Summary
My teacher always advised me to write songs that transport the listener to the moment in time you're singing of. Now...I finally feel I understand what he meant.
100 years ago he was a hero, a Champion, a son, a brother, and a friend—or so the stories go.
Now the song takes him back to the life he lost, and lights the way to the life he can regain.

Summary
As he races down the cliffs to the beach, he feels something soft and uneven underfoot. Link pulls his skimmer away to find a mouse lying on the path, dead. He stoops to take a closer look at it. Blood has spurt from its mouth, though he’s not sure if he’s the cause honestly. It strikes him that he may have killed the small rodent, but he doesn’t think much on that.
No, that’s not the odd part of it. Of course there are field mice and rats on the island, but the rodents are never this close to shore, and they certainly keep out of the open where men are known to frequent, the skittish things that they are. The likelihood, essentially, of him running across a live and healthy mouse is slim.
When he comes to the shore, the captain is sitting in his waka ama’s main hull, staring out into the ocean. Seeing him approach, Tetra quickly wipes her eyes and nose, her cheeks a dark, rosy color. Her strange purple eyes are swollen and puffy. The shattered expression on her face is so different from her usual confident, steely air.

Summary
When the Shrine of Resurrection took his memories and the Calamity took his world, a flaw was exposed in the essence that carries the Soul of the Hero.
Link has learned to live with these moments of madness, with these memories of oceans and kingdoms and people he's never seen but that his soul bleeds when he least expects it. His life rebuilding Hyrule at Zelda's side has helped him make peace with past lifetimes and given him a bright future to strive for. Or, so he thought.
So he thought, until he was left without his arm, his sword, or his light while pieces of his oath rain like tears over her broken kingdom.

Zelda nodded along with Link’s words. “You’re right. We’ll need to secure the champions and their Divine Beasts. But the guardians… they will need to be dismantled. They hold a greater threat than the beasts. And… there’s the matter of getting my past self to unlock her sacred power.”
“And you unlocked yours when…”
“When I acted in love for you,” she finished, meeting his gaze. “We need to get our past selves to realize their feelings.”
“You’re saying we need to play matchmaker.”

He dragged a hand down his face. “We’re doomed.”
