I glow pink in the night in my room
I've been blossoming alone over you
Marinette landed on her bed with an unceremonious thud and let her transformation wear off while trying to hold everything together.
And I hear my heart breaking tonight

Shouldn't she feel happy? Instead of feeling her heart burst with happiness, all she could feel was pain and hurt, and she knew that it was all her fault.
Do you hear it too?
It's like a summer shower
What was a clear sky just five minutes ago started to pour, the pitter-patter of the rain on her roof almost mocking the beat of her heart. Of course it would start to rain as soon as she left Adrien's.
With every drop of rain singing

Adrien.

It was hard for her to remember exactly how it started. There was one night where the rain seemed endless, and she decided to turn back and end patrol early, just to spot Adrien staring out the window with the saddest eyes she’s ever seen. Summoning all of her Ladybug courage, she swung over to him and knocked on the window, hoping that he would be willing to let her in and talk to her. And if he questioned it, she could just say that she wanted to prevent any possible akumatizations.
He let her in, and they spoke all night.
It turns out that when Marinette brought out her confident Ladybug persona, talking to Adrien was actually easy. She found out that he was deeper of a person than she could ever imagine. He was infinitely sadder, too. One night turned into too many to count where she’d go over and talk to him about the stresses of being Ladybug, the Guardian, and anything else plaguing her without giving up any possibly incriminating information.
Then came that one night where everything changed.
Even though the topics could be heavy, their conversations always had a light-heartedness to them that made it easy to confide in each other. Until Ladybug broke down and mentioned that she couldn’t do it anymore.
“Being a superhero is incredible, but I’m not. I feel like I’m disappointing the whole city whenever I fail to make progress on defeating Hawkmoth. I’m an awful Ladybug.”
Adrien looked at her, really looked at her, and gently took her hand in his.
“Ladybug, I think you’re incredible. The entire city knows you’re working so hard, and they love you...we all love you. You are amazing. Is there anything I can do to help show you that?”
And maybe it was the late-night delirium, or maybe it was because her heart was bursting at the seams. But she decided to respond, mostly joking:
“What if you kissed me?”
And even though the tips of his ears turned pink, he furrowed his brow and kissed her on the lips.

Fast-forward to now. She still sat behind him in class, but that didn’t mean anything when she felt a thousand miles away. Who knew that having a (secret) romantic relationship while donning an alter-ego would make it so you’d miss someone two feet in front of you?
And I know I've kissed you before, but

She looked at him, heart aching, knowing that this was probably doing her more harm than good, but there was only one question going through her mind right now:
Can I try again, try again, try again
Try again, and again, and again
And again, and again, and again?
