart, looking to Pacifica she smiled back. Looking among the rest she spotted Candy and Grenda and they gave her a nod and smiled. Even Fiddleford Hadron “Old Man” McGucket was there and he was doing his diddly-doo dance while also enjoying the celebration making the twins laugh.
Stan was staring down the goat who always came around to eat his trash and was walking towards the people, Gideon Charles Gleeful / “Li’l Gideon was there performing safe magic tricks amusing the crowd, he also looked over and gave a nod. Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland were having a drinking contest, who can drink the most in 5 minuets.
Robert Stacey “Robbie” Valentino, was hanging out with Wendy and his friends they were having their own mini party. Buddy “Bud” Gleeful was there standing next to his son smiling proudly at how far Gideon has come, kindness and respect for his old man. Preston and Priscilla Northwest were speaking the organizer about the party and how it should have some touch ups.
Agent Powers and Agent Trigger were observing the party while also taking part in the events since of course there is no more weirdness in the town. Tambry was making out with Robbie off on the side after she came over moving her arms around him. Texting and messing around with their friends some more, Lee and Nate were shirtless and trying to see who can hit or wrestle the hardest, Thompson was for once not the friend who was always made fun of.
Lazy” Susan Wentworth was cooking pies and making pancakes and all sorts of food for the party, Tobias “Toby” Determined was speaking to Shandra Jimenez who seemed to love the fact that Toby was trying to make her laugh. There was some kind of connection there but they remained good friends.
Daniel “Manly Dan” Corduroy, was there with his sons and he was punching a tree while his sons were chopping wood and doing ‘manly things’ which was fun. Tyler Cutebiker Was off to the side saying “Get ‘em! Get ‘em!” So it was nice to see that guy again. The Corduroy Boys started wrestling each other, Tate McGucket was with his son and they were working on bonding once again as father and son. Free Pizza Guy was with Mr. Poolcheck actually eating pizza provided by Pacifica Northwest.
Melody pulled Soos and they went off somewhere, Mrs. Gleeful was cleaning up, Pacifica’s friends were helping her out with running the service. Reginald and Rosanna were holding hands and walking the nature paths, Tad Strange was mingling with the other townsfolk people. So it was a real turn out, along with newcomers to the town, Dipper went off with Ford and they were reading a couple of books on the deck and writing out stuff, leaving Mabel with Grunkle Stan after she said hi and hung out with her friends for a bit.
Mabel hugged him again and Stan just started rough housing and carried her on his back, “you’ve grown a lot kiddo.” He said to her and she laughed, “I’m still the cute same old Mabel though Grunkle Stan.” Both deciding to grab some food and something to drink they went to the side and ate on the deck along with Sixer and Dipper. Mabel pulled out her camera and phone and took a picture, huddling up the two uncle were behind them while Dipper and Mabel were in the middle.
Taking photos of each other they continued having a good time, after awhile though someone got on the stage and made an announcement. “Hello everyone, thank you for coming to the Shack and putting together this amazing event for Mabel and Dipper Pine’s, if they could please come up to the stage along with their uncle’s that would be great.
After finishing up they threw everything away and made their way up to the stage where Soos and Wendy stood with them. Handing the microphone to Mabel she had a speech prepared in advance, “friends, strangers, and newcomers, thank you for putting on this event for me and my brother, you know a year has gone by and in that year when we weren’t here, we missed this town and all it holds, coming back once again is a dream come true, having two amazing great uncle’s and such a supportive town, it touches me deep down, thank you once again everyone.”
After ending her speech she handed the microphone to her brother and then among their uncle’s, after speeches the newspaper had their camera ready. “Alright everyone get together!” He called out and they got into formation, Mabel and Dipper kneeled down, while Soos and Wendy got down but just enough to see followed by the two uncle’s standing in the back. “Let’s make fun poses, everyone celebrate!” Mabel said out loud and once ready they took a few different photos that showed different things going on.
*After the event was Over*
People started gradually leaving in groups, Soos and Wendy were cleaning up while Dipper, Mabel, Ford, and Stan went inside and watched some TV. Dipper and Grunkle Ford were sitting on the carpet while Grunkle Stan was in the arm chair with Mabel in his lap. It was warm, and nice to have everyone together, Mabel really loved her Grunkle Stan, noticing that through the movie Dipper and Ford were using their own equations and writing out new ones while also discussing what they have researched.
Yep it was a great night, and many more to come for the Pine Family, falling asleep Grunkle Stan covered Mabel while Ford covered Dipper and brought them upstairs.
Leaving the two happy uncle’s together to have their own celebration.
