Work Text:
Remy and Emile
“Emmy babe!” Remy shouted as he came storming through the Cartoon Therapists home.
Emile Picani came running from his bedroom, because Remy hardly ever just came this early and without a star-bucks cup in his hand. “Remy! Do you, how do. What wrong?” He asked, worriedly as the Sleep Function stormed up to his bookshelf of his patient journals and flipping through each one rapidly.
“Anxiety is threatening to toss himself into the oblivion at the edge of the Imagination and Deceit and Remus have elected me to go save his dramatic ass.” The Function explained. “I need your notes on potential suicidal patients.” The Function stop minutely at seeing the name on one journal. “You have sessions with the Dragonwitch?” He asked.
Emile shrugged with a shy smile as he walked over to Remy and the bookshelf, taking the journal in the Functions hands and putting it back in its original place. “She’s not so bad. Just a lot of pent up emotions. Our sessions are a good outlet for her.” The Therapist said. Pulling out the journal that the Function wanted. “Give me a minute and I’ll come help.” He said, ready to slip on his shoes.
“Oh no, you don’t bitch.” Remy snarled, pulling the Therapist back, on onto the nearest sofa, where he caged the other in. “You are not a Side or a Function. You fall in that pit then you are poof! Gone. And honey, the hell I will let that happen.”
Emile just smiled up at the Sleep Function. “Aww, that’s so sweet of you to say.” He patted Remy’s cheek and slipped under the Function’s arm to get back to his feet. “But I’m still coming with you. Or you’re not getting this.” He held up the journal that Remy had been looking for.
“First the two wannabe villains now you! Like what a Function got to do here?!” Remy demanded, exasperated. “Go get Anxiety, save Anxiety and now my boyfriend wants to tag along so I save you ass too!” Remy grouched, already walking out the door the Cartoon Therapist following close behind. “But you listen to me. You are not going to within ten yard to the edge, girl, do you here me!” He demanded.
Emile nodded, his bright smile still in place. “I’m just coming along to give you a few pointer on how to talk down a suicidal person.” He defended.
Remy tsked but kept walking allowing the good doctor to continue to follow him. He made Emile wait at the treeline and made him promise to go back home once he got Anxiety to go back tot he other Sides.
Later when everything had calmed down he and Emile were sitting beneath the night sky that was littered with starlight and a big beautiful moon. Remy had his head resting on the good doctors shoulder watching as Emile doodled in a journal. “Whatcha drawing babe?”
“I’m filling out your patient journal.” Emile answered showing off the page. There were a bunch of side notes and a lot of doodles of Remy in different cartoon styles.
“I like this one.” Remy pointed, at a picture that had him and Emile close together. “Its got my two favorite things in it. My coffee and you.” He smiled, nuzzling closer to the Therapist and enjoyed the sight of the Therapist blushing.
“Shouldn’t you be getting ready to put Thomas to sleep for the night?” Emile asked, turning his head slightly so he could see Remy’s face.
“Yup. He’ll be fine. A few more hours of that show he likes won’t hurt him. Besides if it does, our girl, Logic will fix it.” Remy waved away the concern. “Now shut up and love me more.” He smiled, pulling Emile into a kiss.
